“I absolutely love the results :) my hair feels so soft and silky afterwards and the colour is a beautiful natural brown. The kit gives you so many tools to use for future dying and the quality of everything was great. I have very long hair so there was more than enough product to colour everything. In these lockdown times, it was great to have everything delivered to my door in an all-in-one easy kit. I’m thinking I may never need to go to a salon for colouring anymore haha. “I used 8.2 Beige blonde - on a base of 7 with about 30% grey & blonde highlights on ends. I throw a lot of warmth so I wasnt expecting cool tones but I was hoping for it. I ended up with a light copper / caramel shade that I'm not hating but also not overly loving.”

“I am 8 months postpartum so I don’t have the time to get to a salon often. I have been looking at The Shade for quite some time and decided to bite the bullet and give them a try. I’m so glad I did, I purchased the dark ash bond as I was hoping to blend my roots better than my current blonde and go for a more natural look. The whole process was so easy and user friendly. I absolutely love the result and all of my friends have complimented my hair and were shocked when I said I did it at home. I purchased an demi permanent just incase I didn’t like the colour as it washes out in approx 10 washes but I will definitely be buying it again but this time I will be buying the permanent colour. I genuinely feel like I have salon quality colour at home at a fraction of the price. If you’re on the fence about buying, take the plunge and give it a go. I’m very happy with how my hair turned out and have told all of my friends about it.”

“I’ve been alternating between the moisture shampoo and conditioner, and the peppermint shampoo and conditioner. These are beautiful products that have made a massive improvement in the health of my hair. Leaving it soft nourished and bouncy. I have fine postpartum colour damage hair. I’ve also been using the oil on the ends and once a week, the repair mask. Highly recommend if you want to take your hair health to the next level”

“You can be confident when ordering through The Shade. I used the personal consultant, and I bought exactly what was recommended. After using I know I need not mix up the full colour for roots only. The toner applied to dry hair is different, hairdresser does all in one appointment. But not a big inconvenience. Overall a great result.. before and after pics attached.”

“Awesome product! I was a bit skeptical but wanted to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. The results were great and I saved so much money and time doing it at home. I do love a salon visit however with a tight budget at the moment this is great for toning my highlights between visits and I will definitely be purchasing again. As an added bonus, my hair was soft and shiny after using it too! Top product and I highly recommend!”

The most common reason is that you have attempted to colour your hair with a colour too light, or there are darker pigments in your hair which weren't removed prior to lightening. It's important to use a cool-based colour if you're lightening as the cool tones neutralise warmth. I can see you used a neutral colour. “I was disappointed with The Shade, I’ve used many other box dyes that are much better. My aim was for medium brown, similar to my hair already, after asking for advice with the colour consultant I ordered Trento, medium brown. My hair turned out black, literally black not brown. The colour was so dark, it was dull and muddy with no shine at all. It didn’t cover my greys which were at my roots only. I have gone back to my favorite hair colour Clairol now and it’s wonderful, shiny, dimensional brown glossy hair, greys 100 % covered. Everything is included in the box unlike The Shade. It was a waste of money and time.”

“I used the Vitamin C powder to remove purple shampoo that turned my hair lavender. I was pleasantly surprised by how much colour it removed. However I needed two packets. I then repeated the process and came out with a nice colour but you do need to follow up with a toner. My hair turned pink where it grows naturally white after 2 days. When I put the ash blonde toner on it removed the pink and to my surprise and delight it softened the demarcation line between my colour and regrowth. Very happy and the products were very low odour which is incredible. I’m a convert😆”

“Not great, not terrible. I always use 20 volume with colour to cover my grays without issue, but The Shade hasn’t completely covered them (I’m 32, they’re not tough grays yet). The colour took to most of my hair, but hasn’t lasted as well as I’d hoped. Within 4 washes, I feel as though my hair needs a toner and that the colour had washed out of my ends. Also, since colouring, it’s been feeling pretty dry and flat. I use high quality colour and hydrating shampoo and conditioner, so that’s not the reason. Might use again if I’m desperate, but probably not.”
