“I’ve been blonding my hair at home for years. While I’ve always liked it, what has been a problem is consistently being able to buy my preferred colour. As a result I’ve often had to buy a different colour each time I go shopping, which is really frustrating. I read about ‘The Shade’ in a Reddit comment and thought I’d give it a go. The blonde shade I chose is absolutely beautiful, and it’s really nice knowing that I’ll be getting the same colour every 5 weeks. I’m really glad I signed up, and look forward to having one less thing to worry about.”

“Best dye I have tried so far. I got the shade to give me a colour review with before photos & a history of what I had done with my hair. I was extremely impressed with the advice received after letting the shade know what I wanted to achieve. They suggested a step by step process, going for a base colour to start with due to my hair having previous highlights. I am looking forward to further advice when I contact the shade again as to the next steps I want to achieve.”

“Overall dissapointed - in both service and products. I've initially contacted a consultant with my concerns and wishes, along with photos of my current hair situation, as well as hair goal inspiration. I received a prompt response with recommended products, which I went ahead to purchase & use. I did not get the result I was hoping for, not even by far. Vit C lifted very little of the existing pigment, which in turn lead to the recommended colour being way to light to make any difference. It was like I haven't applied any colour whatsoever. I understand that some results we aim for, can be difficult to achieve, but I would have preferred being told that I won't be able to get to where I wanted so easily, rather than being sold products that simply won't help achieve our goals. To add to the poor service. I subsequently reached out to the consultant with my concerns and results (including new photos as proof), but never heard back, not even an acknowledgement. The only positive aspect of my experience with The Shade was the delivery service and product packaging.”

Hi Christina, I'm sorry you weren't happy with your result. As you mentioned, you did see a lighter colour result in your roots, which indicates that the Colour Pigment Remover product was effective in lifting colour. There is more colour build-up in your lengths, and as a result the CPR process often needs to be repeated to lighten the lengths in particular. We did advise you that you might need to repeat the process. Your colour goal was a colour close to your natural colour, maybe a little lighter. We recommended a colour one level lighter than your natural colour. You mentioned that it was like I haven't applied any colour whatsoever. If your goal was to be close to your natural colour, this seems to have been achieved. Wishing you well! Marco The Shade

“Having previously used another more natural tint, it did not hold on my grey regrowth. So I am trialing The Shade & so far it is holding colour on my greys. I chose Ferrara 10.1 which tinted a nice ash, as I’m now mid 50’s I wanted to try the Catania 902 as a toner a week after applying Ferrara & I’m impressed with the result. Having tried Catania which is a little warmer without the ash, I will swap to this shade for my permanent colour…Thank you The Shade I feel great moving into my late 50’s with the right shade of colour!!💫👱🏻‍♀️”

“I LOVE LOVE LOVE this product. I initially reached out to the colourist before ordering and she suggested a duo colour 7.2 and 8.2 - it is just fabulous. The team at The Shade are very prompt in helping and getting back to any queries. I also love that there is so much less damage to my hair than grabbing something off the supermarket shelf. I have used this colour twice and I don't think there is as much fade as the other supermarket colour I had been using. I have also started using one of their serums and the volume conditioner which I also really like. This is a great company and I highly recommend”

“Absolutely Happy! I used the Shade for the first time just one day before my wedding day, and wooooow — the results were incredible! My hair turned out even better than I expected. “Loving The Shade, have used it a couple of times now and referred family and friends who love it too. The home salon kit is great with the mixing bowl and four clips however the cape could be longer especially if your hair is longer than a bob or shoulder length. I have sensitive skin and react to lots of things but haven’t had any issues with The Shade at all. Ash Brown is my go to colour, not too dark or light and no brassy tones! 😊”

Hi Melanie, We have an Online Colour Consultation and a team of colourists who can give you personalised colourist advise. I can see that you didn't use either of these services. Dark Ash Blonde is a cool-based colour, it has zero warm tones. Any warmth you are seeing is natural warmth which is in excess to the warmth that the cool tones can balance. There are a number of reasons why you would have received a warm result including having existing colour pigments in your hair and not removing the colour pigments prior to lightening, and/or attempting to lighten by too many levels. “I used the pigment colour remover on some build-up from previous semi-permanent dye. It did a good job of bringing out the old pigment, but didn't quite get all of it. Unfortunately the toner I bought for afterwards was too light for my hair and didn't really work. Will be trying again with the next colour level down!”

“Second time I've purchade hair colour - went for a slightly different shade. Once again, was excellent, easy to use, smells nice, great colour and coverage. I'd always used L'Oreal Castings as my go to as it was not permament and suited me, but after trying The Shade I'll be using their colours now for sure. I also purchased a shampoo and conditioner, which are both excellent.”

“Honestly, I was super skeptical after coming across The Shade on social media. I've never been able to find a beautiful copper that wasn't straight orange. Well, the copper blonde has blown me away and I am now a loyal customer. 100 out of ten recommend. Amazing quality and vibrant colour!”
