There was an error in my booking and despite numerous telephone calls and email correspondence Travel Republic were at best disinterested. I was never able to speak with anyone in a managerial position, as apparently they will only respond to emails. They also do not seem to be able to speak with the hotels that they use. I was transferred from one person to another and had to continually repeat my story. The phone calls from me were met with unhelpful responses such as "you will have to wait a bit longer"or "the hotel is in another country" ! There is no customer service, and most correspondence/ communication is poor. The whole experience was upsetting, costly ( premium rate telephone calls), and unnecessary, since I sorted things out for myself directly with the hotel. DO NOR USE THIS SHAM OF A COMPANY.

I had booked a hotel in Havana with travel Republic on the understanding that I could cancel free before May 22, about 2 weeks before departure. I paid the €1 booking deposit. My plans changed and when I went to cancel they charged me €40 admin fee which I could do nothing about as they already had my card details. Very dishonest practice, Do not trust this outfit, I will never use again.

3 weeks prior to travelling to Torremolinos was informed by Travel Republic that our accommodation was no longer available due to overbooking. They offered us alternative hotels nowhere near where we wanted.When checking reviews about them we wernt happy.Contacted them by e mail and phone explaining that we had chose our hotel on past experience,location and quality of food.We had booked the hotel last October and could not understand why they waited until 3 weeks before we went to tell us it wasn't available.I explained that i was recovering from cancer and picked that particular hotel and area. They were very indifferent and when we picked another hotel in our desired area we had to pay nearly another £100 When we arrived in Torremolinos we went round to our first choice hotel and was surprised to find it closed for renovations.Why couldn't travel company have been up front with us instead of telling us it was overbooked.We have used Travel Republic for several years but will not be using them again.

I booked a holiday with my partner to a lovely hotel on lake combo, I was really looking forward to it as I'd travelled there the year before with some friends. I wanted to return to the same hotel on the same part of the lake. Then 16 days before my travel date I received an email from travel republic informing me that my booking had been cancelled , but an alternative hotel had been offered to me in a different resort. I de died to request a full refund as I had paid in full when making my booking.

Use Travel Republic with great caution.They sub contracted our holiday to Sun Hotels (no mention of them sub contracting your booking on there website) who booked with the hotel the wrong rooms. We booked sea view with a balcony, yet Sun Hotels booked rooms without sea view or balcony. Travel Republic said that Sun Hotels were the booking agent and not themselves, even thought we booked with Travel Republic. They said we could up-grade for an extra payment of £10 per room, per night or cancel and have our deposit back. Guess what we did!

1) Mis-Sold a hotel. Turns out the hotel doesn't like large groups which we booked. We noticed this 1 month before due to depart on another booking website. The hotel wanted €300pp deposit and reserved the right to turn you away on arrival, not worth the risk. Nothing detailed on their website but turns out it's mentioned others and forums. 2) Waited 3 weeks for a response on this issue, and they responded by email, definitely warrented a phone call I feel 3) Passed around various departments, nobody taking ownership of the error. Also told a manager would phone and they were open until 10, I got an email and they closed at 8. 4) We are expected to foot the bill for travel republic's mistake. There were other hotels we could have booked at the time for the same price, now they are nearly 3x more expensive Still hoping to get this resolved Travel Republic.

If it seems to good to be true it probably is! We booked a 4 star hotel in majorca flights and transfers with Travel Republic. Don't be fooled into thinking this means you have booked a package holiday. I had an email 4 days after booking the holiday to say they made a mistake what they actually booked was a 2 star hotel!!!!! They were prepared to refund the accommodation....all £1 of it. The rest of the deposit was actually the flights. However I was not only liable for the deposit I paid but the rest of the the cost of the flights and the transfers which amounted to roughly £900.

They did a mistake with our shuttle transfer and don' t recognize that. TRAVEL REPUBLIC IS A SCAM. Don't book anything with them!!!

It is impossible now to book a holiday on their website. Most screens 'hang' and when I start again, the flight I wanted isn't available. They are inadequate as an online booking company.

Booked some flights for August in January and had to cancel the same day. Travel Republic refused to help me in any way and charged the full amount. Everyone else, Expedia, Booking.com has been more than helpful Travel Republic is almost a scam. Avoid at all costs!

Made booking 11 days earlier and charged £40 cancelled booking because of negative reviews and no conformation e mail. Not travelling until April but charged £40. Advised I either paid this or my booking would continue and it would cost me more. It is not clear that they charge you misled said free cancellation.......e mail address wrong no confirmation when contacted them earlier had not realised had wrong e mail. Had registered and had two e mails for registering. Advised my fault nothing could be done. Complained higher waste of time. Never ever use them again family also disgusted. Travel a lot first time used them friends family and colleagues advised never to use.

Unclear that there is a cancellation fee when booking. 'Amendments' to bookings are free up to a few days before travel, but you are not told that this does NOT include cancelling your booking.

Booked hotel accommodation in London via Travel Republic. Arrived to find that Sun Hotels (who Travel Republic had apparently subcontracted the booking to, although there is no mention of this on the website) had not processed the booking, and money paid by me to TR had not been transferred to Travel Lodge. Therefore Travel Lodge requesting that I pay again. Thankfully I had printed off all paperwork to prove payment. Travel Lodge staff were brilliant and sorted it all out. They advised me to book directly with Travel Lodge in future.

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID. I booked Disney tickets with this company, and then paid extra to get them delivered by special delivery. After being told they would be sent out that day, I took the next morning offf work to wait for the postie, and when they didn't arrive I phoned a travel republic, only to be told that they would be with me the following morning, so I agin took the next morning off work, and yet again they didn't arrive. I phoned them yet again, only to be told that they do not send them and that I had to print them offf myself. I explained that I had paid extra for them to be sent as I did not have a printer and I then requested a refund. The silly girl on the end of the phone told me, you can cancel, but we will not refund you, so I asked to speak with a manager. The manager told me he would personally look into my complaint and then phone me back the following day, four weeks on and I'm still waiting for that call. My advise to anyone thinking about using this company, is don't! They are the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with.

I booked a room for Abu Dhabi. When I contacted the hotel, they said they had no booking. Contacted TR who said the hotel provider could no longer offer rooms at the booked price. Offered several unacceptable alternatives. Booking cancelled and confirmed by TR that no fees due. Couple of weeks after money is taken from my account by the original hotel. This could have only happened if TR had given my bank details to the hotel. Currently still waiting to get my money back. This company is a shambles

I BOOKED HOTEL AND FLIGHTS BUT HOTEL CANCELLED BY TRAVEL REPUBLIC AFTER BOTH FLIGHTS AND HOTEL CONFIRMED STATING THAT PRICE HAD INCREASED FOR HOTEL AND UNLESS I WAS PREPARED TO PAY TRIPLE THE ORIGINAL PRICE I WOULD HAVE TO REBOOK OR CANCEL. NO EQUIVELANT HOTEL AT THE PRICE PAID AND TRAVEL REPUBLIC AFTER I REQUESTED THE CANCELLATION OF FULL TRIP INCLUDING FLIGHTS, REFUSED, STATED THAT THEY HAD CONTACTED THOMAS COOK WHO REFUSED TO CANCEL FLIGHTS. BUT I SPOKE TO AGENT AT THOMAS COOK WHO STATED THEY HAD NO RECORD OF BEING CONTACTED BY TRAVEL REPUBLIC, IN OTHER WORDS THEY HAD LIED TO ME. DID NOT EVEN BOTHER OFFERING AN ALTERNATIVE JUST HAPPY TO LEAVE ME WITH 3 USELESS FLIGHTS. NEVER, EVER WILL I RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

I booked a hotel with Travel republic which was described as a family room with a sea view. After receiving my hotel voucher i noted that the description said: park view. I contacted travel Republic on the morning of the 18th September and they confirmed the error (in addition the hotel also confirmed that they do not have any family rooms with a sea view) They told me that they would contact their hotel supplier to change the room and that i would hear within 48 hours. It is now the afternoon of the 21st September. I have since spoken to Travel Republic at length 3 times and emailed them twice and i am still waiting for them to resolve the error. It seems that as soon as they have your money they don't care. Appalling customer service which is very disappointing as i have used them before. I have complained to ABTA.

Just imagine that.... u call to book holiday with them and they tell u that u can book any holiday if u dont have british pasport. And believe me i asked again, because i was thinking i heard wrong. And woman repeated that this company only for people holding british pasport. Is it possible? ?no explanation nothing jist rude ridiculous answer.

Booked holiday for me and autistic child with travel republic. There description of hotel far from honest. Hotel was dirty, very noisy and unsanitary. Child and myself had little sleep during stay due to noise level.on return flight with easyjet They cancelled flight indefinitely. When this happened my child became very distraught as this type of thing would on autistic child. I was stuck with very little money left in own account (on carers allowance ) I was left with no choice than to use child's savings at cost of £324. Had to book with flybe to different airport then had to pay taxi £70 to complete journey. Out of pocket altogether nearly £400. Tried to get refund from TR who have turned me away and said they will not assist me in any way. This was a harrowing experience and left me financially struggling. I am lone parent and can say this company is a disgrace.
