Trust Pilot are not in the least bit trustworthy. They have approached my company to sell their service. They offered to generate many reviews for me from day one, so that my company appeared to have a good history very quickly. They also said they could "manage" my online reputation. This meant that they could remove negative reviews if necessary. Their affiliation with Google means that their five star reviews allow companies to gain rank and also stars within the search engine results. I have seen and have screen printed very negative reviews on one of our competitors Trust Pilots pages being removed regularly. On a personal level, I posted a negative review on a company that I purchased faulty items from. They refused to answer emails or the phone, and the service was non existent. My review, along with dozens more posted that week, were all removed within a couple of days. This is despite my proving that I was a genuine customer. Trust Pilot engage with retailers that have a very poor reputation, and actively encourage people to spend money with them. The company itself is dishonest and unethical to the core.

I posted a very negative but completely honest and fair review of a UK leisure balloon flight (non)provider on Trustpilot. The review was there for possibly over a year. Then I was contacted and informed that the company had reported my review, claiming I was not a genuine customer. Trustpilot has removed (i.e. censored) my review. I have been required to provide evidence of my custom and my experiences. I suspect the company reporting my review imagined that, after such a long time, I wouldn't have kept any proof of my experiences. They were wrong. I have provided lots of evidence and am now waiting to see if Trustpilot will reinstate my review. What concerns me is that Trustpilot claims "No company can delete or otherwise censor reviews." However, companies are apparently subverting that, with the collusion of Trustpilot. After the email requiring me to prove that I was indeed a genuine customer, I checked out the Trustpilot review page for the company in question. Lo & behold, the company - which elsewhere has a shocking reputation for customer dissatisfaction, on account of charging a lot of money for balloon flights that it never provides - has a five-star rating on Trustpilot. Not a negative review among 'em! It is not unreasonable to conclude that the reason there are no negative reviews is because the company is de facto 'deleting' or censoring them, via misuse of Trustpilot's bias reporting system, which apparently favours paying clients. Trustpilot works as a User Generated Content product, selling the idea that the public are helping one another to make informed choices by sharing their consumer experiences via reviews they provide, free of charge, to Trustpilot. At the same time, Trustpilot sells those reviews to companies to improve those companies' reputations. Consumers naively imagine they are reading fair, impartial reviews, being allowed to see the whole picture, and therefore being enabled to make informed decisions. When Trustpilot colludes with its paying clients - businesses - to misrepresent those companies to the public by presenting an unbalanced picture, then it is actually disempowering and misleading consumers. And that ain't trustworthy.

Scam Artist - Stay Away After having their service for a year, they automatically renew without asking and jack the rates up $1,200. We have been talking with them for months on how unhappy we are with their service and knew we would not want to renew. This was after they could not even do what we paid them for the first year. They were suppose to cover 2 websites service reviews and product reviews but they only were able to do service reviews on one of the websites. Never offered to discount the price, then jack the rates up another $1,200. When we told them that we don't want to renew, they said too late because they renewed our account automatically and are now trying to charge $132 per month interest.

I thought I was giving a genuine anonymous reviews, un-yet within moments of me posting the review, the company I was reviewing, had replied with details of the order, I was reviewing. Are TRUSTPILOT and the companies being reviewed in collusion with one another?

They take your reviews down regardless of how you phrase it. Write a review, go back a month, a week or a day from when you wrote it and you will find it's been removed, archived etc without notification to yourself. Waste of time, and very shady company. They take down reviews in exchange for sponsorship from the retailers the site serves. its anything but impartial. not trustworthy AT ALL. This has happened with almost every single review anyone in my family has written, regardless of how factually accurate it is.

I had two separate companies in to try and sell me their products using trustpilot reviews to demonstrate how good they are. One of the companies, when flicking through reviews found a negative one and accidentally said that it would be removed by tomorrow before correcting himself to say he meant it would be deal with and the customer's issues would be resolved. Further digging into these two companies revealed a raft of people having had bad experiences but there were only good ones on Trustpilot! Scam.

I have had issues with Arnold Clark! Even presenting trustpilot with proof and details of poor service received from Arnold Clark they keep sending an automated email back saying that they have removed my post as Arnold Clark don't recognise me as a customer despite giving trustpilot all the Arnold Clark complaint reference details. What's the point of Trustpilot?? Ridiculous!!

Trustpilot is the best review platform out on the market. Looks like a ton of the negative reviews on here are from customers of companies that work with Trustpilot and not of actual customers of Trustpilot.

This is a fraud site promoting OUTSTANDING reviews for websites that sell poor, inferior or stolen material by giving EXCELLENT REVIEWS on said sites. US Department of justice is now conducting an evaluation of such practices conducted by TRUST PILOT. BEWARE OF FRAUD SITES PROMOTED BY FAVORABLE REVIEWS FOR SUBSCRIBERS. .

My Husband and I wrote reviews for a bedding company - giving order number as requested but they were rejected. We e-mailed back, as we were told we could do, but Trust-pilot didn't even have the decency to respond. Trust-pilot is a waste of space!!!!!! Joan Stratford

I tried to post genuine reviews for 3 different online companies on TrustPilot, one didn't get published and in other they kept finding faults in the words I was using so I gave up at the end.

Trustpilot have no interest in posting perfectly genuine reviews. Will ask for proof of service and when presented with them will still delete your review. Don't trust their reviews. They are only interested in protecting their paying customers at the expense of truth. All the reviews on here of them just about says it all!

From the point of view of a buisness they are shocking to deal with. I think if we used their paid service it would be better but we don't so we mostly get ignored. We had a rude and aggressive customer who left a malicious review on Trustpilot which was not factual and they will not remove it. After repeated emails asking for a resolution either way they have still not replied. My advice is that if you must pay for a review site use a different one as Trustpilot is so understaffed that it cannot deal with problems and your business will suffer as a result.

I also wrote a negative review for a company called Bird-B-Gone. Trustpilot removed my opinion and demanded a rediculous amount of paperwork to prove I was telling the truth. All I was trying to do was express my opinion of the product(VERY NEGATIVE AND RUDE PEOPLE) I guess, they only print positive reviews which means that you can not believe any reviews that they print...Guess that is what they are paid for

Trust pilot is not a legitimate review site. I did business with a company that has horrible reviews all over the internet. Interestingly the rating on Trustpilot is "Great". I wrote a negative review and they promptly sent a request for documentation or they'll remove the review. So they don't care that positive reviews are largely fake: https://www.theguardian.com/money/2013/jan/26/fake-reviews-plague-consumer-websites but they are all over people who post something negative. It's pretty clear who they get paid by.

Untrustworthy pilot will take a bad review and inform the company of what it will take to either make the review disappear. It's a business that is out to make money and there is no money in posting honest review for the poster but there is money for trust pilot if they can contact the company and warn them of the harm of negative review and then give them a financial way to solve the problem. They are making money off or your misfortune. The more negative reviews, the more the company may be wiling to pay to get rid of them and/or replace them with good review. Companies are in business to make money trust Pilot is just one of the many companies out there that does this. BBB is a major offender as they use the negative reviews for free marketing by contacting the company that you complained about. BBB will try and sell them one of their packages and then offer to keep them in good standing regardless of the negative reviews if they are a member in good standing and what I mean by good standing is a PAYING MEMBER. YElp is also a major offender that will take your misfortune and use it to solicit the company you are have problems with. In my experience, only the reviews on medical doctors remain regardless of negative or positive. However, companies are in business to make money so I believe that will eventually change as well.
