Went to the Specsavers pitt St mall in Sydney 7 times to fix a new pair of top tier multi focal glasses. Measurements were wrong the first time and they needed to get it redone. 3 mths later issue is not fixed and it’s too near year end, lost private health rebates for this year. No customer recovery for travel costs to the shop and the gruelling (and unnecessary) tests that I was put through. Bad explanation and service from the start even by the director of that franchise. Should have informed that multi focal lens is not a good option from the start to save all the time and physical discomfort. Avoid this franchise and go to others.

Specsavers has gone downhill. All they want is your money. I have been with them for 20 years and they turned into hyenas from 2018!!! Poor customer service from the store managers and directors. It’s not so much the staff. It is their leaders that lack customer service and professional etiquette. They are rude, dismissive and helpful. Specsavers is the worst optical company to go to for eye care. It is a sham to the public and to me. They are only nice when it comes to upwelling and taking your money BUT when it comes to defective glasses under warranty and you trying to assert your legal rights that’s when they become nasty and unprofessional that includes hanging up on you and threatening you with police! My review is across two stores!!! Avoid Specsavers! The worst stores is the Watford and Rickmansworth Store in Hertforshire!!!! I’ve reported this sham of an optical company to optical regulators. Aftab Sham director of the Watford and Ali Hashim director of Rickmansworth store have been both been the worst experience I’ve had after 18 years!!! AVOID AVOID AVOID!

Just bought a new pair of glasses with a 1.6 lens free, was very happy until i went to collect the glasses and discovered the lenses were very thick!!! Staff at wimbledon branch tried to justify it... being wearing glasses for the last 40 years and prescription is the same Suspected thicker lenses were used.decided to order 1.67 thickness for an extra 20 pounds.will collect next week but i told them i expext same thickness as the ones i have. Specsavers used to be very good but recently they are being very greedy using cheap misleading marketing techniques.i will post again when i get the 1.67 lens.

Had eye test , which was great . I was then shown glasses at £89 and with the test etc , bill came to £138 ! as a pensioner , I feel I should have been told there were glasses available ranging from £19 and £49 . so now feel they are definitely out to take as much money as they can get !

Verifocals tailor made poor quality in terms of being able to use them and yes I’ve had verifocals for years but not from specsavers until now.

Such a shame. I had an appointment this morning at the Long Eaton branch for an eye test via my work eye care scheme. I have particular issue when using computers as my relatively new job which involves using a screen for 40 hours a week and my eyes feel strained over long periods - this was all voiced before my eye test. My test concluded that I should have glasses for my work computer but they ''could help" if I had them for reading too. When shown to my potential glasses I was told I do not qualify under my works VDU free glasses scheme as I'm 'borderline' and there's a 'chance' it will 'help' if I use them for reading. What a con! 6 of my colleagues have experienced the exact same issue that they were 'borderline' and have since refused to go to Specsavers for there tests for the last few years. I attended with an open mind having never needed glasses ever before and got told exactly the same. I find it disgraceful that these buzz words are used to try to evoke more money from people. The staff put money before health of their patients and that is, quite frankly, disgusting. As my colleagues attended different stores I suspect its guidance from above rather than the in store staff themselves. I will be taking my expensive prescription elsewhere and I suggest other people do the same.

Specsavers North End Croydon Booked appointment online for 10:45h on 26.11.20 and a day leave from work to attend the appointment. On reaching as usual everyone was queuing with the social distancing. I was called inside by a staff, he asked me whether I have an appointment and replied positively. He asked me to sit and wait. After an hour no one attended to me. I went to a staff and complained of it. There was another staff there and they both seemed confused and looking at each other and murmuring “why he did that”. There was no apology and was again told to wait and I’ll be seen. After 15 mins around 12:00h no one attended to me and I left Specsavers premises as they seem to be very unprofessional in customer approach and appear not knowing what they are doing. Will never use them.

My experiences with Specsavers has always been awful. I went in this branch to make an appointment to try on some frames. They told me l couldn't, and had to rebook an eye test even though l had recently done one with vision express, l just wanted a new frame. I decided no 'biggie' l do a new test if that is what's required to try on some frames. Did the test, looked at the frames and couldn't find one to fit so I told the staff l would have to order on line and bring it in for deglazing to which the staff agreed that it would be ok. l bought one online, booked my visit and went back to the same branch. At the door l explained to the staff my situation, she started frowning and then proceeded to ask me if l had a receipt for the new frame (which was in the seller package) and that l could have stolen it from the street. I was so depressed about this situation never the less l showed her the email from the seller which she couldn't understand anyway. Most of the staffs' behavior and attitude at this branch are just incorrigible and always making all sorts of regulations on the fly. I hope l never visit this awful Medway branch ever again.

Not a bad experience this time. Could someone enlighten me why I had to pay £253.00 for new lenses to be fitted to the glasses I previously bought from specsavers. I think they are there only to make money. I have used Specsavers for years but I won't be going back. Bloody RIP off. In fact I may take this to Angela Rippon at RIP off Britain

Visited Crosby store Eye test good explained things really well. Bought a pair of glasses £169 with a pair free Paid to have lens thinned down final cost over £490 came back really thick told assistant not happy she said thats what they did, went back a few days later manageress sent one pair back still thick on return both vision and area of vision worse than old glasses. New glasses sitting in a draw useless would never go back there, going to Asda in future and price you see is the price you pay.

Specsavers takes so long to get anything done. It took me 3 days to try and find out my contact lense prescription from the limerick shop, which is needed for me to buy lenses each month in Cork. I still do not know what it is. They do not share their customer information across the shops, so it is extremely awkward and archaic system. In Cork, after waiting 30 mins, I was told to go home and that I would be phoned because Limerick would not answer the phone. Also they did not have my contact lenses in stock. I was never called back. A few days later, I tried again. In the end the manager in cork rang me and said that I had to get my eyes tested again for 25E because the Limerick shop were not answering their phone and they cant give me my lenses since they do not have my prescription. Bear in mind I buy my lenses every month here and the last two times I was in there I specifically asked for them to leave a note on my file so they have my prescription saved. They said they would, but not sight nor sound of my prescription saved on their system. I decided I am done with how difficult it is to deal with Specsavers and the time wasting. Not to mind 50E per month for lenses. I still needed my prescription to buy lenses online. I rang Limerick who answered straight away. The lady would not tell me what the strength of my prescription is. I cannot remember which strength is for my left eye, and which for my right and I need to know this. I am pretty fuming about this. I will be taking my business elsewhere and I have spent many many years as a customer in specsavers. Very disappointed.

This organisation should now reinvent themselves with a name change.. I understand they named themselves as spec..savers I cannot see the savings £35 for an eye test is not saving.. this is quite typical a business starts by creating value and when expand to succès reality is lost a d greed sets in Their prices are a rip off they do not demonstrate care for customers to save in particular at this terrible time where many people are struggling financially I urge all to use small independent opticians at the very least the public can create value by supporting a small business who is probably owned by one or two people who also have a family to support and for the greedy to get in touch with reality demonstrating gratitude and not to rip people off

I wanted to demonstrate my disappointment with the store. I did a eye test for contact lenses. I bought my lenses, the same that I have used for years at another store (which is my right), so I put them on I couldn't see 100% well. I went back to the store and explained the situation but nothing was done, I would have to pay another test. If my degree was verified wrong why should I pay another test. Fast service without giving due attention to the customer. I don't recommend it to anyone.

Be very careful when your taking a vulnerable person or a carer of a person who has mental health issues as the staff at biggleswade branch have a great way of trying to hard sell products that they don't need I see this happen once while waiting for an eye test to an ederley lady and the person who I took also had the same thing happen to her and became very distressed and upset about the whole situation so be very careful

I spent over an hour in store then a good half and a hour choosing glasses (due to the member of staff who was ‘helping me’ constantly passing me glasses I didn’t like!) then I was asked were the glasses for reading or computer work. I explained that I had told several members of staff it was a corporate eye test. Eventually I was told my prescription hadn’t changed and that I had seen a trainee optician who was supervised (which he wasn’t!!) Next day I phoned the Store to ask the manager to contact me and have heard nothing. Awful service all round and I still have no idea if I need new glasses!
