Hi Danielle, Lack of grey coverage usually occurs with porous hair, when the hair cuticles don't open to allow the colour to penetrate. If you wanted to boost grey coverage, then I would suggest that you add some heat to your roots for 2-5 minutes with your hairdryer while the colour is processing, which will help soften and lift the cuticle on your greys, which helps the colour enter to be deposited within the hair too. Pop a shower cap on your head after you have added some heat during the colouring process too, as this will help retain heat and soften and lift the cuticles of the hair which will then allow the colour pigments to enter to be permanently deposited within the hair. The above approach has been effective on even the most stubborn greys, and I am confident that it will work for you as well. “I have found my product. I have been colouring my hair for many years. As my daughter is a hairdresser and keeps me looking modern with her skills. I recently tried “the shade” products and my goodness. Such a beautiful product. My hair is glossy. Greys are perfectly covered. So after trialling my first purchase. “Ive been getting hair dye from the shade for about a year. Love how simple the subscription is to set up (or pause), and the fact the products don’t have nasty ingredients in compared to other hair dye brands. The start up kit is great. Love the dye mixer & brush. The apron was a good idea but the part that has the velcro is uncomfortable to put on and leaves red marks on my chest as it is very scratchy. The hair colour i get is meant to be a cool darkest brown, but in the sunlight or warm indoor lighting my hair has a reddish tinge. Not what i want. So I’m unsure how “cool” this darkest brown colour actually is. But in normal indoor light (LED lighting) it looks how it should.”

“Took the recommendation of the colourist and it did not work. I still have a dark band of colour through the second third of my hair which I was trying to eliminate, as well as hot roots. The gloves provided were very hard to work with.”

“I loved the easiness of using this product. I love the colour but the and result was not what I expected. The roots went orange so I now have to redo them with more product but I found the smell very nice. I however didn’t receive any of the oil used to protect the ends so maybe the ends may not have frizzed as much not sure.”

“At 51, I obviously have a little sprinkle of glitter coming through. I was sick and tired of paying a small fortune to cover them. I discovered The Shade after it popped up on my Facebook feed. “I recently used The Trento-ash brown hair colour and was happy with the result-it provided great coverage and left my hair feeling soft and healthy. However, I was expecting a more ash tone. After a few washes, I noticed that the copper tones became more visible rather than the ash colour I was hoping for. Overall, it's a high-quality product, but I would love if the ash tones lasted longer.”

“I purchased this product following recommendations from a friend. I did the quiz and chose my shade. The result ended up being darker than I expected, but the overall result was good. The kit I received was missing the stain remover satchet though, which was disappointing. I suggest you state on the advertisement that you need to psosess a dye brush as this is not included in the kit.”
