Blind in one eye because I wasn't sent to eye clinic when I first had wet macular 2 years ago. It wasn't till I had the symptoms 2 years later that they managed to get me an appointment. Too late the eye was damaged. Warning if you have wet macular get an eye clinic appointment immediately it could save your eyes.

They didn't make me happy 😞 I made an appointment for eye sight test as i was having pain in my eye got told I needed an emergency trearge test but no test available at that particular shop told they would try another shop and get back to me failing that advised to go to walk-ins at hospital tat was over 24hrs ago and haven't heard anything back from them and I'm not sure if I want to go and spend 8 hrs plus waiting at the local hospital..

I serious complaint hello to make I visited specsavers on Tottenham coach road and they are very helpful and courteous but I am very offended by an experience I had recently and this is it I was being attended to by one of the customer rep there and while he was talking to me I noticed that he had sick mucus running down out of his nose I was a beaten barrister to tell him but I eventually did he went one-siding to the office got some tissue however when he returned to me shortly after I still notice thick mucus still running down out of his nose seek yellow mucus so I mildly told him but my concern he's how can such a person be dealing with the public this is atrocious and highly offensive to me I usually have good experience there I'm not talking about that but I am concerned about the hygiene how can someone with thick mucus running out of their nose be dealing with customize and even if they do he should have gone to the bathroom and thoroughly cleaned himself washe hiss hands and come back but it seems like he didn't really think anything was wrong because he came back with his nose still running see this could you please address this problem is very very upsetting and not hygienic I am appalled and shocked. To be truthful voice I was a bit embarrassed to tell him a third time but perhaps if I go back I am going to spell it out and say go to the bathroom and blow your nose properly and then come back because I don't really want to continue being served until this is done!

I was seen promptly on my arrival in the store in Hereford and my initial pressure test was performed professionally , however the ophthalmologist who conducted my sight test was very flippant and asked inappropriate questions and joked over inappropriate subjects and also discussed his personal health issues . This was in no sense a professional eye examination . I realise that this was an attempt to make conversation but this needs to be toned down so that it isn’t personal and patronizing . The person who then dealt with my varifocal adjustments and measurements was a pleasure to interact with, very kind , caring and adhered to professional barriers .

Really disappointed, they refused to change the lenses in my own glasses, really unhelpful and only interested if your paying their prices for frames of which I could find nothing I liked. I won't go to specsavers again. I don't know why the word savers appears in the name as they don't seem to save anyone any money looking at most of these reviews.

Went to my pre-booked appointment at the Kingswood, Bristol shop today 22 December, to pick up glasses and get them checked for fitting. Told to sit at the desk and wait for service operative. Sat for around 15-20 minutes - no show although the shop was pretty empty and they served another customer for fitting who arrived long after me. Eventually tried on my glasses and felt they were ok and so I left handing in the plastic bag to the front desk. Girl said 'thank you' and I left puzzled at the lack of customer service. Texted them afterwards for comments - no reply. Mmmm!

The optometrist was very good and other staff very friendly but the glasses are not. I paid £450 for reading and long distance. I needed lightweight frames so had Titanium and thinner lenses which bumped up price. After quite a few visits and then a change of glasses I am still in a lot of discomfort behind ears and on nose. If I could just pop in and get adjustments done it would be simpler but told each time I had to make an appointment. Feel I'm on a losing battle.

Satisfactory experience at the Stanmore branch of this opticians on Church Road having my first eye test, although made to wait about half an hour longer than booked. Frame selections are okay, but a little more variety would be welcome! Staff service was fine but again could be bettered with a little more listening and understanding of customer needs.

Annoyed S Choudhury @ Specsavers Boscombe said I could not have proof of my new glasses being needed for VDU use; her reason being that they are for concentration and VDU, how do you not concentrate when using VDU and if VDU comes under use why can I not get proof? So many hidden charges also shocked me and the amount of people in the building during this virus risk time. All other staff were helpful though. Also on my first visit I could not see the field test but had mentioned S Choudhury had told me to where my glasses, still they told me to take my glasses off; result I could not see the test. I have been going to this branch for years, but I shall not in future unless they provide me with the proof of VDU use.

Always rated your service highly for both contact lenses and glasses, however I visited Boots Opticians and have now changed my mind as their offers on glasses far better. I found the quality and range of glasses far superior. I am now considering changing to Boots the Opticians for both contact lens service and glasses.I found Boots cheaper and offer a more up to date choice for glasses. Sorry Specsavers !

26th May 2019 one optician put drops in my eyes in dark room without telling me, from that day to today I can see without glasses complain several times nothing when to the doctor, they can't figure out the chemical, but gave me medicine normally use for healing an eye wound

Disappointing. I was advised I needed a contact lens check by letter (which didn't mention a cost). Got an appointment quickly which was good (no cost mentioned). Once the test was underway, the optometrist asked if I had been told it was £25 for the test. I replied no (though expected a fee). She advised she could waive this fee if I signed up to a monthly subscription for contacts (I pay as I go normally). I felt trapped as I either had to pay a fee and buy my lenses or sign up. Obviously, it made more sense to sign up ( though I only wear contacts occasionally, so I took the lowest package). The assistant who completed the direct debit paperwork advised that I now needed to pay three months in advance. I asked if that meant I didn't pay anymore for three months, and was advised I did, so I was always paying two months in advance. I was told that the first 10 pairs would be sent to the branch for me to collect, and the further lenses would be posted directly to me. I realised on reflection that I was not asked what date I wanted the direct debit to come out of my account. I received a text a couple of days later to say my contact lenses were ready and picked them up. When I got home and opened them, I realised that had been given 30 pairs. Not what I was told. The whole experience I felt was misleading and I signed up because I felt trapped. I am now paying more than before for my contacts.

London Tottenham Court Road My first appointment was on 17 July for an eye test, the gentleman who checked my eyes saw me for 7-10mins, returned to collect my new glasses to find that they were not what I ordered in both frames and lenses. The information had been changed on the form from reactorlight to sunglasses! DOH. The dispensing manager Katie was extremely helpful and supportive and arranged to have them sent back and that I would have the right pair within a week. I went to collect them a week later, the frames right this time. After about 2-3days of trying my new glasses at home there was something else wrong. I went back again, chatted to Katie, she checked the lenses and according to the paperwork the lenses were correct! I booked another appointment to have my eyes checked again. Appointment was on 25 July with a gentleman called James. He was baffled as to what the problem might be. I have had optic neuritis in my right eye in the past and because of this he sent me to Moorfields A+E Dept to be checked. Waited 3 hours to be seen and was sent home with eye drops for dry eye, no sign of optic neuritis! So, went back to Specsavers for another eye check on 7 August. This time I saw a lovely lady called Sita. She spotted the problem more or less straightaway. The original form from 17 July had the wrong lens strength typed in, 10 instead of 100!!! After all the backwards and forwards, trip to Moorfields it took someone with the intelligence and patience to spot the problem by reading the inputted information correctly. I would like to say a BIG thank you to Katie and Sita at Specsavers Tottenham Court Road for their patience, diligence and care and attention for dealing with my problem in a professional way. If any management read this you must value and support these two people as they are a huge asset to your company. You should always listen to staff on the shop floor as they are at the front and centre of customer service and need to be recognised for the very good job that they do. Anyone else reading this I can highly recommend Katie and Sita at the Tottenham Court Road Store.

Excellent young optician but total lack of empathy and training in dealing with custmers with dementia even though my mother is a regular customer and known to them in the Milton Keynes branch. The audiology department is excellent. Fortunately I accompanied my Mother and could modify the language used by the optician to express things in a form of language she could understand. A truly stressful experience.

Went into Specsavers yesterday because I had lost my glasses . I told the young lady I needed to get some replacements as cheaply as possible . We spoke about what I needed them for .. mainly watching TV and driving and that I was wondering if plain distance glasses would be OK as I had some reading glasses . She didn`t comment much on this but measured me up for varifocals as this is what I had before losing them . I chose the cheapest frames at £25. She quoted a price of £148 ! She didn`t tell me the price of distance glasses {£25} or explain that varifocals are so much more , I assume she imagined that I would know ? I did decide on the distance glasses of course but I feel it is very poor to not give the customer all the facts . It was very embarrassing .

We went into the Coventry city centre store this afternoon to enquire about some sports glasses for my 11 year son. Only to have the unhelpful assistant at the desk to say that there was a minimum of 20 minutes wait. All we wanted was a tough price and to have a look a display paid to be told that they don't have one even though I could see a pair of swimming goggles on display. She said she didn't know how much they would be approximately. We was made to feel like a complete inconvenience. We have used Spec Savers for over 7 years and wouldn't go anywhere else. But after the poor effortless service we went to Boots where the assistant got a brochure and price for us so I will be ordering my son's glasses from Boots. Not only does my son have his glasses from you but do I and my husband. SO SO DISAPPOINTED unfortunately I didn't get the your assistants name she had shoulder length black curly hair with glasses in her 30ies not seen her before there. Look forward to hearing from you Karen Tranter

It seems to be a well organised marketing ploy by specssvers to lure you in with a “Free Eye Test” and then offer you 2 for the price of 1 spectacles - then your processed with no mention of overall cost - then your brought to a counter in the middle of the floor to be given the news on what you are expected to pay. You then have a waiting public audience looking at you. Most people put on a brave face and pay with a smile when they really are shocked inside. There then is a sudden switch from your debit card to pay with the credit card. All begins with “Free Eye Test” ends with you paying hundreds of Euro or Pounds.... Am I the only person that thinks this?
