“Their business model is extortion: 1. they list your website which becomes a complaint box and fair game for competitors and unverified reviews. 2. the unverified reviews harm you, because 99% of customers who are satisfied will not review on TP unsollicited. The 1% with a bad experience will complain, hence giving you a 1 star rating. 3. They contact you, asking you two shell out huge amounts just to be able to send them verified reviewers 4. suddenly you move from 1 star to 5 star. You're the same company with the same service, the only difference is now you're paying them a lot of money. My question is: how is this platform actually benefiting the consumer if the "trust" score only reflects how much money TP is getting?”

“The Worst! Our company has been a paying customer of Trustpilot for 4 years. We've had minor issues from time to time they refused to resolve (ie: a customer review "The best website! I recommend to everyone!" with a 1-star rating; if the review clearly doesn't match the star, they don't care). What prompted this bad review, however, is that they've arbitrarily decided the price we are paying for their service is too low. Effective on our renewal date they will be increasing our fee by 120%! This is extortion. We are not utilizing any more of the service. Our monthly review count has not increased. They have no justification for the increase except they claim we are under paying for their services (a fee we've been paying for 4 years!). They also own your reviews. You cannot take them with you or use them with Google. They trap you into never leaving. Don't get trapped by Trustpilot. DO NOT USE TRUSTPILOT. Find anyone else.”

“I gave Newegg.com a negative review for manipulating the product reviews on their own website. I discovered that Newegg was deleting my negative product reviews without notice or explanation. Then Newegg turned around and protested my review on Trustpilot because it didn't mention a "customer service experience" and Trustpilot dutifully took down my review. So I guess Newegg games their reviews all across the internet.”

“I looked up a company called Smart Start, Inc. after an absolutely horrible year using their device to find positive reviews. I found that hard to believe, so I tried to post a negative review, and it would not post. Then I tried to post a negative review on Trustpilot, which also failed. That's why they are so well rated.”

“Worst service, I have given genuine review for Moverjet Logistics, they removed that review stating that I wasn't able to provide my authenticity, but when I asked them for process they have not got back to me, now they got back after 3 months, if they are this slow in finding authenticity whats the big point of running a company, this is the worst company in the world”

“B.S. review site. If you leave a negative review of a business a business that business needs to just complain and say your review is fake and your review will be removed. I agree businesses have rights too, which is why both comments should stay so readers can make an informed decision about mentioned businesses. Use Yelp or Google, much more reputable review services!”

“This is sham review website where any legitimate criticism (and in my case in relation to actual medicinal product safety sold online by an (on the face of it) fraudulent vendor, which refuses to justify its position) was deleted. Effectively Trustpilot is merely a cheap marketing operation, which cannot and should not be relied on by anybody.”

“These schmucks do not understand the meaning of "stop contacting me" - I've tried for years to get them to leave me and the company I work for alone to no avail. Sales people have called me from dozens of numbers, sent tons of emails, messaged / harassed me on LinkedIn - if you ask me, they are DESPERATE for money! 0/10 would never recommend dealing with these chumps.”

“I really wish I could give them 0 stars, but 1 will have to do. This company contacted mine and attempted to extort close to $5000 USD from us in exchange for a better review score. The negative reviews were all placed up in regular intervals, totally vague, and all our legitimate positive reviews were hidden. They are clearly responsible for manufacturing this score - our other review sites are 4 to 5 stars with actual customer reviews. This company, like the BBB, is attempting to use their authority to beat business owners into submission. They have very high domain authority so they will rank really high when people search for your company. They have a partnership with Google....which means there's no stopping them from being outright sleazebags since their status is protected. I have one recommendation for anyone reading this: do NOT communicate with the company. If they email you, don't respond. If you see bad reviews on your page, do not contact them or make an account. The idea is to STAY OFF THEIR RADAR. You will become a target for extortion if they see that the review score is of concern to you. The only way to deal with them is to just ignore them completely and focus on legitimate review sites. Disgusting company. Check their wikipedia if you don't believe me. "Trustpilot have fake reviews on an almost industrial scale"”

“Terrible company! They allow fake reviews which are not even verified. When we call them to inform them they hide behind their policies etc and give you excuses how they can’t remove it. They claim they are allowing people to have freedom of speech even when the Reviews are defamation and falsified. Spoke to Thomas who was unhelpful and rude! Shame on you Trustpilot!”

“Spent half an hour writing a review about the online legal advice co "just answer" scam, only to find out that i could not post it due to email verification problems, or selective manipulation of reviews in favour of the recipient of the reviews as i prefer to call it. will advise all to disregard this site and personally cease to use it.”

“My issues with Trust Pilot is that they say they remain objective, but they really don't. They are happy to let people leave false negative reviews, but not do anything about them. How can you remain objective when you side with the negatives? They hide behind policies and say that you should just reply to the negative explaining the issues, but that doesn't stop your reviews looking crappy. They also won't ever remove anyone from the system, so you are stuck with it. If someone want's to feed loads of negative reviews to you, then you have to just suck it up.”
