“Well tried out my first Shade Hair Colour. Number 5. It was easy to apply even though I am not the best at sectioning my hair (In fact I am hopeless at it but may get better the more I do it) I had previous coloured hair and even though I probably didn’t cover all the grey regrowth properly I left the regrowth for 10 mins then massaged the rest of the product through my hair and the result was wonderful. Great colour with surprising mix of colour in the sunlight and super soft super smooth hair. Love this product already. Have washed with my normal colour shampoo and conditioner since doing it and still soft and shiny. So impressed would recommend wholeheartedly. Thanks”

“FIRST TIME USER I love love love my results, super easy to mix, easy to apply, no complications at all, lots of fun and a money saver. Due to lockdown around AU, courier was a bit delayed, but now I am loving my fresh new hair and wish I done a before and after pic. The results are absolutely amazing and it turnt out to be better than I expected. “I liked very much for different reasons: 1. Presentation. The box had a little welcome note with my name on it. It was hand written. Nice detail. 2. Content. Very profesional and clear labelling for further instructions 3. Results. I did like how my hair ended. Nice and bright colour and almost any greys. Besides it has a nice smell. Happy with this option!”

“The colour was nice, even and there wasn't a strong smell either. I have a very sensitive scalp and didn't have a reaction or sensitivity. The colour (Golden Copper Brown) was a little too copper for me, but my hair was mostly grey so probably why it turned out more vibrant but covered all the grey well. Nice colour though anyway and definitely a salon colour and quality.”

“I was so pleased the result of my hair colour Dark Ash Blonde, it covered my greys too. I love the kit with the bag so handy, and no ammonia smell! The shampoo and conditioner makes my hair so soft. So glad I found Shade and definitely will recommend.”

“Sorry it made my hair goa brassy copper look I am not a fan sorry I didn't understand why I had 2 lots of shade 1 with the bleached made my hair back to my colour sort of and the other made it go grey and purple so that's when I put the bleach 1 in it sort of back to my colour except the head that went orange as you can see please help me”

I see that you selected a very light colour without taking our online colour consultation, or contacting one of our colourists who are available 7 days a week. “Tried to upload a before but could only upload one photo. I have natural dark blonde/light brown hair and am growing out blonde highlights so asked the colour consultant for advice on hair colour, specifically stating that I didn't want red tones because I didn't want my hair to go red. I was recommended a "neutral blonde". The products were great quality, postage was prompt, love the cape. Unfortunately... My roots went bright red and the colorist said that the colour I used was too light because she couldn't see my hair colour properly in the multiple photos I sent her for reference.... Not at all impressed, this has ruined my hair and looks ridiculous so now I'll need to spend more money to get it fixed, wasn't even offered another colour for free to try and fix the red tones Don't risk this happening to you, the colour I bought was very close to my natural hair colour, so it's not like I was after a huge change.”

Dear Charlotte, I'm sorry the colour didn't come out as expected. Unfortunately the photos we received were taken indoors. It is difficult to determine the exact colour of hair with photos if they are not taken outside in natural light. Our colour and developer can lift 2 levels from your natural hair colour, and brassiness results when you try to lighten by more than 2 levels. “I used “The Shade” colour darkest brown. It was exactly the shade I wanted. I only use cold colours in my hair as it throws a lot of reds. Very happy with coverage. I have above shoulder length and had left over product. The conditioner left my hair so silky and shiny. I will always recommend this product.”

“Given it was a blond colour it was darker than I expected. However I do love the colour. I found it also faded quickly. I did contact shade and was told the right thing to do. Which I did do. Will try again a little earlier than I normally would and see how it goes.”

“I loved the whole experience! Website is beautiful and was easy to find what I wanted; delivered quickly and elegant, minimal packaging. Colour is beautiful and really nourished my hair as well! Love love love that the first pack comes with the brush and mixing pot etc for reuse next time. Only tiny suggestion for improvement would be that the gloves supplied could be durable reusable ones, added to the starter kit, rather than the flimsy throwaways that are in with the colour. Perhaps have as an optional add on? At least reducing the single use plastic :-) Otherwise everything is top notch! Really felt like I treated myself to some pampering :-)”

“The colour is very nice, but I wouldn't call this a very user friendly kit. First, the clips don't have any strength and just fall out of my hair. The developer cream is in a metal tube, and very hard to squeeze the contents out of. It pierced my gloves so, I ended up with a stained finger at the end. The shampoo and conditioner sachets are also very hard to open in the shower. It took ages to get them opened properly. The conditioner didn't seem to do much for my hair. It still felt dry and very frizzy once it dried. It's a great idea, but not for me.”
