Had my eyes tested, then was told that I needed bifocal lens, told them that I just needed reading glasses, and hated looking down to read as it hurts my neck. I was promised to give it a try, if not happy, come back within 30 days. Once again I had a massive headache, lasting over 2 weeks, try to return the and was told it was not possible, after pleading with staff at the Arndale branch, they decided that they could only change one. I now have just the use of 1 , the other is just there cannot be used. Feeling tricked....Next time I will find elsewhere and tell friends to think twice with Specsavers

Absolute Muppets this company is . Went to get my daughter's two pairs of glasses and one pair was completely wrong . Was told they would be send them back to sort the issue out and we would receive a phone call when they were back in .We did not receive a call for two weeks so we phoned them to be told they are in the shop for collection . Went back the following day to be informed that thier has been a mistake and the same pair which were wrong to start off with are still in there shop😡 . Bloody waste of time and idiot staff. Don't waste your time with them 😡😡

Recently had really bad experience with specsavers. On 3 March attended St Albans Everard branch for detailed eye test requested by DVLA so i could renew my 70+ licence. The optician did thorough test and was going to send results to DVLA today I received letter from DVLA banning me from driving immediately as they had not received report. Specsavers say they cant resend report until specialist who wrote report comes back in June. Totally incompetent when its not my fault. I have disabled wife who i now cant get around and we now have to cancel our summer holiday. Rang DVLA medical centre who didn't want to know futhermore was unable to pick up my grandchildren from school today as their mother was ill and had to wait in school for their father to get home later bith organisations so unkind

After 6 weeks of not being able to see properly and being told lies it still has not been resolved I went to Specsavers because money it tight firstly I asked the question how can you do them so cheap? Now I know how Week one went to the shop to collect my glasses and have them fitted, when I told them that I could not see properly I was told that it would take time for my eyes and brain to adjust and not to go back to my old glasses, so I placed them it the recycling box in the shop ( big mistake on my behalf) after 2 weeks still having problems with my vision made a appointment and was told that I had not given them time , so home I went , another 2 weeks and still no improvement, driving was nightmare infant my hole life was now I blurry picture with a constant headache, on my last appointment I was told to come back in 3 weeks After 2 more weeks I could not cope so phone call to Specsavers asking for advice Went to the shop and asked for a refund I was told the money would be in my account in 2 hours 24 hours later still no money and no glasses I was lied to all the time from start to finish Conclusion 6 weeks of not being able to see properly No money to purchase new glasses 5 trips to the store 20 mile round trip I now have no glasses and no money How can you let someone leave the store not being able to see I now have to go into my overdraft with the bank all because I tried to save money People please be careful if you use this company and hold on to your old glasses you might need them It’s not all about the money you eye are precious you only get one pair unlike glasses

I paid for glasses on 1st MAY 2023..yes 1 year ago from the Watford branch. I walked in on a number of occasions only to be accused of being a lier by the manager- a loud mouth lady who is a bully. Anyhow, we are a year on..I have tried in various forms to get resolution to..they have never contacted..only only was to share my details on social media which I declined. Please from my experience AVOID this branch!

I went to Specsavers in Ludlow, as the arm had broken off my titanium frames. I was first told I hadn't had them from that branch and then they could only put an unmatching arm on for £7.00. My glasses were placed down on the counter lenses downwards, she put finger prints all over them and when she looked at my account they did come from that branch. I won't be using that branch again.

I had the unfortunate experience of seeing the so called contact lens expert in your Alfreton branch, I was suffering irritation with a lens purchased the branch, on examination the expert stated that there was a fault with the lens and it had caused an irritation to my eye. during my visit I purchase new spectacles, replacement lenses, drops to ease my eye damage wit a cost of over £350, on checkout I expected the faulty lense to be replaced foc, and made given the drops but was told by this so called expert I would have to pay full price and that they would not even replace the faulty lens. To provide a balanced review the service I recieved from Sam who helped me purchase my glasses was exceptional, as was the lady who tested my eyes. The lens expert on the other hand was an absolute tool and is the reason why I will never use spec savers again

I went to Specssavers to change the lenses, they refused to change lenses unless a new eye test was done. Did then then the test, however been sold another eye pressure test for glaucoma and eye muscles, no issues. But this test should not interfere the results of your eye test But it should not done straight away after the pressure test, it may interfere depend how long it takes for the blurriness to subside . They then changed my original grade from +1.50 to +2.75, if one individual change from one day to another day the grade this individual must be very ignorant with its own eyesight which is not my case, I only use my glasses for painting nails . I refused to have the changes and asked to have my original grade and I am still waiting after 3 weeks. The only way for them to make money is by changing grades of your glasses then they try to convince you that you will get use to the changes, which made almost vomit and gave me so much headache for using the glasses for just 45 minutes. I went back returned and I am still waiting for the inefficiency of the staff that are brainwashed to sell more. They are scammers

I use eye contact lenses from this store in Angel and I pay £43 per month. Last week, one of the contact lenses became stuck inside my right eye and I was unable to take it out so much that I couldn’t sleep that night. The following morning, I went to spec savers to tell them and for them to take a look at my eye. The front of house staff were trying to be helpful but management refused to provide any help/guidance and said that I needed to book an appointment and pay £25. It’s a real shame that a professional eye company like this wouldn’t be able to provide some help without a fee.

I am very disappointed with Specsavers to say the least! I've tried to get a hearing test at least 5 times, each time being unsuccessful because the excuse was an audiologist wasn't available! What's the point in offering the free service! 😡I will NOT being recommending Specsavers to anyone 😤 Complete shambles 😤

After a delightful optition analysis completed. I was sat with a rep Mrs Sonia Palmer. From the onset after explaining my need to reglaze my existing frames only. I was ridiculed and spoken in a condescending manner. In an attempt to embarrass a customer into buying new frames. Comments stated but a few, "I see your from Birmingham, why have you come here? Condersendingly. This lady began critiquing the state of the frames and stated the "lens technician" may refuse to fit them. I asked for clarity and certainty of such a decision of a technician a over specsavers. I completed a "Repair and Reglaze" form. Noting condition. Just before signing form Mrs Parmer added text to the form. At this point I was concerned the contents of the form may alter after signing. A copy was taken. The order was placed and paid in full. The collection date was 2 days after order Fri 3rd May. I called again to see if they are ready as ordered, to be told "it's going to be next Fri ". A week later! I spoke to "Mr Chi" Manager, who came back with many reasons why they we're not ready as ordered. The fact that I was never called to advised on a change of order, is bad, but to be fobbed off is another. I have asked the manager to see why such a simple order is now so badly delivered.

Picked up my glasses from store today, The lenses gave me blurred and double vision. I couldn’t read as well as I can with my old glasses! The member of staff didn’t seem to care, ignored my concerns and asked me if they fitted ok! No-one apologised. I did worry after my eye test was performed by an unregistered optician and new glasses fitted by an employee that had to constantly ask other colleagues for advice and help ?trainee?) I have had glasses from Specsavers for many years, I won’t be going back.

Where do you start? Noone know what they are doing in any of these stores anymore? Been a customer for ten years or more, then on my last visit, was told that because i didnt pay for the oct scan i was not getting a photo of my eye like normal where you see your eye on that big screen. Then i was told i had to pay for my eyetes because there was no change in my prescription but i was told i was not seeing well because of my cataracts but how would i have known that? I then paid for varifocals at £200 odd pounds to not see any better, they fitted so badly my ears were bleeding, i was then told well your not gonna see that wel out if them if youve got cataracts? My eyetest lasted all of about 8mins, the only person who seemed to have a clue what was going on was the opthamologist? The guy who did the eyetest and the qualfied optician who refunded me for the glasses he claimed i never needed in the first place? What a complete waste of my time? Never going back

I am diabetic and have been having pain behind the eyes and wanted an eye test . I am entitled to a yearly eye test free (I’m over 69) I booked a test with no problem but on the day I was told that if my prescription hasn’t changed I would be charged. The manager told me it would down to the optician if I should have a test using my 13 month old test as a reference whether I would need another test (I’ve heard nothing ). I know doesn’t make sense does it ? . If the optician hasn’t seen me how would he know . I felt quite humiliated in front of waiting customers and while I could well afford it I opted to walk . I said thank you and left. On reflection I felt a little cheated as I have gone no where else for over ten years and have spent a lot of money with them . They have always had a problem with the lenses fitting into the frames on my past new spectacles and even after correction they never get it right . I persevered with what I was given . The two pairs I have now have lenses that are not seated correctly. Enough .
