Wish I could give a zero! Paid for tyres on 3rd December and given appointment for 4th. Got email to contact them. Called 4 times for a total of one hour listening to soul destroying music. Mental torture! Emailed them 4 times. It’s now 5th December and on on phone again. Do NOT use these cowboys. No customer service whatsoever. I’m now in limbo and as to when my tyres will be fitted, God only knows. Am thoroughly disgusted.

One star as I can’t give zero. One star as I can’t give zero. Placed an order on 29/11 for fitting on 30/11. Money taken, confirmation email to say I would be messaged on the morning of the 30th.... nothing. I rang to be put on hold for an hour, pressed option for a call back, had one about 2 hrs later but no one was talking, I stayed on the line saying hello for a minute but nothing. I rang again later to be on hold again for half hour so pressed again option for a call back which states about an hr. send emails, no reply. Phoned again today 1/12 on hold again so I tried phoning as a new customer... phone got answered straight away. I explained my situation to be put on hold for another half hour... I’d had enough at this point so I hung up and rang again as a new customer this time he didn’t put me on hold. He did tell me tho that the fitter had cancelled my order yesterday!! I was like why did he and why wasn’t I told. He said he’d ring me back as the fitter cancelled the job but he didn’t action a refund to me and as the fitter isn’t in work today he will chase it up for me.... this was this morning and I’m still waiting on a refund and a phone call grrrr will never ever use tyre in the drive again. I first used these 6 years ago before Halfords took over but now after reading other peoples bad reviews also I won’t be coming back.

This company has no customer at heart. I placed an order for 4 tyres on a Friday to be fitted on Sunday between 2pm and 4pm. On Saturday an email is sent to confirm the order is in place. Sunday arrived so 2pm I am looking out for the tyres to be fitted. Nobody shows up. Just before 3pm I call the 033 number and was on hold for 1 hour and 9 seconds of which I was on hold. I left after pressing 2 for them to call me back. That was at 1549pm. They layer called at 1956pm and I missed the call. They did not seek to send an email either. Monday I sent an email at 0923am raising a complaint about the tyres. No response until I called again today on Friday which is a complete week since the tyres were ordered and paid for. When I spoke to the lady on the phone who had to call me back because nobody picks up the phone she told me that they cancelled my order because the tyres I ordered where not delivered to them on time. I then said so why didnt someone call to let me know and why ha e I not been refunded my money to which she said "oh your order was cancelled and money will be with you in three days". However, I said there is no refund in my account its Friday and according to Halfords the order was cancelled latest Saturday. At this point as I was talking to her an email was dropped into my account, I think she did. This means that no cancellation was done or refund but that work was too much for them and forgot to complete a simple job. I asked to make a complaint but was told she will escalate the issue on the system but will be getting a voucher. I said the £5 voucher? She said she doesnt know. Guess what? They just sent an£10 voucher. The maths doesnt add up. If I had not followed up there would not be a refund, my car which I use for business would remain with bad tyres, and my work hindered. £10 is the compensation for the inconvinience they have caused and the poor management and the near fraud incident carried out by this company.

Disaster, this is the email I was forced to send after I was messed around for two weeks: The way I have been treated as a customer of Halfords has been absolutely disgraceful, never in my whole life have I experienced customer service as bad as this. To summarise what I have gone through in the short space of a week: • The technician for my original appointment on Monday 15th November never showed up • The technician claimed (according to the employee I spoke to) that he had attempted to get in touch with me various times but was unable to. In reality he called once on a PRIVATE number meaning I was unable to call back, and let the line ring for less than one second giving me no opportunity to actually answer (clearly he did not ever want to speak to me but instead wanted to be able to state in the notes that he ‘tried’ to get in touch). • Following this I spent 30 minutes on hold while I continued to wait for the technician, the lady I spoke to was frankly rude and told me she would speak to the technician and call me back • Of course she did not call back, and I then proceeded to spend another 20 minutes on hold to speak to another lady (with what sounded like a South African accent), I was then told that: o The technician is too far away now and cannot come today o There is no other technician that can come today o I cannot get a refund o I will have to wait for the management hub to call me and was promised they would call back on the same day (still Monday 15th November). • Surprise surprise I did not receive a single call on Monday and then had to call back again on Tuesday to figure out what was going on. So that was Monday done, after taking the day off work to get my car sorted, I spent hours waiting for a technician who never arrived, spent around an hour on hold, was not allowed to get a refund and did not receive the call back that I was promised. On Tuesday I called and after another 20 minutes on hold I spoke to the only person who has been helpful so far, I believe his name was Dan. He was very apologetic and offered me a discount for my next service (time slot free taken off). I explained to him that I was having an operation done on Tuesday evening and therefore couldn’t re arrange until the week after. And so we locked in Monday 22nd November for the technician to come back. Note not only was he apologetic, but he admitted that Halfords were EXTREMELY understaffed and even stated that he was the ONLY employee on call for the WHOLE OF THE UK. He said that many other customers were also frustrated by the poor service too, SHOCK. Roll on Monday 22nd and I receive a call at 11.50am to be informed that the truck/van would not fit in the parking lot (even though I had made it clear that the car was located in an underground parking lot) and that the technician would speak to management to arrange a smaller van to come out on the same day and also that he (the technician) would call be back again at 12.30pm to update me. I stupidly THANKED the technician for going one step further than the technician from the week before by contacting me and said that I would wait for his call back. What ensued was unbelievably even worse than what happened the week before: • I did not hear back from the technical at 12.30pm • I attempted to call the technician back 3 times between 12.30pm - 3pm and finally left a voicemail and text • I then called Halfords customer service, spent 20 minutes on hold, spoke to a lady who put me through to another department • Spent OVER AN HOUR ON HOLD with evidence of this (1hr & 7 minutes to be precise before hanging up). The NEXT DAY (now Tuesday 23rd) I once again had to take time out of my day to try and resolve the situation, after spending 20 mins on hold I talked to a lady and made myself very clear. I want NOTHING to do with Halfords, I do not want any services now or in the future from Halfords and want a full refund IMMEDIATELY. Her response? Sorry I cannot provide a refund. Ok, I want to speak to management immediately I said. Sorry management are not answering the phone but I will get them to call you back in the next 20-30 mins… Fine. And what happened again? NO CALL BACK!!! So to summarise, I have had TWO failed technician call outs, TWO days taken off work, around 2 1/2 HOURS on hold, TWICE been told to receive a call from management who I have STILL NEVER TALKED TO and have been REFUSED MY MONEY BACK on multiple occasions. All in all I have never been so disgusted with my treatment as a customer and how anybody thinks this is acceptable is staggering. I have arranged for my car to be fixed elsewhere, by a competitor who did not leave me on hold for more than 5 minutes and showed up promptly as expected to get me out of this bind that Halfords have left me in

Ordered and paid for a complete set of four tyres, including extra for a convenient time slot. Arrived with one front and one rear tyre. Rude staff - instead of apologising, had the cheek to suggest (unsafely) that they fit one tyre per axle now and that I should place the order again. Absolute waste of time and left me frustrated and without essential tyres for my journey.

The fitter damaged both my front alloys whilst changing the tyres - I complained and was only responded to after leaving a bad review - this is the sign of a company that doesn't care. They have been dodging my emails and calls - be warned do not use.

Didn’t bother showing up. Didn’t bother calling to say they were not able to make it. Absolute farce since Halfords bought them in 2019... After speaking with customer service I was advised they were not able to get the tyres to the fitter. So... Tyres on the drive are taking your money based on commitments they are unable to fulfil. (take your money and run). Customer service is a Joke. I was waiting over 40 mins before I eventually hung up (last night). This can be explained by the fact that; the service desk they operate ( and is key to delivering quality customer service) has ZERO Service Level Agreements (SLA's) in place for answering calls, progressing issues etc. In short: I've never come across a service desk which operates without an SLA, ever.. (I've been involved with them for over 15 years). I asked to speak to a manager 3 times and had to basically argue with the guy to actually speak to a manager. Then I was put on hold (at which point I assumed he would be getting a manager)... He returned on his own saying that he was not going to be able to transfer the call to the manager as my request didn't warrant it! Absolute sham of a company.

Got 2 New tyres, within 3k miles they were bald, I've had to buy another set in order for them to send the others off for testing, 3 month turnaround I was told, now getting on for 6 months, several conversations with them, seems like they didn't send the tyres back to the supplier when they should have and now its just delay after delay with no actual reason.

Rubbish service Ordered a replacement start stop battery online to be fitted on the drive as my battery was flat. Came out fitted a new one. Two weeks later out shopping, returned to my car it wouldn’t start. Called out rac - who advised tyres on the drive had fitted complete wrong battery and it was hanging loose. This could have been extremely dangerous had it happened whilst driving. Emailed tyres on the drive numerous times now asked for rac report which I sent. Had no further correspondence. Terrible customer service - no acknowledgement for the fact this could have caused an accident. Rac engineer said the person who fitted the battery would definitely have known it was the wrong one. Obviously didn’t care. Definitely won’t be using you again 😡

I completed my order 11/5/2021 and… I completed my order 11/5/2021 and thought great that’s a good deal. Every time I arranged a date and changed working commitments and social commitments I was dropped in by Halfords the morning of fitment. This went on several times until I asked Tyres on the drive if they could get the tyres first then contact me with fitment date as they said the supplier didn’t drop the tyres off on the morning of fitment. Tyres on the drive stated they could only arrange fitment dates and if the supplier does not drop the tyres off that day there is nothing could be changed they went onto say there was no guarantees this would continue to happen where they were cancelling me. I asked for a refund and after about 10 hrs of my time and phone calls speaking to several different call handlers and being promised over 3 weeks I would receive my refund. We are now 7/7/2021 and a call for over 45 minutes with no answers to why I haven’t received my money and once again promising I would receive this in 3 to 5 days however after speaking to a manager Melissa on the 1/7/2021 who promised the same information this whole experience has got me stressed and exhausted with still no £650 refund into my account. This is the worst service I have ever had in 48 years of my life and would never recommend anyone to use tyres on the drive and after being a customer of Halfords for decades I will never use the branches again. Deplorable Service

Mobile Fitter Refused to Correctly Install Stop-Start Battery I purchased a new Stop-Start battery for my Octavia from Halfords to be fitted by TyresOnTheDrive. The fitter who came was intent on fitting the battery as quickly as possible. He did not use a battery saver during the physical fitting of the battery to maintain the settings of the car's stability control system etc.. When the fitter had physically installed the battery, he asked me to start the car. This I did. The car reported errors with stability control system etc.. To be expected due to the battery disconnect. The fitter sat in the drivers seats and turned the steering full left, then full right lock (more on this later). This reset the stability control system etc.. That he left grease on the steering wheel and bits of the trim is probably knit-picking. I then asked him, are you now going to code the battery. He said, no, doesn't need doing, job is done. I asked him why? He didn't answer and seemed affronted that I had asked. He left. If a stop-start battery isn't coded (this requires connecting a PC or bespoke electronic device to the car's engine management computer and changing some values so that it knows that a new battery has been fitted) then the long-term life of the battery can be impacted and there is a possibility of alternator damage. I contacted TyresOnTheDrive by phone and explained the situation. They were very quick to say that they would return the fitting fee (after I had asked why they charged £10 more for fitting a stop-start battery if the routine fitting was just the same as for a standard battery). She contacted a manager who said that the left-lock, right-lock action (see third paragraph) had automatically coded the battery. This is fundamentally incorrect. It resets the stability control etc.. but cannot code the battery. In subsequent email backwards and forwards, TyresOnTheDrive stuck to their line that the left-lock, right lock had automatically coded the battery; I was welcome to take to the Skoda franchise for a second opinion. My request for an another fitter visit to complete the job and code the battery was met with a refusal as they said the car was running (this is not the issue). My final message to them so far was to asked whether their fitters are actually able to code stop-start batteries? I got no answer to this. So the upshot is that I am taking the car to a local garage tomorrow to have the battery coded. I thought that having TyresOnTheDrive fit a new battery would be convenient and time-saving. This has proved to be anything but the case. The experience with, and attitude of, their fitter was unpleasant and I have had to spend a considerable amount of time sorting out getting the job done properly. I should have checked reviews of the company before using them and had I have done so I would not have used them. I am not the only person this had happened to and from my communications with them they do not actually seem to understand what coding a stop-start battery entails. To sum up, please exercise caution and consider carefully whether you want TyresOnTheDrive to fit a stop-start battery to your car. UPDATE: 2/6/21 Took the car to a local specialist. The car would not accept the coding for the battery supplied from Halfords. The garage spoke to Skoda and determined that the battery was incorrect for the car. I arranged for them to supply and fit a new battery. I subsequently contacted TyresOnTheDrive and asked for a refund on the battery they had fitted and to come and pick it up after the garage had fitted and coded an appropriate battery. The pick up was booked for Wednesday 9th June. 5/6/21 Text message received saying that TyresOnTheDrive would be arriving on Sunday to pick up the battery. What? I checked the on-line tracking and found that, indeed the appointment had been changed to Sunday for whatever reason - certainly not at my request. 6/6/21 Another call to TyresOnTheDrive to have the battery pick on Sunday cancelled and moved back to Wednesday. Yet more hassle and time wasted.

Arranged appointment with Tyres on the Drive and paid via credit card. Received confirmation texts and email. On the day got phone call to say technician phoned in sick and there was nothing they could do and they wanted to rearrange. Told them no point as I needed the car for 12pm (had paid for an am appointment). Asked for refund. Will let you know how quickly I get the refund Not happy at all.

What a total rip off! Fitted two new tyres to my caravan because my previous tyres were five years old. Didn’t realise until after the guy left that the tyres he fitted were dated 2019 so being two years old. When I complained about this scam I was told to read the Halfords small print. They can fit tyres up to two years old because that’s their policy. Thank you Halfords I will no better in future.

Beware using this company. I arranged for a new battery to be fitted. The one they arrived with was not a Halfords battery as ordered so now the guarantee is with a subsidary company 'Tyres of the Drive' not Halfords so you cannot go into a Halfords shop if there is a problem or to replace. The new battery needs to be registered with the cars engine management system which they failed to do and now the car locking system does not work correctly with other faults likely to follow as the car thinks it has an old battery. I will never use again.
