I wish that I had of found this before I spent so long on the phone with this place. We booked the trip, paid for everything, made all the arrangements, and were just about to walk out the door with our luggage, when we get an email telling us to give THEM a call. They decided that what we had paid them wasn't enough and that the flights had gone up by 10%. When I insisted that they pointed it out to me on their website, it took them 5 min to find it in the in terms and conditions, the document is so very long that would take someone all day to read. I still don't understand how I can have an additional fee imposed on me because they have made a mistake. One would think that there is a law about that somewhere.

The only reason this is getting even one star is because I technically have to give it some form of a rating to be posted. Never, ever again would I book a hotel through Travel Republic. My friend and I have been traveling throughout Europe and the UK for the past 2 weeks, London being at the end of our holiday. We spent quite a bit of time searching for a hotel that had a great location, price and all around good reviews. We finally found it through travel republic once we were told we were confirmed. We traveled over 200 miles finally arriving at our hotel to be told they didn't have our reservation. We thought hey, no problem, let's just call the company. Oh boy, that is when the trouble began. The phone call started with "we tried to reach you yesterday (which according to our very well working phones and email they did not) to tell you that the booking was not placed(after we had already received verbal confirmation that it had been confirmed from the travel agent)". The credit card placed under the booking number had already been charged, which is absolutely absurd considering the hotel never even had availability. So now we are stuck on the phone with the travel agency for 40 minutes after getting nowhere they tell us they have another room at the hotel lobby we are sitting in but it is well over $150 pounds more. Again after asking the travel company to uphold their pricing we locked in 3 days prior, we get nowhere and just decide to book the room for the extra cost. They need my card again for the difference and charge my card immediately along with confirming the booking was done and that an email would be sent with our confirmation via email in 15-20 mins. 30 minutes later while still in the lobby of our supposed to be hotel(who were very gracious and understanding of our situation) we call back again and ask where the confirmation email is, only to find out that they had been calling other hotels for a room for us because once again the booking was a scam. The room was not available, it was never available according to the hotel in which we have now been in for over an hour. Finally the "booking manager" who we have asked countless times to speak with has now been transferred to us. She proceeds to tell us she has found another room in a different location but the same hotel chain for 294 pounds(wow that's amazing!) for our entire 3 night stay, we confirm with the the hotel that we are currently at and are told the 294 is per night, which now has put us out an additional 344 pounds with fees and breakfast(which we kept saying we didn't want/need but they wouldn't book it without tacking on our breakfast fees). I am embarrassed to say that it took us to this point to finally give us and say forget it. This whole fiasco was a complete nightmare. In total we spent 3 hours in the hotel lobby from beginning to end dealing with this awful and useless company, another 2 with having to find and then drive to an available near by hotel, an entire day(in which we had things previously planned out) was wasted from our holiday. If they had just been upfront with us from the beginning and told us "I'm sorry, we'll reverse the charges, we can no longer honor what we originally sold your hotel to you for the prices we set" we would have most likely understood and gone quietly. I'm sure we obviously would have been upset but to lost an entire day of our trip due this companies lack of professionalism, customer service, communication and concern is horrifying and I hope no one else ever has to deal with something as awful as this. On that note, the credit card charges have still not been removed. Also, I really hope this reaches trip advisor or any other sites, as we know "Yelp" is not a common or even a known form of social media reviews in Europe of the UK.

Our Travel Republic Nightmare - Avoid This Operator At All Costs Just wanted to warn others about Travel Republic to hopefully avoid others holiday turning into a nightmare. Here's what's happened so far... On the 25th February 2015 we booked flights, hotel and airport parking via their website that allowed us to book the bungalow at... http://www.isabelfamilyhotel.com/en/bungalows-en.html ... for 2 adults and 3 children (13yo/11yo/4yo). We really loved the bungalow as it was more private so less chance of noise compared with built up apartment blocks / hotels and they all had a terrace and a gardened area. Perfect, just what we wanted after many many hours of searching various websites. Then after we are informed that Ryanair can't do the flights at the price we booked at, and there would be a £61 additional cost. Obviously unhappy about this we finally agreed, thinking everything is confirmed now, not so. On the 9th April, that's right 43 days after our booking, we get notified that, and I quote... "The hotel supplier has advised that the room type you have booked does not accommodate 5 people. Therefore they will accommodate you in two interconnecting rooms at no additional cost. " ... so remove the beautiful bungalow picture with gardens and terrace and now replace that a 4-5 story high apartment blocks with no gardens or terrace. When questioned on why we were able to book this they keep blaming the "hotel supplier", however their site has now been fixed so 2 adults and 3 children can't book the bungalow. Trying our best to be reasonable, we explained that our 4yo loves her blow up ready bed and will be sleeping in our room and their website states that 2 adults, 2 children and a cot so would this be possible ? or could we move to one of the villas they offer which are similar, and we were told, and I quote... "Please find below an email from your hotel supplier: "We have spoken to the hotel and the option that guests offer (the blow up bed) is not viable for security reasons. Also the villas are fully booked for the period of stay of these guests, so it wouldn't be an option either… Our last intention is to ruin these guests holidays but we have offered a feasible option, 2 apartments with a connecting door in which the guest will have directly access to each other apartment in case that it is any matter with the children… As I previously said, if the guests are not satisfied with this alternative, they are still on time to cancel the booking without fees." Now we can cancel the hotel however Travel Republic wont refund the flights. I know they are separate purchases, however when this whole mess is their fault and it took them 43 days to let us know so now all the prices have gone up even if we do book elsewhere, you would think they would be own up to this being their fault and do something. We've even looked to try and find other villas / bungalows etc in the same area but there's nothing. It's a shame they can't be as quick with such issues compared to the fast turn around to charge you another £61 on your flights. Oh and good luck trying to get things resolved on the phone, the best option seems their online ticket system where they seem to write comments about you as well and I quote... "On the Hotel website it clearly says 5 people can fit in a bungalow ... Customer is unhappy about the interconnecting rooms due to safety of children... Please can we double check there is no rooms as she is so angry, she has had a pup on her flights too! Thank you." Lesson learned for me, my family and anyone who cares to listen to my story on this. I'll never use Travel Republic again. So now we're waiting (wont hold our breath) if they can put us in two of the bungalows as they are interconnecting, put up with built up apartments or take action to recover the money. And this is just the logistics, we had hoped to get away somewhere nice and quiet to get over a very challenging year and Travel Republic just want to add to the stress, never again. Sarah Smith
