“I wanted to love this! Some parts were good, others disappointing. The hair clips in the kit were really poor quality - they couldn't hold my (short) hair - the springs just weren't strong. The colour itself was good - no strong smell and good coverage of greys. The shampoo was very 'sudsy' makes me think there were lots of sulfates, and way too highly perfumed - I got a headache from the smell that lingered in my hair. A 'touch up' kit would be great, as I don't always want to do a full colour”

“I received my trial when I received it I was not Sure about it .there was a lot of things to do about covering grey hair ,so I emailed and canceled my next order .today I decided to use the colour without worrying about the extra things you need to do for my grey .i am happy to say I love it my colour is lovely so I will be emailing back to go back into ordering it every month thank you I especially love the shampoo and conditioner x”

Hi Caitlin, The Shade can lighten or darken 2 levels from your natural hair colour, but cannot lighten over previously coloured hair. I hope this helps! The Shade team

“The Shade is a wonderful concept and I love the way my hair feels and looks after I have colored it. You get everything you need in the delivery, however a suggestion would be to make available an order for roots only. I feel it is a massive waste when I actually need to do my roots only.”

You ordered your parcel on July 22nd and we dispatched it the same day. “Slightly disappointed as the grey coverage isn’t long lasting for me, even with the extra developer for pre-softening. I’m currently 3 weeks in and I can see most of my greys have returned. Colour started coming off gradually pretty much since the first wash. My colour was Dark Golden Brown, and like most other reviews, I found it to be darker than I expected. Under sunlight though it’s nice. The good thing is because it’s a subscription, it forces me to colour regularly to cover my greys. It also didn’t cause any irritation on my very sensitive scalp.”

“I was expecting a better outcome to be honest. I used the softener before the colouring process and the outcome was still not very good. The greys are still evident and the color didn’t take to them enough like the advertisements. The shampoo and conditioner smelled lovely. The packaging of products wonderful. I was very hopeful of a better outcome.”
