“Went to the Preston branch today to buy a patio table and chairs. The young man on the till was extremely friendly and professional. The young man who brought out the package helped us to the car with it but the package wouldn't fit not our boot. He and another gentleman removed the table and chairs from the packaging and loaded into the car. Wonderful service and great value for money from TJ Hughes!”
“Still waiting for my order from the 1st April via Click and Collect. Today is 19th April. Phoned customer Services on 13th April to be told that they would have to ring the store and would ring me back. No call back received.
Been on the phone again, on hold for 25 minutes, "First in the Queue", still waiting!

“delivery very quick.The power washer I ordered has parts missing only opened box about 3 weeks after delivery so my fault for not checking.Washers missing from garden furniture my fault again didn't check after delivery”

The old shop was a joy to shop in vibrant and lots of genuine bargains..It helped that there was somewhere to have refreshments whereas this one doesn't have anywhere.The clothes department is depressing I don't know what age group it is supposed to cater for I'm a senior citizen and it's too old fashioned for me.The doors have been broken. for ages so that doesn't look good..Also the delivery charges are ridiculously high.Please get your act together and give Sheffield the shop it deserves.”
“Happy with speed of delivery of items bought online. Great price. Products packed in padded envelopes so boxes were damaged. This was OK on this occasion as items for me but would have been unacceptable had they been for a gift.”
“Went to the st.helens branch on Saturday with my daughter she was buying me some perfume for Mother's Day. We asked to try a sample of perfume and was told we have not got a sampler to try but I have got it on myself and let us smell it on her. Does TJHughes or the sales person not realise perfume smells different on individuals and when your spending a lot of money on perfume you do need to be able to try. I suggest TJHughes have samplers for their more expensive perfumes.”
“Your website is rubbish. I have tried at different times over two days to place an order with no success. I can only get to the checkout and then it reverts to custermer details.
I wanted this order for Saturday and now can't have it. I am very dissatisfied and will not be using this site again.”
“SIZING ON WHISPER BRIEFS ARE VERY WRONG I BROUGHT SIZE 14 DID NOT FIT I DID NOT TRY THEM ON BECAUSE I COULD SEE BY THE TOP THAT THEY DID NOT STRETCH SO I WENT AND BROUGHT 16'S AND THEY DID NOT FIT EITHER, I AM A 14 IN ALL OTHER SHOPS YOU HAVE A RETURNS POLICY AS THE BOX WAS DAMAGED, AS WERE ALL THE BOXES ON DISPLAY, YOU WOULD NOT CONSIDER REPLACING THEM ALSO YOUR SENIOR STAFF ARE RUDE.”
“Bought a Vax vacuum cleaner and on unpacking a small clip on part was broken.
I contacted customer services who offered to collect and replace the whole machine which was absolutely ridiculous for such a small item
I asked that they get a replacement part from Vax but they say they are unable to do this and I would have to do it myself by contacting Vax”
“This is not really a review just a complaint that I have purchased several boxes of your WHISPER ladies briefs and found that the top material breaks away from the elastic waistband. The first few boxes or four pack broke away but I just thought it was a bad batch and decided to give you another chance and bought two more boxes from Sheffield store only to find these are exactly the same. As these seem to be faulty or seconds zI am asking you to do something about these as they are NOT fit for purpose. I know you do not normally exchange underwear and I do not have the receipt because of this, but I feel that you should refund or exchange on this occasion. Please reply to this request.”
“I am an 80 year old and not getting about as mch these days so I rely on people like tjs to shop for me I have always been delighted with their professionalism and care when helping me their products are unsurpassable and ther staff very helpful I personally wouldn't go anywhere ales and believe me there is plenty of shops where you can buy online but they are not J

“For Christmas I bought my husband a pair of Jack & Jones leather boots from the Birkenhead store. The first thing that went wrong with them was that the tag at the back on the left boot came unstitched. I was going to take them back then but my husband said he wasn't bothered about it. He went out in them today and it was raining heavily. When he came back he found his feet were wet where the boots must have been letting in water. I decided to take the boots back as I think a pair of boots costing £49.99 should last longer than three months. The store manager refused a refund saying the boots weren't meant to be waterproof!! He said that unless it states that boots are waterproof you shouldn't wear them in the rain. He said the laces were worn where they had been pulled tight. To me that means the laces are made of inferior materials.
The boots have not been worn heavily, my husband has several pairs of boots so they weren't worn every day.
It's the worst customer service I've ever come across. I will never buy anything else there and judging by the reviews I'm not the only one. Expect more stores to close.”
“Ordered vacuum cleaner online , it arrived in a box in a sealed bag ,on opening the bag found the box to be in a bit of a state , it had been opened before tools and guide removed from plastic sleeves , and the cleaner hose missing , there was also dirty white towel, in the box ,tried to contact Hughes but the don't accept phone calls for web purchases , I have sent 3 emails with no reply”
