“As I’m reading through all the reviews I can see I’m not the only one who keeps getting glasses that are the wrong prescription my eyesight has hardly changed in years and only need glasses to read for work but I don’t use them for much else , told the optician what I needed them for but have had to go back twice to get the lenses replaced as I can’t even see out of them properly old glasses are great new ones rubbish . I even tried my partners on and can see perfectly with his needless to say I have to go back and get them sorted after this time I won’t go back to Specsavers again ever worst service ever ....”

“It took five attempts to collect the correct glasses, three eye tests, and several trips to the store since November to get the glasses I have now, and they are even made based on a prescription from a different company. Specsavers failed to get me the right glasses (wrong prescription by their optician & missed quality checks). All I wanted was some new frames I liked at Specsavers and ended up with too much trouble. Will try somewhere else next time.”
“I have been going to Specsavers for many years. There have been some issues in the past with poor fitting but this time has been the worst.
I had my eye test in September 2020 I've just been back again with the manager saying there is nothing else that can be done dismissing me from the store. I have been going back to the Feltham store on average every 2 weeks since September, incurring parking expenses every time. After the first couple of returns they decided I needed another eye test. It turned out that the prescription was too strong. So I waited for the new prescription to be put into my the frames. I went to collect them, they didn't fit. They adjusted them or should I say heated them up and bent them. Then the line vision was wrong. They adjusted them again. Eventually so out of shape they had to replace the frames. This has gone on for 6 months. And to top it all off, my daughters lenses on her glasses came out again for the second time. With my glasses and hers I have spent over £600. Today I was offered 50% off more glasses! I will not be returning. Shameful.”
“Awful company! Second pair of glasses that a spring tensioner have fallen out of the Marc Jacobs frames (£149 total sales cost of glasses £737.00. Discounted down to £429. only to be told that frames just over a year old are discontinued. I personally believe they give you big discounts based on bulk purchase end of line stock. How can they sell frames with no spares available on frames bought just over fifteen months ago?”
“I'm just absolutely horrified, after spending well over £300 at the beginning of December, I'm just about to take back my 3rd remake, as the glasses are still causing me double vision! Over 3 months later I don't have glasses I can wear. My old glasses aren't sharp enough but they don't give me double vision. Shame because I really liked the frames, but I'm sick of wasting my time, and need some glasses I can actually wear. I'll never go back.”
“I received a letter saying I was due my eye test (NHS over 65 free over 65) I booked and travelled on the due date. Only to be told the was an error. I was a year early, someone had forgotten to up date the computer. I incurred fuel and parking costs, but more importantly the risk of Covid. Also I bet they will charge the NHS for the appointment that was not necessary.”
“Not at all satisfied...after spending £180. I still couldn't see properly with new glasses...shocking customer service from one optician...couldn't be bothered so just offered a refund which I took.”
“@Specsavers appointment 840 I go booked 3 weeks back.8 staff stood around at Barnsley shop.
Tell me glasses not in .
Lied to about ringing me .they don't even have curtisy to phone to say glasses not in
Your ship is a joke felt like I was at fault due to your mistakes
Last pair of glasses I buy from you spent £500.
Now have to wait till when ever if they can be bothered to post them out been told Tuesday. But that will be another lie

Specsavers 0 stars
Avoid this company as they take your money and lie to you and don't even notifie you when glasses don't come in.
Specsavers you put me at
#risk #covid19.
By not letting me no
So to all stay away from them got else ware”
“Went to the Specsavers pitt St mall in Sydney 7 times to fix a new pair of top tier multi focal glasses. Measurements were wrong the first time and they needed to get it redone. 3 mths later issue is not fixed and it’s too near year end, lost private health rebates for this year. No customer recovery for travel costs to the shop and the gruelling (and unnecessary) tests that I was put through. Bad explanation and service from the start even by the director of that franchise. Should have informed that multi focal lens is not a good option from the start to save all the time and physical discomfort.
Avoid this franchise and go to others.”
“Specsavers has gone downhill. All they want is your money. I have been with them for 20 years and they turned into hyenas from 2018!!! Poor customer service from the store managers and directors. It’s not so much the staff. It is their leaders that lack customer service and professional etiquette. They are rude, dismissive and helpful. Specsavers is the worst optical company to go to for eye care. It is a sham to the public and to me. They are only nice when it comes to upwelling and taking your money BUT when it comes to defective glasses under warranty and you trying to assert your legal rights that’s when they become nasty and unprofessional that includes hanging up on you and threatening you with police! My review is across two stores!!! Avoid Specsavers! The worst stores is the Watford and Rickmansworth Store in Hertforshire!!!! I’ve reported this sham of an optical company to optical regulators. Aftab Sham director of the Watford and Ali Hashim director of Rickmansworth store have been both been the worst experience I’ve had after 18 years!!! AVOID AVOID AVOID!”
“Just bought a new pair of glasses with a 1.6 lens free, was very happy until i went to collect the glasses and discovered the lenses were very thick!!! Staff at wimbledon branch tried to justify it... being wearing glasses for the last 40 years and prescription is the same
Suspected thicker lenses were used.decided to order 1.67 thickness for an extra 20 pounds.will collect next week but i told them i expext same thickness as the ones i have. Specsavers used to be very good but recently they are being very greedy using cheap misleading marketing techniques.i will post again when i get the 1.67 lens.”
“Had eye test , which was great . I was then shown glasses at £89 and with the test etc , bill came to £138 ! as a pensioner , I feel I should have been told there were glasses available ranging from £19 and £49 . so now feel they are definitely out to take as much money as they can get !”
“Such a shame.
I had an appointment this morning at the Long Eaton branch for an eye test via my work eye care scheme. I have particular issue when using computers as my relatively new job which involves using a screen for 40 hours a week and my eyes feel strained over long periods - this was all voiced before my eye test. My test concluded that I should have glasses for my work computer but they ''could help" if I had them for reading too.
When shown to my potential glasses I was told I do not qualify under my works VDU free glasses scheme as I'm 'borderline' and there's a 'chance' it will 'help' if I use them for reading. What a con! 6 of my colleagues have experienced the exact same issue that they were 'borderline' and have since refused to go to Specsavers for there tests for the last few years.
I attended with an open mind having never needed glasses ever before and got told exactly the same. I find it disgraceful that these buzz words are used to try to evoke more money from people. The staff put money before health of their patients and that is, quite frankly, disgusting. As my colleagues attended different stores I suspect its guidance from above rather than the in store staff themselves.
I will be taking my expensive prescription elsewhere and I suggest other people do the same.”
“Specsavers North End Croydon
Booked appointment online for 10:45h on 26.11.20 and a day leave from work to attend the appointment. On reaching as usual everyone was queuing with the social distancing. I was called inside by a staff, he asked me whether I have an appointment and replied positively. He asked me to sit and wait. After an hour no one attended to me. I went to a staff and complained of it. There was another staff there and they both seemed confused and looking at each other and murmuring “why he did that”. There was no apology and was again told to wait and I’ll be seen. After 15 mins around 12:00h no one attended to me and I left Specsavers premises as they seem to be very unprofessional in customer approach and appear not knowing what they are doing. Will never use them.”
“I bought spacesaver glasses I done compete mistake.... The order complete wrong glasses the quality very poop... It was same feeling like you bought to a pound shop... I paid”
