I am writing this review to express my sincere disappointment with the Global Work & Travel Co. In February last year my partner and I were thinking of going over to Canada for a once in a lifetime experience, working the following winter season in Canada. We thought to take a lot of the stress and worry out of finding jobs we would go through the Global Work & Travel Co. We spent over $1800 each to ensure everything would run smoothly and we would be completely organised in advance. Your team from your Surfers Paradise office made us feel very assured also with their selling skills, telling us we would have first job opportunity before boarding our flight to Canada. With this assurance we paid this large amount of money. We were also told if we didn't pay this money straight away we would miss out and there was nothing you would do for us until this money was paid. We had been in Canada for 2 months and had no job and had not even heard from anyone from your team in about a month. We stayed in hotels spending large amounts of money for the first month because by this stage we had not heard anything, and we were not sure where we would be located. It had then been another month and your team had still not contacted us about job opportunities! You had also stated in an email that we needed enough funds to last us up to 6 weeks, which we did. As it had been 2 months and we had no job and very little contact with this company, we had to head back home to Australia as we had no more money to stay there! To say I'm utterly disgusted is an understatement! The fact that a company like this would do this to young people, especially when they come to your company for reassurance and a less stressful experience. We had paid over $1800 each to your company and for what? All we had received was a bit of visa guidance, an airport transfer, a $60 best buy gift card and 5 nights accommodation in a hostel. That most defiantly isn't worth the large amount of money we both worked so long and hard for!! All we had experienced with the Global Work & Travel Co. is a much more stressful experince and a lot of disappointment to the point we had to return home. We are both completely saddened, disappointed and disgusted. I'm absolutely sickened by this company, and we would love to know what that money has gone towards.

Felt far too pressured to sign up then and there and was dissatisfied with the fact that I am not wanting to travel if I can't sign up then and there. I am left with a bitter taste in my mouth as this company has made me feel belittled. Will not be using.

After paying my deposit I found some awful review so requested a refund within 24 hour sof my purchase . Was flatly refused so had to create a dispute with my bank. Still waiting on my results however not hopeful. After paying deposit the details has not even been saved correctly. Was inquiring to teach in Vietnam in July 2018, however was recorded for Thailand in July 2017. To top that all off I paid a total deposit of $695, however receipt only recorded as $100. Not impressed at all and I am one never to complain about a good or service. Clearly this company only cared about the money, not giving a second thought that nearly $700 is a lot of money to most out there. Regardless of whether they are legally entitled to pay it or not, it is generally the moral thing to do as I had requested a refund so quickly. No morals whatsoever. 100% would not recommend.

Absolute rip off nobody should buy into these reviews there all probably fake because you don't get anything in return for the money that you pay.

very unorganised travel company and wouldn't book another trip with these guys. I was planning my first trip as a volunteer and had to cancel my trip due to it being a month away and not receiving any information . I asked for a refunded and didn't even receive 50% of it back.

global work is a rip off! I paid more than 1000$ than the other volunteers from another company. Also, it took a really long time for a staff member to even answer my questions. The other volunteers who were also with global work had even to do the coordinator's job for her because she was too iresponsible. Before booking with them, I strongly recommend to look for reviews from another source than global work... they are all bad, and some even have horror stories

Convince you into parting with money quickly so you can get into the visa pool, but when you get the chance to review what other people say about Global and you need to cancel they wont refund claiming its a holiday and they are not bound with the cancellation of contract regulations, thus no cooling off period and no right to refund. Then they wont release the recorded conversations so you can challenge what they say. Very shady. And now I will have to seek recompense through the court to get a refund.

I'm a 21 year old Female from the United Kingdom! I went through Global Work and Travel. I arrived in Australia for the first time in October however I was not picked up by the Global Work and Travel Co. (The airport transfer was not there). So I had to get a taxi to Surfers Paradise. When I got into Surfers Paradise, my "job opportunity" was an hour and a half away, starting at 5 in the morning. When explained this was not possible to get to they did nothing else for me! Do not go with these, travel on your own!

We would give Global a negative rating if it was an option. Terrible, useless program! They lure young people to foreign countries and once they get there, Global is useless and does not help them at all.

Biggest scam I've ever invested money into. Completely ridiculous charging over a thousand pounds yet all they do is put you in contact with a company that hires interns. They are 'apparently ' meant to help you find accommodation and sort visas yet I got neither of this help. Had to land in Australia by myself, find travel to and from airport myself, sort accommodation and visa myself and had no support what so ever by them throughout my stay, absolutely ridiculous do not go near them!!!

The guy that I spoke to on the phone was completely rude and aggressive (I can't remember his name); I felt bullied into throwing away a lot of money that I wasn't ready to spend. When I asked him about the deposit, he said he couldn't talk to me about that information because I 'wasn't taking it seriously.' When he discovered that I wasn't 100% sure of the trip I wanted to take and that I was going to do some more research over the next couple of days (the reason I called was to gain more information on the trip I wanted to take), he called me out for 'running away' when I had a perfectly good travel agent on the phone , snapped 'bye' at me in a tone that read 'thanks for wasting my time' and hung up. I'm guessing your employees only get paid if they make a sale? I've worked in tons of customer service jobs and I would never dream of speaking to, or degrading any of my customers like that. I suffer from anxiety so I was actually shaking by the end of the call, and had to block your number because I don't want to be called again. After finishing this conversation that made me feel like a complete idiot, I researched your company online and have heard similar opinions from other customers that feel like they have been scammed into throwing away their money and not getting what they were promised in return. The whole experience felt like a hard sell and I was completely intimidated, even though I was the one who originally initiated the call, because your website portrays a friendly tone and I naively thought that would translate over the phone. I have passed on my experience both online, and to the people I know in person, because I know you would never put a review less than 5 stars on your site, but mostly because I don't want other vulnerable young people to go through the same thing that I did. I really hope that you are able to do something about about the people working within your company that should 100% not be in a customer service position. Perhaps your other employees are friendlier, but I feel sorry for the hundreds of customers that will have to speak to the man I spoke to today.

I initially gave my number on the Global Work & Travel Company website in order to find out more information as there was very little freely available on the website. Following this i received a phone call from what i can only describe as a load and presumptuous man who proceeded to use high pressure sales tactics and bullying in order to push me into parting with nearly £1500 on the phone, that day. After explaining that i wished to discuss with my family before making such a commitment i was mocked for "needing my parents permission to do what i want to do". and told that "i don't expect to hear back from you" when i explained that i would call back. Following this phone call i researched the company and found that many other aspiring travelers who had trusted the company had lost all the money they had given, and either gained nothing in return or were left abandoned overseas without work or accommodation. I strongly recommend anyone looking to travel should avoid doing so with this company.
