I wish I could give less than one star. Sedgwick has bankrupted my family once. This is on file in Colorado and I have the documentation. Now they repeatedly deny my STD claim for hand surgery for a job that is 90% typing. The surgeries have been to correct a flexon tendon laceration and laceration to 2 nerves. This is equal parts surgery and PT. Sedgwick is incapable of understanding this. This has been a major surgery and retraining of how to use my hand.... but 2 mths off work is over their heads for surgery, recovery, retraining, therapy, etc.

Where is the less than 1 star. I want to rate -5. My doctor has filled out their forms 3 times and each time they come up with a BS reason to reject them The new reason is that on their form # 11 "Patient Complaint" my doctor put "Foot pain" which I had to have surgery on. "Foot pain" was my issue, Not acceptable to Shitwick. I have worked for BAC for 11 years, never have I ever been put through anything like this. Tony G the appeal agent is rude, condescending and a complete a$$. BAC HR has been no help. So I don't get paid for 6 weeks for staying home trying to recover from surgery. I have no idea why when Bank of America brags about the great benefits , they force us to interact with such a crappy company as Sedgwick.

If there is a company in hell, it would be Sedgwick. If you ever want someone to kill themselves, have them file a claim with Sedgwick. Hands down, the most incompetent, poorly run company in the history of companies. It takes effort to be this bad, and they put in that effort in spades. Example of experience: We need this signature. *gets signature. Gets text saying they need more confirmation. Call Cuntwick. Employee says all documentation in order. 2 hours later gets text: Fuckwick needs more information. Calls. Needs documentation of signature that they already said they received. *Brown note hold music plays. Employee comes back on line to say they need to consult another department about how to give people the worst possible experience. Comes back on line. "Shitwicks system takes up to 4 hours to receive emails." *after calling and being dicked around for a month. I would rather be pumped full of meth, and skinned alive by a Mexican cartel than ever deal with this company again.

Sedgwick motive is to deny all claims until you return to work!!!!!!! They send you medical paperwork to have filled out by your provider but once those sets of paperwork are filled out entirely they’ll stall payment saying that it’s being reviewed by multiple departments just to request more paperwork that they never sent…. They keep your leave status fluctuating from pending and denied. I was told by a representative that I shouldn’t have been out of work for my disability as my disability isn’t a disability to her then she repeated my medical records which is against hippa. THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED

Sedgwick is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with!! The only 2 words they know is "objective medical". I had 2 Dr offices send in all medical notes,treatment plans etc and Sedgwick still say they need more forms? I showed my Dr this Sedgwick note and they said we sent them all the paperwork we have. Still not good enough for Sedgwick! They are a bunch of robots reading from a script! They seem to have no real interest in making a short term disability claim coherent at all. Out of being off for four months they did not even get one payment correct. A few times there was no money at all $0. Either 2 Dr offices are inept at providing the proper paperwork or Sedgwick is proficient in denying claims regardless of the documentation provided. Needless to say this has been one of the worst experiences of my life. They have proven to be a difficult company to deal with! Simply put "Sedgwick Sucks!!!"

Why do I have to give this so called company 1 star. 0000 rating they are a bunch of con men. Totally unprofessional people who think they have some level of power and use it to probably make their bonus at your expense. This is the first time that I have had a a sizeable insurance claim. Our insurance company put these people in as loss adjusters. Words fail me rude, arrogant, bully, liars & rip off merchants. Avoid if at all possible !!!

Awful awful awful experience dealing with incompetence and lack of response at Sedgwick. Adjustors and supervisors do not return calls - it may take months to get a response. Mistakes on legal documents. No oversight by management. It's shocking that any reputable business hires Sedgwick to be their insurance company, because they really are low level.

This company should be shot. They are BUMS! They are LIARS, won't return calls, do dirty work for clients and harm honest working people. They're available to start a claim and afterwards go ghost. This is a cheap employer's GOLDMINE of a company. Now we know how they keep premium cost down. BUMS!!!

If it were possible to give them a zero, I would certainly do that. Sedgwick has done nothing more than give me the runaround the entire time I’ve been trying to handle my claim they have asked me to send them paperwork. Once I send them to them they tell me it’s incorrect. I get the doctor to correct it they send it back and asked for the same thing to be changed back to what the doctor originally put. my paperwork too took two months for them to approve only to deny the claim three days later I am so confused. The employees are very nonchalant and uncaring. It’s very difficult to have someone call you back. It’s even more difficult to have them follow up with you regarding paperwork they received. It is certainly justified in their inability to communicate I really believe that this company should be out of business.

Better hope that went you're on workers comp nothing even remotely makes your Injury worse because they will stop paying you despite having your injury still. So you'll be stuck out of work because of the injury ANNND absolutely no money coming in because this place will use any excuse to NOT pay you and leave you high and dry trying to figure out how you're gonna pay your bills and rent. But what do they care!

The absolute worse company for handling claims on employee’s behalf. Just awful people, they are only interested in helping your claim be denied. Poor communication skills and people skills. I hope they go out of business and lose all of the multiple contracts they have. Worse thing that ever happened to my company. I believe the company has instructed them to try and deny as many claims as possible to scare workers to come to work sick and in pain even though they claim they don’t want you to work under those situations. Fuckum!!!

I've paid for short term disability and had retinal surgery. They have caused undue financial hardship with my check as I was to be paid 70% of my working pay. Only after calling them because my check was short did I find out 12 days before the 30 day period they needed more documents. Still not clear of dates they need as this will cost more money to get printed. They have caused great distress through notifying you 12 days before the due date what you need to give them which is virtually unattainable at this point. ( could have been prevented by letting me know at beginning of 30 day period.) No help whatsoever due to lack of communication in a timely manner. Untimely return of phone calls. Communicated through u.s. mail, emails,(fax number did not work for two weeks) called and called finally got another fax number. Two weeks later then my claim was closed. Just making their money off of working people who pay into short term disability I guess. Unprofessional, very unhelpful especially for the few weeks I was off of work. Very stressful. I hope they never have to make a claim and deal with this type of nonsense when they get older. So much for professionalism or work ethic. Thank you for nothing and you know who you are and what you do and how you treat others. May this never be done to you.

Terrible experience for STD claimants. They don’t respond to questions in their portal and won’t return telephone calls. They funnel their questions for the medical provider to the claimant to resolve. They would rather not process your claim and force you to take vacation time as opposed to STD. The only thing keeping me from reporting them to the DOL is that I don’t want to make trouble for my employer.

I was hit by a truck in early January, covered by Sedgewick, Sedgewick made a claims statement that I accepted. I never recieved a check for the auto damage. I've called, emailed and faxed and no one has ever responded. No one seems to even be there.

This isn't the first time I had to deal with Sedgwick. The claims rep said they tried to contact me with no response. Funny cause when I called several times a day to reach them and no contact was ever made. My claims rep was in Harrisburg, PA. Beware they aren't even close to being good at their job. They are a horrible company that makes you feel like it's all your fault. No wonder they only have a 1 star rating, if I could give them a negative star I would.

All of you are so right on your negative reviews. I just started the Sedgwick journey from hell to help my husband with all the ridiculous amount of paperwork for his hip replacement surgery to get on short term disability. Of course they "didn't receive the docs" the surgeon faxed to them that the surgery was completed. Now payment of short term disability payments are "pending". I talked to 5 different people today to straighten this out. I didn't get a straight answer. I guess I'll call back Monday to do this all over again!

If I could give negative stars they would be a -10. By far the worst company I have ever had to deal with. They say they've sent paperwork to doctor and not once have they, so I have to call and hound them. Never get the same answer twice, inconsistent pay...I'm am literally typing this 3 hours after major shoulder surgery because I found out that my 2 weeks pay was maybe 15% of my pay and should've been at minimum 60% of pay. The frustration with dealing with this company is off the charts ridiculous. You can call weeks ahead of your leave being up needing an extension and check in weekly and they will still wait until a week after your leave was originally supposed to be up. I would never, ever work with this company ever again.

Horrible. They cancelled my claim due to non receipt of doctors forms. How can I make the doctors office fill out the forms ? They’ve had three weeks and I’ve been checking constantly but I can’t make them fill out forms. Why penalize the patient for sloppy follow up by doctors ? I requested an extension for the paperwork and it was denied. Now I can’t get my STD started and I’ve missed a month of pay. Thank you sedgwick. Horrible company.
