“I havn't been to a hairdresser since the 2nd Feb 2020. I thought I would try and embrace my sparkles (greys) at 51 but no I cant just yet. I purchased the shade trial and have only just coloured my hair and I am very happy. The smell was non existent which is a nice change and my greys are covered and my hair feels amazing. I love the fact that im not putting harsh chemicals on my hair as I have been colouring for the last 25 years.”

“I followed the instructions for covering stubborn grey hair and it hasn’t covered the greys. It bleached them white. I used 8.2. I don’t think it ha fully coloured the regrowth either.”

Hi Narelle, Sorry you had trouble colouring your greys. You mentioned to one of our colourists that you have stubborn greys, and it seems this certainly is the case. “Worst customer service! I was really looking forward to trying this product however the wrong thing was sent to me in the mail which meant I couldn't try. I spoke to someone in customer service to try and rectify the order. He was useless and so unhelpful. Based on this I would not recommend this service.to anyone.”

Hi Renee, We shipped you exactly what you ordered. i'm sorry that you made an error when ordering, but it's hardly the fault of The Shade if we sent you what you ordered. We sent you an email to assist you, but never heard back from you. The Shade team

“Good coverage for greys, but I ordered a 6 which is the color level I would usually have and it was much darker than a level 6 would normally be on my hair. I also noticed quite a bit of hair fall when I was rinsing the dye out (pre-test was fine), and I also found that the shampoo and conditioner left my hair feeling quite matted. The color has lasted well (4 weeks). Overall reasonably good color but I would go a level lighter if I was to order again.”

“Very impressed by the service and also the quality of the colour product. My new hairdresser had left me with a patchwork of almost blonde hair, when I am normally mid-brown. Now that I am self-isolating, I was desperate to do something about this, and your product has enabled me to get back to looking 'normal'. I am so thankful! “Unfortunately the colour was not great for me and I ended up being quite upset at the result (still am even after paying to have it fixed as much as possible). I sent a photo through of my current colour and specifically said I did not want to be too much lighter or have any warmth at all in the colour. The colour was way too light for me and ended up being very ginger :-( I am sure if I went darker I would have been much happier but in this case I will spend quite some time growing out the result.”

“I selected Sorrento colour, as I wanted a cool ash blonde shade. My hair was previously coloured with fine blonde foils. As you can see from the attached photo, my hair came out, including the new hair growth, a toffee colour. It doesn’t look anything like the images on your site. Whilst it isn’t bad, it isn’t what I wanted. I have considered purchasing Veneto next time, however I am unsure it will be a cool ash blonde colour due to my previous experience. I did speak to a colourist, who was lovely however she didn’t explain why my natural blonde uncoloured hair would be darker and have a warm appearance with Sorrento. I am thinking about canceling my subscription and waiting until my colour grows out and/or going to a salon. Your product was easy to apply and left my hair texture soft and shiny so if the colour had come out like the photos displayed on your website I would have been happy to continue to use The Shade products. Thank you Joanne”

“The equipment provided is good quality, instructions easy to follow and left my hair feeling so soft, shiny and smelling gorgeous! I didn't quite get the results I wanted colour wise but my hair is obviously darker that I realise and will need bleaching to achieve my desired ash blonde shade. I emailed the colourists for support and they were very helpful and made suggestions as to how to get to the colour I want. My hair is in great condition and I would not hesitate to use the shade again! Love it!”
