I bought the Pilot jacket at full price a day before it's price was reduced by 30%. The response from customer support was that I could return it if it was in perfect condition with the labels attached. I'd worn it alreadyso that was not an option. In week two of owning this high quality jacket I noticed a draught coming from the pocket area and on inspection the stitiching on the inner pocket lining is unstitched. The jacket is generally good but the lack of reasonable customer service and the quality of the stitching leaves me disappointed with the brand.

Sweater came with a one year warranty. A small hole appeared on the underside of the arm and I was advised that it could be repaired under warranty. I spent nearly £10 returning it to be told that I’d caught it on something and caused the damage. The position of the hole would make that very difficult and there is no loose threads which I’d expect. I’m expected to pay £30 (including return postage - generous) to get my item back. That would mean a spend of £40. What is the point of the warranty? I’ve purchased seven Shackleton items so far and I think that might be it now.

Explorer Jacket Warning; This jacket is NOT rainproof. I appreciate that a waxed cotton garment is never going to be comparable to a manmade fiber equivalent and one may have to accept some water ingress in poor weather conditions especially in areas of movement or friction (eg shoulders etc). I bought this jacket in January and on the fourth time I used it I was caught in a light rain shower during a 20 minute dog walk. On getting home I noticed my shoulders were damp. Closer inspection revealed that water had readily soaked through to the inside of the cotton fabric in all areas that had got wet during the brief spell of rain. I wrote to Shackleton to explain and I also asked about their returns/refund procedure. In their reply they state that the Explorer Jacket is NEITHER WINDPROOF NOR WATERPROOF ! And that I would not get a refund. I have carefully re-read the description and it is fair to say that there are no claims as to if this jacket is rainproof, but I feel the implication is there because of the high praise given about the cotton material used in manufacture and phrases such as 'An excellent all season companion'. This garnment is clearly more a fashion item than outdoor clothing.

Love the products and the history behind the brand, I. Ought a haakron jacket a few weeks ago, but didn’t get the internal jacket as the advert suggested. On contacting customer service, they said they were wrong and they would upgrade and send me another base jacket, to this day not heard a thing , which I’m very disappointed about. Customer service is very very slow.

I ordered two jackets and have tried to send one back. After 4 emails I had no response. Zero communication despite the returns policy saying that I could return. Eventually spike to a person at the London store - found number online. Poor after sales.

I bought a pair of socks and the merino-cashmere beanie. The socks were supposed to fit 8-9.5 US, but are way too big and not very thick, especially for the price. The hat fits well (after removal of the huge inside label) and is warm, and comfortable but not nearly as thick and warm as expected for the price and from the picture on the site. So, overall, the socks are not usable and the hat, while very nice, is not a great value--I expected much more for the price.

There is no sign of my jacket delivery - I've tried to reach out via email to make an inquiry but no reply. Would love to know where my jacket is! I am in the US - if that makes a difference then someone should alert me. Many thanks Eliza

Bit of a mixed bag. Jumper didn’t arrive for a month but I was sent a complimentary sweater which was very nice. Unfortunately the jumper just didn’t fit me when it turned up so I returned it. That was about 6 weeks ago and I haven’t as yet had the refund.
