“UroTuning as a company has been responding to my emails and inquiries. I purchased the open air intake air for my 2017 GTI as a simple bolt on upgrade for better air flow feeding the turbo, which for the most part assembles quite easily. The only issue I had is that there is no longer a hole punched into the heat shield even though I have a secondary air intake (SAI). I emailed their support and they said they no longer provide a hear shield with a hole so I was told to “just try and get the SAI into the box, cut a hole if you have to”. Well this was not possible so I tried to tuck the SAI filter into the intake box. I trust this we be adequate to maintain any performance gains.”

Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback. We want to clarify that while we sell this intake, we do not manufacture it. The heat shield design was refreshed by CTS to remove the SAI hole, as some models do not require secondary air injection (SAI). We have seen customers who choose to modify the heat shield if they prefer a dedicated spot for the SAI filter, but most opt to tuck or neatly route the filter outside the shield for a clean engine bay appearance, as you have done. “I have been extremely satisfied with Urotuning. I ordered the turbo inlet last year when I ordered the carbon fiber intake. The inlet was back ordered. I reached to Urotuning and they issued a refund the same day. I have ordered other items and awesome service. They are my go to for VW parts”

“I used their drop down menus to find out if this set up would work work my car. The drop down menus said yes. I got the parts and tried installing them and found that they wouldn't work with my car. I used extra parts to attempt to find a way to make them work and the car was running too lean and kept throwing codes. When i looked at the product info without using the drop down menus i could not find my car listed for the model year i own. There were changes between 2008 and 2009 and my guess is that these parts are made for 2009 on. Because the parts were briefly installed i can no longer return them. I'm out $300+(bought air box too) because i trusted their drop down menus to be accurate. Not happy.”
