“The item that I ordered took 6 days to arrive. It was sourced from a from a relatively near store for 'click and collect' but I was not updated of the reason for the delay. Only when I sent e-mails asking about my order's progress did receive an update, so I overall I was not very impressed. Your system needs looking at to keep customers informed and ultimately, satisfied.”

Our system updates customers when the item is dispatched to store and when the item is ready for collection - we find that on occasions the email has gone to the customers junk folder. “Ordered a soup maker and was happy with it at first but the second time I used it, it wouldn't work and the bottom was burnt. Had to clean the burn off before using again. Still didn't work the third time had to blend it by hand!!!”

“Very impressed as I ordered perfume at a very good discounted price but instead of the goods being sent to me at my home address as requested they were sent to TJ Hughes Birkenhead branch which I was unable to collect from as I am not easily mobile also the contact number given me for the call centre to readdress this was not accessible and not in use and by the time I did manage to email the online shopping centre the parcel had been despatched to Birkenhead from where a very nice staff member phoned me to say it was there ready for collection this being Friday Xmas week.I explained the error in addressing parcel there and she put it in the post that day and sent it to my home address.All staff I did speak to were helpful and friendly.I will shop with TJs again.”

“We made the order on line 17/12 for delivery to Sheffield depot, however the email I gave went to my work email and wouldn't receive it until Tuesday, I called TJ Hughes 19/12 explaining the situation, and what Identification I'd need. I was told to just bring a driving license, passport etc. I drove from Chesterfield to Sheffield paid parking to discover my parcel hadn't arrived and that I needed the web number. I wasn't told this on the phone or I would have got the email from my place of work. When I did get the email it informed me my purchase was coming from Liverpool and that I would receive another email once my order was ready in store. I called everyday which cost me extra on my network mobile charges (£20.00 in total) to finally get a call back from depot in Sheffield to say it arrived on 23rd Dec which only gave me xmas eve to fetch it as Friday night opening late wasn't a definite. I was told on the phone that the night before wasn't necessary so they may not stay open late. I was very relieved to have got my purchase before xmas day as it was my little boys main present. I was happy with my purchase, price paid but communication could have been better. I believe you have only recently started doing to click and collect in Sheffield so teething problems were likely. Could have been a better experience but my little boy was happy.”

“AWFUL - NEVER ORDER AGAIN - ITEMS OUT OF STOCK EVEN THOUGH PAYMENT TAKEN FROM MY ACCOUNT ! SOME OF THE GOODS ARRIVED AFTER NUMEROUS EMAILS ! ORDERED T SHIRT TURNED UP ON A HANGER BUT CRUMPLED UP IN THE BOTTOM OF THE PARCEL, DIRTY MARKS ALL OVER IT !”
