“In the first instance I found the car I was looking for online. Following a couple of emails and telephone calls with S G Petch I decided to make the purchase. My sales contact Dan was courteous and helpful and without pressure. He was able to provide me with all the information I needed and had a short video made and forwarded to me. Upon collecting my new (second hand) car lockdown had an obvious impact, it was not really possible to be given a full guided tour of the car and did mean a lot of reading on my part to familiarise myself with the instruments and controls. That was the only downside to an otherwise simple and relaxed transaction. It's been a pleasure doing business with S G Petch”

“I was left feeling a little underwhelmed by the experience of purchasing a used Alfa Romeo Stelvio. I traveled from Manchester to York to view the vehicle as according to the advertisement it had most of the key features I was looking for, including Apple Car Play, for me quite an important feature as the Alfa 'infotainment system' is poor by comparison. As I was preparing for the test drive it was confirmed to me that despite being advertised as such (I have a copy of the advertisement), the vehicle actually did not have this feature. Subsequently it was very clear that there would be negligible room for negotiation on price other than a token gesture, which ultimately I accepted. A little more care proof reading advertisement copy would be worthwhile prior to publishing in future.”

“SG Petch at Sunderland were excellent to deal with. There was no pressure or hassle from the very beginning. The salesman Nicky gave us all the information we required and knew his product well, which in turn made the whole experience a pleasure. We would certainly recommend this garage.”

“A difficult deal to negotiate as despite being a”loyal and valued customer” I had to have protracted discussions to get anywhere near what I considered acceptable. I then had to pay the full balance up front several days before taking delivery of the vehicle. Handover was equally difficult and despite the efforts of 3 salesmen, many questions I had about the many features of the vehicle remained unanswered and still do. The reason given was that training had been missed because of being furloughed. Thankfully, showroom reception, service reception and parts department are much more helpful, friendly and efficient.”

“I can only describe my experience of dealing with S G PETCH as brilliant. We chose a Sportage and was shown the car by Ricky Doughty, he was a breath of fresh air, I have dealt with numerous car salesmen in my past but Ricky made the whole process a complete pleasure, he went over and above to ease us through all aspects of the purchase followed up by courtesy calls to ensure we were pleased with the car. We cannot speak highly enough of Ricky he is a credit to your company.”

“The whole process of purchasing a car has been made relaxing due to the work of Kevin Jackson. However I do believe that especially Service Packs for KIA products and if possible Tyre and Alloy Insurance Packs should be transferable to another vehicle sold by S G Petch. GAP Insurance does give the customer a refund of outstanding cover so why not the above? This is something that should be looked into.”

“Recently picked up my nearly new Hyundai from SG Petch. The car is lovely and just what I was looking for. On first viewing and a short test drive I was hooked and decided this was the car for me. I noticed a warning light indicating that there was a problem with the tyre pressure and mentioned it to the salesman. He promised me it would be sorted during the service that would happen prior to me collecting the car the following week. A week passed and I arrived to collect my car. We sorted out all the paperwork etc and I was given the keys. On looking over the car it was obvious that the front passenger side tyre was a little soft. Again I mentioned this to the salesman. I also noticed that there was no user manual, servicing log book, or the wheel nut removal tool. The salesman looked for these items but couldn't be found. He said he would order new. I received a call a week later to collect them. The wheel nut removal tool didn't fit the nuts. I was told that a replacement would be ordered and once received I would be invited back to have the existing nuts removed and replaced with new. Over a week later this still hasn't happened. As l am still waiting for the nut removal tool and a slow puncture to deal with. I have needed to top up the air a few times now. The servicing log book also reviled that the car was not serviced as promised prior to me collecting it. It's due in two months. I have been told since that when it's due, I should call up to arrange the service and they would book it in. All these problems are small details, however they could have been sow easily avoided. My purchasing journey is still not over, but finger's crossed they will sort it out soon. All round poor performance SG Petch.”

“Been looking for a abarth turismo for ages other franchise garages were far too expensive. Sg petch were a lot cheaper by a mile and the sales team were great.”
