we were due to travel on 20th march, on 17th FCO advised against all travel, I canx my package holiday via email and have been emailing them constantly since, just getting back generic message as said before. Nobody is manning phones. I have had NOTHING back from them. My insurance does cover me and I just want a cancellation invoice so I can claim on my insurance. I know they are busy but its just disgraceful! I don't know what to do, anyone any advice please

Disgraceful the way they have handled the Coronavirus situation. Call your bank and block payment.

Travel Republic are not up front or clear about what they are offering. They are agents for airlines, holiday companies and hotels. Our holiday was cancelled by the C-19 outbreak. It was impossible to contact them before our cancelled out going date. They asked us not to, anyway, as they said that they were dealing with getting tourists home. So I didn’t. But our problems started before that. I thought I had booked a package with them. Flight and hotel. But when I wanted to book, seats, and meals, I was told by TR to phone Jet2 . myself. That came as a surprise, but I did it. It was a nuisance because I thought Travel Rebublic were a travel agent in the usual meaning of the word. Then came the cancellation. Their website isn’t easy to negotiate . I wasn’t told clearly that I could get a refund. I found iout myself. No answer was sent to me to my emails. Just generic blah blah. Then yesterday I was sent a email from them saying that I would be sent a credit note ( eventually.) It would be valid for 6 months. I don’t want a credit note, I want my money back. I don’t go abroad in August as it’s in the school holidays and also too hot. I think it’s going to be a struggle to get my money back. After all my husband and I have been though during the last couple of years...it’s really the pits from this shady so called travel agents. Their ATOL paper work states clearly that you will get your money back....but I suppose they think if they make it difficult for you, you might give up and accept a credit note...or as we are pensioners, dead from C-19. Lol

They are sitting on our money 🤬 Travel republic cancelled my hotel reservation and offered an unusable credit note rather than a refund. I contacted the hotel directly and was told that Travel Republic only pay them 90 days AFTER check out. Travel Republic are sitting on our money. Their generic email says that they have to chase suppliers to get our money back, in my case this is a LIE. I am contactIng my credit card provider to reverse the transaction ASAP.

My flight to Turkey was from Gatwick but the airline changed the return flight to Stanstead. As this was a major change I asked Travel Republic to cancel the flights and transfers, which they did. They confirmed the cancellation on 5th February but have not yet made a refund. Two emails later I am still waiting for a reply. It is nigh on impossible to get through on the telephone. The only thing they do speedily and efficiently is take your money. I would not touch this company again with a barge pole and strongly advise anyone considering using them to think again

Not going into detail but basically same story as many others. They have already had approx £2000 & just sent message saying they are going to take another £1400 of my money. I think none of us are going to get back or even the credit note (not that it is any use or a fair/legal offer) . They will close company, rebrand & do it all again. Shameful that we have people so willing to treat fair paying customer so badly without any guilt or remorse.

Travel Republic are so bad and it's beyond belief how they are conducting themselves right now - I am trying to re book or obtain a refund for my flight booking to the USA and they have told me that I need to contact the airline myself or claim on my travel insurance. I have contacted the airline and they are unable to help because the booking was made through TR. Why are you giving out instructions such as this when you must know that airlines won't amend bookings made through agents ? You have switched off your phones and are not responding to emails, your customer service is utterly appalling ! You need to get your act together fast and look after your customers, you are so utterly poor and useless. It's obvious that you are trying to rip people off by keeping our money and telling people to sort it out themselves. You won't get away with it !!!

I would leave no stars if I could! Booking cancelled due to coronavirus - I contacted TR on the day EU travel was banned, I was told at that time that my flights could be moved but was advised to wait for a statement from the airlines. No support answered in the meantime - they then turn their phone lines off and send an email saying flights were cancelled with no refund, voucher or postponement - advised to contact airlines or travel insurance with no joy - I am now £3,900 out of pocket

Just been advised by Travel Republic that they cancelled our reservation due to Covid virus. They have decided to hold our money and issue a credit note, no offer of a refund - credit note is only valid for 6 months and goodness knows when normal travel might resume! I contacted the hotel directly and they said they do not get paid by Travel Republic until 90 days after check-out date. Travel Advisors and experts on TV say DO NOT accept a credit note, so now battling it out with TR to get my refund. So far they haven't replied to me. Will go to my credit card provider to reverse the transaction if I don't get a quick reply/refund.

Over an hour on hold. Then said they wouldn't let us change our hotel date. Book direct with hotels. I've learnt an expensive lesson.

Just want to leave a quick review about Travel republic. I do not recommend this booking agent to anyone. I have a story in relation to how we have been scammed by Travel Republic (holiday agent) stating that it is safe to travel to Thailand. I have voice recording of the person stating this despite my parents chronic health conditions. We have been lied about our booking regarding changing dates because of this whereby we were told that they have contacted the hotel who refused to changed the dates. I have contacted the hotel in person where i have discovered their lies and how no one from Travel republic or any other agent contacted them in relation to this booking. The hotel was very helpful and is willing to change dates or even offer a refund. We are now been told that it is safe to travel to Thailand by travel republic despite the Coronavirus and FCO advise. This company is scamming people for money and i have proof of persons spoken to and voice recordings. I am willing to provide further as this should be published to all as Travel Republic are playing with peoples health.

I booked a hotel in Cuba with travel republic.at a cost for f €898.00 when I booked it they took full payment for my booking and immediately confirmed my booking .when we arrived at the hotel they had no reservations for me so they took pre authorization payment for the booking from credit.card after 4 days I had to check out they still had no payment from travel republic so the hotel had to bill me at a cost of €1150. While I was there I tried to contact travel republic by emailing them and get t no reply from them also by phone when on the phone I was put on hold for 15mins and still got no answer the cost of the phone call was €60 . I got my sister back home in Ireland to contact them and she did so they were aware of my situation in Cuba and done nothing to help me out with the problem I was having they told my sister that the payment had gone trough to the hotel but was untrue . So when I got home I contacted them myself to arrange a refund and also compensation for the extra money I had to pay after a lot of email and phone calls they refused to compensate me the extra money I had to pay and they would only refund me my initial payment. I’ve only received that payment today after nearly 8 weeks . I will never use there website again as I felt they are very untrustworthy and unprofessional to deal with .

DO NOT use travel republic! I booked a surprise holiday for my husbands 40th. I paid for bed and breakfast 10 months prior to travelling. On the booking I speficially stated that we both had dietary requirements. Upon arriving at the hotel, we went for breakfast to discover there was literally nothing we could eat. I complained to the hotel reception pointing out they knew 10 months we had requirements so should have made some arrangements for us as we'd paid for it. Turns out, when Travel Republic sent the booking to the hotel, they never sent the dietary request so the hotel had no idea. After being on the phone to TR for 30 mins (whilst on holiday) and after much arguing about who's fault it was, they agreed to refund me £66. Fair enough. Jordan in the complaints department asked if I still had the card it was booked on. I said no as this was a credit card paid off and destroyed months ago. I also pointed out that I had not budgeted for having to buy breakfast all week for 2 people so wanted the cash to replace the extra money I had to spend. He said it would go into my bank account instead. I check my bank today and of course, it's been put back onto my zero balance credit card that I no longer own. I can't transfer it to my current account as it's under £100.I can't put more money onto the card to enable me to transfer it as it's paid off. So now I have a refund I can't access. Another long phone call to TR and they said basically it's tough as it's cleared from their account and I need to contact my bank. I've now had to order a replacement card and pin which I didn't want to do when it's been paid off and waste my spending money for our holiday on breakfasts that I had already paid for.

Completely useless customer service and a booking system designed to force you in to spending money needlessly. God forbid you make an administrative error and you want to alter within 24 hours of booking, as they have already sent your money off to 3 different places with no protocol in place to retrieve it in the likely event that their poorly designed website forces a booking error. Not only this, you're then forced to sit on a phoneline with a 7 second loop of the most abrasive, annoying Spanish music known-to-man - which I assume is there to force their many complainants to hang-up prematurely - as even when you DO get through, you're about to be told there is a cancellation fee for a hotel that ON ITS OWN WEBSITE advertises free cancellation until 24 hrs before, 48 hrs for their 'partners', of which TravelRepublic clearly is not. Selling 'accommodation vouchers' for a higher price that hold less value. Got my calls hung up on TWICE by their support team. Feel violated by this shoddy excuse for a business.

Shocking customer service, took weeks to reply to a simple request to change dates and then wanted to charge me 40% of the weekly cost to reduce the days I was planning to stay. I will never use them again.
