I placed an order online for 4 items that were in stock. I was given a despatch date of 17th Dec. from Liverpool to the Birkenhead store. I never heard again, so I went to the store, they said they didn't have the order. So this then meant I would have to return again, at a later date hopefully before Christmas as they were presents. Any on line discounts would now be lost in the cost of two journeys and the inconvenience. Next email I received I was offered a cancellation of my order and a £10.00 voucher for future online purchases. I refused as I did not have much faith to order online again. After Christmas I was told that 2 items (pjs) were now out of stock, so they refunded the money and the other 2 items had been taken off the shelves in Birkenhead and put to one side for me to collect. I returned to the store a week later - no items were ready, it was clear the managers were scrambling around trying to fulfil the order. They then found the original order package in their storeroom, surprise !! then came up with some story "the Postman had been trying to deliver this parcel to my home and it had been all over Birkenhead". I live in Great Sutton, Ellesmere Port. There was only an order number on the front and my name, no address, so I cannot believe this was ever sent for home delivery at all. They then hastily ripped open the parcel to retrieve the 2 items I had been refunded for, stating "you have been refunded for these, so we need them back, unless you want to pay for them now" I thought this rude and then the pj's were the wrong size anyway!! Incompetence from start to finish. I have shopped at TJs all my life over 40 years, I love the bargains and I was delighted to see you online, but this experience has been very disappointing.

Worst experience buying online ever!!! Item did not turn up 3 weeks after purchase and didn't even receive refund until nearly a further two weeks after due to an "error". Will never order anything from TJ Hughes again!!!!!!

Purchased a giant inflatable T-Rex jut before holidays. Still arrived very quickly and the deal was unbeatable. Very pleased with service and product.

Got sent a 10 rather than a 7 although in their defence return labels were included, luckily however I knew someone who room a10 couldn't b bothered with the hassle

Was happy with the delivery, it was very quick, had to return one item, not hapy that i had to pay for the return post.

On the 9th of December I ordered and payed online for an electric heater via click and collect , I received an email few days later informing me my purchase had been dispatched to store, looking good so far, a few days later I thought I go look for an update and tracking details , no emails, few days later still no email , decided get in touch with customer service , was informed that it would be chased up , emails back and forward with still no joy , was offered a refund and I said I've waited this long so it can't be much longer , received a final email on the 3rd of Jan saying sorry they have to refund me and I would just have to go into store and buy one as they can't reorder for me !! Firstly on previous emails I told them I wasn't long after an op and on two crutches hence reason for not going in to store and secondly when I went into home page to check stock , hey ho !! Out of stock , so what do we do ? Reorder online !! I don't think so , NEVER AGAIN ,ps,it's 6th Jan still no refund yet ,, Myra

First order made and I was sent the wrong item leaving me with the inconvenience of returning it and getting the item I did order from another retailer. Wont be ordering again!

Benross single size electric blanket bought before Christmas has been an excellent buy. It was the best priced single blanket on-line; where TJ Hughes' blanket won over the others was its size, which covered the single bed from shoulder to feet. All others I found were shorter and sometimes narrower as well. I recommend using the blanket at full heat for maximum effectiveness. A great value buy.

The item that I ordered took 6 days to arrive. It was sourced from a from a relatively near store for 'click and collect' but I was not updated of the reason for the delay. Only when I sent e-mails asking about my order's progress did receive an update, so I overall I was not very impressed. Your system needs looking at to keep customers informed and ultimately, satisfied.

Our system updates customers when the item is dispatched to store and when the item is ready for collection - we find that on occasions the email has gone to the customers junk folder.
