Everything was ok at first until I was lied on by 2 host for different trips claiming I was smoking in the car. The first one took pictures of some ashes. She wasn't even there to get the car when I dropped it off, her next client was so the pictures could've come from anywhere. She could've been the one smoking! Then another host claims I smoked in his car. I told turo things fall out of pockets. I left some chip crumbs but that's all. Both times they charged me and then after the second incident they closed my account for "smoking" these people are scamming for that smoking fee.

I've rented from Turo a total of three times. The first time was magical and easy, I have no bad words for my experience. The second time I had a great host but they failed to notify me that I would be paying $36 to get the car out of parking only to receive the reimbursement that night through Venmo. I did let them know that some people would not be comfortable with that given that there is no heads up. Third-time same issue with the parking cost...last minute I find out I have to pay for parking but this time there is NO reimbursement. I pay it because what am I going to do, not have a car at this point? I contact turo and they won't reimburse me. So I dispute it. Long story short, using Turo means that there is a level of variability that is SCARY and there really is only so much you are guaranteed. At least when I use a car rental agency my charges are clear once I drive away with the car.

I've used turo multiple times in the past and had a great time. HOWEVER I am writing this review while being stranded on the side of the road for 7 HOURS while 6 months pregnant. I rented a car and drove it 200 miles to a national park as planned, but had the car break down out here. The man who rented me the car has actually been as helpful as possible, but I've been transferred to 10 different turo agents because obviously none of them know how to help and don't want to deal with it. There is no one that can actually offer any help and I'm getting scared how long I'm going to be stranded, and scared I might also miss my flight home. The only thing they could offer me was to cancel my trip. But still charged me for this day, that I've spent on the side of the road in 100 degree heat while 6 months pregnant. I'm honestly terrified. This is also a last hope that someone from turo can help me get home.

The worst website and app considering they are digital middlemen. They are also deceptive and don't clearly articulate their terms. I had to call and ask them the cost of I returned my car late. I asked the car owner and he deferred me to Turo to answer questions. I tried to rent from them twice.... Never again.

As a host on Turo, I was initially excited about the prospect of earning extra income by renting out my car. However, my experience with the company quickly turned into a nightmare that I wouldn't wish upon anyone. The problems began when one of my vehicles was involved in a total loss incident while being rented out through Turo. Naturally, I expected the company to provide support and guidance during this challenging time, but instead, I was met with nothing but frustration and incompetence. First and foremost, Turo's insurance process was an absolute disaster. Despite providing all the necessary documentation and information promptly, the claims process dragged on for weeks with little to no communication from Turo's end. It was as if they were intentionally delaying the process in the hopes that I would simply give up and go away. But the lack of communication was just the tip of the iceberg. Turo's customer service was shockingly inadequate, with representatives displaying a complete lack of empathy and understanding towards my situation. Instead of offering support and guidance, they seemed more interested in passing the buck and deflecting responsibility. To add insult to injury, Turo's reimbursement for the total loss of my vehicle was laughably inadequate. Despite the car being well-maintained and in excellent condition, they offered a paltry sum that didn't even come close to covering the vehicle's value. It felt like a slap in the face after everything I had been through. In the end, I was left feeling disillusioned and betrayed by Turo. What was supposed to be a simple way to earn extra income turned into a nightmare of epic proportions. I would strongly advise any potential hosts to think twice before partnering with Turo. The company's lackluster support and incompetence make them more trouble than they're worth.

I had my car on turo for a few months and everything was great. The last person must have smoked a pound of marijuana in the car as it smelled like it when he returned it. I sold my car after that due to the foul smell. Sad one person can ruin a car with no repercussions.

Terrible, 2 hours of my life wasted that I can't get back! They must pay to come up on top of Google search, should put the money elsewhere! Found a car, entered all my details, registered, blah blah... The notice my return time is wrong, there's no option to change or edit it so I hit the "back button". This takes me all the way back to log in page! So I do it all again, find the same car, try to book, says I'm not verified, take selfies and then photos licence, front and back. The camera clicks automatically when it sees the licence, before I have time to fit it in the box! I can't control this. Wait 5+ mins and it says the photo wasn't good enough. Try again. Wait 15 minutes, no updates, the little spinny car spinning away! Chat to a bot, absolutely no help, around in circles, like the little spinny waiting car. Bot puts me on to "human" Hannah. She's possibly worse! In the end she ths is me for the advice I give on how to improve customer service and asks if she can assist further. But the only assistance was the bit I gave! For free! While she was getting paid! Wtf is happening to this world?!

After 30 days could not get phone verified. the support was NO help. I get verification codes from all types of companies, so it works. They suggested I get a new phone number. I had same number for 30 yrs was not going to do that. ALL chat support NO phone support. chat support would tell me things to do and when they couldn't figure it out they would say try in 24 hrs. same thing over n over. No one in charge you could talk to. Going to stick with rental car companies.

I rented a car from Maurice Jackson out in Destin Florida we rented the vehicle for 2 days we drove down to Louisiana during the trip my sister's purse falls out of her lap and all of the contents fall out she was able to get all of the contents back off the floor and into her purse except for her Vuse pen which we looked all over the car for and could not find so she assumed that she left it at home. Once we parked the vehicle we don't get back in the vehicle until it's time to come back and return the vehicle. Upon turning the vehicle back into its owner he greeted us and thanked us for using the service offered us another vehicle that he has the next time we want to rent and that was that. The very next day I'm out on the beach and I noticed that someone's trying to charge my credit card for $165 so I get on to the turo app to see what the problem was to find that the host has now taken our good review that he initially gave us and turned it into a bad review stating that there was a strong odor of smoke in the car which was a complete and utter lie. I barely allowed my passengers to have chips in a drink let alone smoke or vape in this guy's vehicle. Since he sees the pen he decides to lie on the app and say that he could smell a strong odor of smoke but if you know anyone who uses one of those devices they don't create a smell that's number one but number two this person sat next to me in the passenger seat as I was the driver and she never put that thing to her mouth or used it which is why she thought she left it at home when she couldn't find it. Fast forward I called the owner to clear that up he lies and tells me he's going to reach out to customer service which he never does so I reach out to customer service the next day and they tell me well he put a picture of a pen online so that's solidifies his lie that the car smells like smoke and from there you cannot get another answer from turo they constantly try to charge my card $165 every single day I reported them to my credit card company and now I'm going to report them to the Better Business Bureau if you can please do not use this company just go with a regular rental car company that won't scam you out of your money and then not allow you to talk to anybody while they're doing it. Lastly that $165 that they are trying to charge me for will be sent to collections which is going to kind of mess with my credit but won't really do any damage and then I have to dispute it from there because going through the app or calling is a complete and utter waste of your time they don't care to hear what you have to say they don't care if there's any proof they just don't care they want the money.

Horrible. Have had multiple bad experiences with this company and will not use them again. Last trip their host did not even know they had a scheduled rental, and I was left without a car in a location I was not familiar with. Their system is a mess. It is very difficult to reach customer service, and hard to communicate the problem to them. There is no protection for the customer/guest and if something happens, they will keep your money with no way to file a dispute or complaint. No protection with this company would not recommend.

Extremely Disappointed with Turo's Claim Handling I had an incredibly frustrating experience with Turo's claim processing. After my car was involved in an accident, I filed the necessary claim on the same day I retrieved my vehicle. However, Turo has been extremely slow in handling the claim, leaving it unresolved for over two weeks. To make matters worse, they then requested the same evidence photos I had already submitted at the time of filing. This lack of organization and efficiency has caused unnecessary delays and added stress to the situation. Now we are getting emails that are threatening to close the claim in 48 hours if we don't send the proof that they have already received twice. I am very disappointed with their service and would caution others about using Turo for their car rental needs. I wish I could get a different representative with more experience in severe cases as these but no one cares.

My experience with TURO rental car during my recent trip to LA was nothing short of a nightmare. After renting a car, I encountered a flat tire the very next day. I immediately called the roadside assistance number provided, hoping for a prompt resolution. Little did I know that this would mark the beginning of a day-long ordeal. From 3:47 PM until past 8 PM, I waited patiently for assistance that never arrived. With no alternative in sight, I had to foot the bill for a towing truck myself. By the time I retrieved a replacement swipe car from the rental location, it was nearing 9:40 PM—effectively wasting an entire precious vacation day out of my four-day trip. To add insult to injury, not a single person I interacted with during this ordeal offered an apology. Instead, I was met with consistently poor attitudes. Some representatives even resorted to pretending they couldn't hear me, repeatedly saying "hello" until abruptly hanging up. In summary, my experience with TURO was utterly abysmal. I strongly advise anyone considering renting from them to steer clear. This company's disregard for customer service and the resulting impact on my vacation time was wholly unacceptable. Stay away at all costs.

With just one day remaining on our BMW reservation with Kyrylo Pierov through Turo, we encountered a flat tire while merging onto the freeway. Surprisingly, the flat occurred on the one tire without a recognized brand, simply labeled "Made in Ukraine," while the other three were Pirelli Run Flat tires. It took a lengthy 2.5 hours for roadside assistance to arrive and retrieve the car, resulting in a day lost from our rental period. Turo recommended to have the BMW towed to the owners garage, hence I will be out my last day of rental. Upon contacting the host about this issue, we received no meaningful assistance. We informed them that due to the flat tire, in which the car is being towed back to him with his already approval with Turo, we wouldn't be able to refill it with fuel since to now have possession of the rental. To our dismay, the host then sent us an invoice for a full tank of gas along with a refueling fee. This situation is unacceptable as the rental failed to provide a properly maintained tire, yet expects us to bear the cost. We refuse to pay for the extra gas charges, and also requested a refund with Turo for the day's rate that we were unable to utilize the car. I received an email from Turo saying they would reach out to me, but the next morning, they charged my credit card for the extra amount. I immediately contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge. My advice to everyone is to steer clear of Turo and opt for reputable car rental companies like Enterprise Exotics. It's just not worth the hassle.

Rented my vehicle out through Turo, customer brings the vehicle back without replenishing the fuel. Filed a claim with Turo, the claim was denied without any explanation. Renters beware, they are not a company that cares about ethics or ensuring their renters are treated with fairness.

I was told by the co host I could return the car earlier but he didn’t know what I was talking about when I mentioned that he had to go in and approve my change request. So I called an agent and they made the change. I returned the car less than 24hrs after picking it up. Then they charged my card $1000+ and wouldn’t return it cause the host never went in and approved the change …..cause he didn’t know how!!!!
