“I have been dying my hair at home for years and The Shade has to be the best product I have ever used. Not only is it easy to use, but it is extremely gentle on my hair and the colour lasts much longer than other products I have used. Love love love The Shade!”

“So good, I’ve never coloured my hair at home but due to lock down I had no choice, it worked so much better than I thought. It was easy as well. Definitely recommend.”

“Unfortunately can’t give proper review as it turns out I am allergic to the product. Rash developed after I did a patch test as recommended. So I guess there is some kind of chemical still in the product. Not chemical free.”

Hi Anne, Sorry that you had an allergic reaction. We are a low chemical formulation, not chemical free. We are free of the main irritants: Ammonia, PPD, Parabens, Phthalates often used in hair colour. Glad that you performed an allergy alert test. Wishing you all the best! The Shade team

“The colour was much darker than I expected despite putting in what I had used previously. It was easy to mix. The application was fine. It Covered most of the greys but not all. The shampoo and conditioner are hard to open once you are in the shower. I didn't see any difference from using a box from the supermarket. I wouldn't support a subscription but maybe a buy when you want it as I wouldn't normally colour my hair every 5 weeks.”

“I loved that my 1st kit came with everything we needed including gloves, something to protect my clothes, a mixing bowel, brush, hair clips and even a little mat to sit the the bowl on! I cant wait to try a different colour”

“I love it as I was previously not able to use hair dye and had resorted to henna. This works so much better and covers my greys well. On me, a light brown is dark brown however. Oh well. I'm sticking with it and accepting dark brown, knowing I can use a bleach kit if and when I choose to do so. On a whole, I LOVE it!!! :)”

“Good quality product. Coloring is easy to use and I had no skin irritations. Lovely shampoo and conditions too. Nice packaging and color kit was very useful. Only one small gripe - would prefer a bottle over the sachets. Would love it there was purple shampoo and conditioner for sale. Fantastic product - well done.”
