“I absolutely love the results :) my hair feels so soft and silky afterwards and the colour is a beautiful natural brown. The kit gives you so many tools to use for future dying and the quality of everything was great. I have very long hair so there was more than enough product to colour everything. In these lockdown times, it was great to have everything delivered to my door in an all-in-one easy kit. I’m thinking I may never need to go to a salon for colouring anymore haha. “I'm expecting my second delivery this week. I've tried a colour kit (intense light ash brown) and the scalp oil, have to say both exceeded expectations! My hair feels great and has more volume, the colour covers evenly and is has a natural look. I love the concept. I like to "experiment" with hair colour and I’ve had some accidents with developer and bleach 😬 With The Shade I can colour using professional colour whenever I want, blend colours, change often and will always have the right developer and ratio... Perfect!”

“The hair colour is really good as it has reduced hair loss, but the permanent colour doesn’t last for over 2-3 weeks. Also, the price has increased significantly since I first subscribed.”

Hi Vidya, Thanks for your review. If the permanent colour doesn't last 2-3 weeks, it indicates that you have an issue with porosity. The cuticles on the hair shaft are not closing sufficiently, which is causing colour fade. “I have had some health issues lately and have been unable to attend my hairdresser appointments. “The colourist was amazing, very knowledgeable & quick to reply, website easy to use & setting up frequency for delivery is a great feature. Arrived quickly, the colour itself and finish was really lovely, covered my greys and the exact colour I was wanting. I followed the tutorial & instructions to a T, roots first left longer before applying the rest to my hair. I’m only 2 weeks however and already seeing regrowth. It’s a shame because I’m also certain when I was getting my hair coloured at a salon my regrowth didn’t start showing till at least week 4. I use Kerastase colouring specific shampoo & conditioner so it can’t be using crappy after care products. I’ve decided to try 1 more time but if that proves to be a short regrowth time also, I may as well go back to box dye.”

I can see our colourist recommended Sorrento 9.1 Light Ash Blonde, while you purchased and used Amalfi 9 Light Blonde. The ash in Light Ash Blonde neutralises warmth, which is why our colourist recommended Sorrento 9.1 I would suggest you try Sorrento 9.1 I hope this helps! Craig Ford CEO - The Shade

“Great, natural looking hair colour. It’s gentle on my hair. The shampoo & conditioner are perhaps the best I’ve ever experienced. My hair felt hydrated after the colouring process. The only downside is that the actual shade is darker than the AI photo. I only used the 20 vol developer as blonde dyes usually take to my hair quite well. I will try the 27 vol developer next time to see if it will lighten the colour a shade or two.”

“Perfect colour every time. I’ve been using the shade for about a year now and I’m really happy with the results. I feel like it is gentle on my hair and always leaves it shiny and well manageable. I love that it comes in a little packet and that I can customise when I want my next delivery. I like that. It doesn’t smell bad like some hair products and as I use the semi permanent it says it’s nicely there’s no harsh lines across my hair so I can just top up my roots as I need to. Since using the shade, I haven’t gone back to the hairdresser or the dreaded box dye.”
