“Product is OK, not as simple to use as expected, connects to most things with different attachments. First one had a hole in had to pay £18 to return the item before a new one was dispatched no offer of refunding of the postage, think I'd pay a bit more and get something different”

“We enjoy our Pod when camping for several days in one place. For shorter stays, including just a weekend, we’ve found that the effort of putting it up undermines the reason for having a camper i.e. a quick setup. If ever there was an inflatable version, that’d be something we’d very much take an interest in. Overall, SheltaPod remains a great idea and when one of our poles broke on first use we were pleased with the quick response. Thanks”

“We had the very first Sheltapod in orange we had to purchase the windshields and the ground sheet separately although I now think they come all in. We are very happy with it all and use it every time we go out in the van, it takes no time at all to put up. Would definitely recommend it for any type of vehicle”

“Love the look of this awning and is useful extra space. However, quite tricky to assemble and definitely needs two people to do it if there is any wind. It is too wide for some campsite motorhome pitches.”

“I have only used the pod twice each time on a weekend stay the pod is good used the rear of the car to cook out of with the canopy from the pod to the car tailgate good for keeping the rain off you. not so good for the wind though used the side canopy these are ok but do not go to the top of the canopy. it would be absolutely fantastic if there was an option to have a full cover on the sides to fully enclose to the rear of the car tailgate along with a sheet between the rear of the car boot to the ground then we could get some real use out of the pod. We comprised with a plastic sheet and tie wraps The pod is good for what it is a touring tent easy to pitch up the options are all good for the different configurations I haven't used the different configuration set ups as I just wanted a pitch up and go ideal for that however I did notice the last time I packed the pod away the fly sheet had a small hole in it would have been nice to have a patch kit supplied with the pod all poles are durable pegs are good quality overall good quality product. We use fishing camp beds to sleep on & there is plenty of room for two I would image a tight fit for four I have since purchased another tent that is more suitable for the British weather and longer pitch times”

Hi Chris While we don't currently have plans to increase the side coverage, some customers have found that bringing the pod closer to the vehicle with the awning material reaching over the top sufficiently narrows the gap for them. You can use the webbing straps to make sure it is secure. We will have a patch kit sent out to you for that hole in the fly sheet :) Thank you for the review and feedback.

“Loving every minute we’ ve had our ‘pod. So versatile, mind you should have a little practice putting it up. We ve mostly used ours without the tent insert as we had such a good summer. My only issue would be to sell all the window blinds with the original package, although I realise that would be an increase in cost, it would be beneficial. All in very impressed, five star service and great piece of kit”

“not happy, took much longer to erect than stated, the description at the time was ambiguous about attaching it to a vehicle in as much as it gave the impression that only for the drive away facility did one need to purchase the kador strip. sold it after one use.”

We're sorry that you were not happy with your purchase. A kador strip is necessary for driveaway set up and/or if your C Channel is a different size to the 6mm beading of the SheltaPod, in which case a kador conversion strip is required.
