“I'm really disappointed. I got the colour consultation and have photos and ordered the colour recommended. I followed instructions exactly. I've done home colours before (years ago I did my own hair) so I'm not inexperienced. I ordered 7.1, so it should have been an ash blonde colour. Instead it's a ginger colour and not a nice one either. How 7.1 created red-gold tones I will never know. But I don't recommend it and wish I'd just lived with my regrowth until I could see my hairdresser again.”

Hi Deena, I'm sorry you didn't get the result you were looking for. It seems that might have tried to lighten your colour on top of previously coloured hair. This would throw up some warm tones. There would not be any warm tones with Bellaria 7.1 Dark Ash Blonde on uncoloured hair within 2 shades, as ash neutralises warm tones. “I love the colour! It covered the greys really well, although I should have left mine on for longer than 45 mins where the greys are particularly stubborn! The best part is my hair feels soft and not damaged. There was no strong smell and there was no tingling, or “toxic” feeling! My only criticism is the clips And gloves are terrible! But for the price, that’s fair enough.”

“I'm so incredibly happy I gave this a try! I dyed my hair from bright red to blonde over the course of a week whilst at home and ordered the golden bonde colour to help eliminate and blend in the last of the orange hues left behind - and I cannot be happier with the results. As I have very long, thick hair I ordered the extra pack and it was perfect :) Left my hair feeling great afterwards as well!”

“Great application kit, colour not true 4.1 ash dark brown had a lot red tone still and did not cover greys even after following a further 10min to develop. Colour left hair dry and I was pleased the kit had a moisturising conditioner. Overall it is a good DYI home product.”

Hi Sandra, Thanks for your feedback. Our Toscano 4.1 Dark Ash Brown neutralises warm tones; I suspect there is an underlying reason why there is still red tones in your hair. We recommend a process called pre-softening ($2.95) for stubborn greys. “I actually did not use the product, as I could not get support from a colourist after many attempts on the web site, email and phoning. I tried to explain that I have greyish white regrowth and have been having my hair colored professionally for years previously natural colour blonde and whether or not to use the bleach precolour wash to soften my very soft fine regrowth touchup.”

“Sorry but I can’t leave a positive review for this product as I’m not happy with the end result - one week after application the colour has washed out in places ... I was hoping for atleast 3-4 weeks before it started to show regrowth - the fade is far too quick.”

Hi Stacey! Sorry to hear about your colour fade. It sounds as though you may have porous hair, which can lead to colour leakage and fade. “I am so so glad I found The Shade! I really don't like going to the hairdressers to dye my hair, I find it so pricey and it's quite inconvenient for me to spend that time in the chair. However, I also don't like using box dye because it can be damaging to the hair, smells bad, and the colours on the package are often not reflective of how your hair is gonna turn out! The problem is I'd go to hair stores to try and buy salon quality colour but the staff always treated me like I didn't belong because I didn't know what I was doing, I didn't know what to buy and the whole process was unpleasant. Enter, The Shade. It was so easy to select my colour (with pics of people actually WEARING it!) plus the entire kit included EVERYTHING I needed: cape, bowl, brush, clips, mat. It was incredible. I dyed my hair, it came out SO SHINY, GORGEOUS, AND SOFT! My hair has never looked better. I am so so glad I found The Shade. Am recommending it to everyone!”

“I tried The Shade after seeing an add pop up in my news feed. Conveniently it was just days after I had to cancel my hairdresser appointment. I've tried a lot of "box" colours and they're always dull. The Shade colour is amazing with a lovely shine and the best part is there is no strong chemical smell. My hair is healthy and I'll definitely be using this product again. I chose Lucca Chocolate Blonde and I love the subtle red highlights through the dark blonde. The kit is complete with everything! Highly recommend.”
