Our meter burned out. We waited 4 days for a new one, we called several times a day. They were very rude. It's been 5 days without electricity and they are still delaying a bunch of clowns I do not recommend

That shouldn't even be a one star. My partner was dumped onto Utilita, after being abandoned by Toto Energy. We believe the meter is faulty (SMETS 1 Smart Meter). It is a long story which started in 2017. To cut a long story short she is paying on average £10 per day and 30% recovery, on top. There is a disputed debt of nearly £5000. The Ombudsman has sided with Utilita, obviously because they pay them a subscription, therefore, they will never impartial. Being in debt and having a faulty meter (which they will not replace), means she cannot go to another company. Who can she turn to? She is absolutely destitute, she has cancelled all her insurances. She cannot afford to live and as she cannot afford to die. You cannot go to OFGEM as they do not deal directly with customers.

Have had problems with this company from day one. I took over the tenancy of a property which was supplied by Utilita for both Gas and Electricity. I eventually managed to to talk to someone who changed the details on the account into my name and told me I would receive a welcome pack from them with all the details of the account. This never happened. I have continually telephoned to find out what was happening and eventually got the Account number from one of their representatives. I received a bill from them but had to phone again as when I went to pay this it was higher than expected but I paid it. Turned out it included a second month amount. Oh and this was only for Electricity. I asked when I would receive a Gas bill to be told they didn't supply me with gas. On checking the rep found the readings for both gas and electricity. Now they are investigating why this was not added on. Today I received a bill for November and luckily noticed the total is what I have already paid when I went on to pay the first bill. I can no longer access my account as it asks me to link it up to view payments etc. When I try to do this it tells me my details do not match up. This company is a disgrace and I have already moved away from them after being in the property a few months. New company have been fantastic with everything in place and account set up with no problem at all. Utilita may sound like they offer a good deal but with the problems they have caused for me, I would never go near them again.

crazy queus to tlak to skmekne, bought a house, topped up 2 times just moved yesterday bare in mind topped up 2 times £40 and £30 per time, and today says gas stopped as no more credit, wth? i just topped up.., got a 6month baby and house is cold nobody answering, lines to talk to someone huge, waiting to move away asap!!!

Misleading salesman I had a guy call at my house today and tell me he was here to read the electric meter. I asked about the gas and he said they were not reading those at the moment because of Christmas which I thought was strange. I stupidly let him look at my electric meter which is just behind the door and it became obvious he was not reading it. He then asked who my current supplier was and I said you should have that info on your tablet. He said he didn’t as he was only reading the meter. When I told him my supplier he then started to go into a sales pitch. I stopped him and said I just realised he is Utilita, a supplier. He said yes. I said you have entered my home under false pretences and lied to me. He said I’m not selling anything. I got his name and have reported to Utilita as I feel I was being misled. If I was a little less switched on, and believe me I already feel stupid allowing him to get that far, he could have totally ripped me off. Utilita have still not responded so I will go to the ombudsman and maybe watchdog. A dodgy way to sign up new customers Utilita and this needs stopping right away.

AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE! ROGUE TRADERS WHO WILL LIE AND TAKE YOUR MONEY EVEN WHEN YOU OWE THEM NOTHING! I TOOK MY CASE TO THE OMBUDSMAN AND WON! I SHOWED THEM TO HAVE FALSIFIED DOCUMENTS, MADE UP LIES, UNLAWFULLY TOOK MONIES FROM MY CREDIT WITHOUT EVEN INFORMING ME, EXAGERATED AND OVER INFLATED FIGURES WHICH I DID NOT OWE. IMPLIED FRAUD AND LIES WHICH I PROVED OTHERWISE. THEY NOW HAVE TO PAY ME ALL MY MONEY BACK, APOLOGISE AND COMPENSATE ME AND TO ANYONE WHO GIVES THEM A FIVE STAR RATING ON HERE WITH ENGLISH NAMED OPERATORS IS HAVING IT UP YOU. IN 5 YEARS I HAVE YET TO SPEAK WITH AN ENGLISH PERSON! UTILITA UNDERESTIMATED MY INTELLIGENCE AND NOW I WOULD BE HAPPY TO HELP ANYONE IN A SIMILAR SITUATION BECAUSE TRUST ME THEY WILL MAKE YOU OUT TO BE A CRIMINAL AND STOOP TO THE LOWEST IN ORDER TO WIN! I cannot believe that what this company is doing is legal. It feels like dealing with scammers. I’ve been in my new property for 3 months now and was charged £746 for electric alone. They explained that this is because the meter is wrong. After multiple complains and countless hours on the phone they replaced the meter and now the tarif is even higher. In fact, they claim that it’s me who still owes them. I went to the Ombudsman and created the case, but they have somehow managed to add evidence proving that everything is correct. I believe they are formally trained to evade direct questions and steal money. Customer service always randomly hang up the phone after 40mins on hold and live chat keeps getting closed before responding. When they do respond, they say they will raise a query but there is never a note about you ever having contacted them when you speak to the next person. Advisors claim they cannot access or send emails directed to them. Complaints team is very dismissive as well. I can’t stress enough how much stress I’ve been through due to them, avoid at all cost

Iv just phone utilita to get my meter changed and the person on the phone called John just put me on hold after 5 mins I put the phone down .DISGUSTED I WAS BEING CHARGED FOR THE CALL

Utilita are utterly dreadful to deal with, very difficult to contact them by phone or email. it takes a long time to get through, you get someone with an asian accent that is hard to understand and then they hang up on you. No other company in any other business could get away with it. Countless emails and phone calls and the problem still has not been sorted out. All energy firms customer services need a complete overhaul.

I am a vulnerable customer as I have long COVID and suffer anxiety. I am unable to speak to anyone at Utilita, and the problem is worsening. Utilita are not putting the £66 government help onto my account unless I contact them, I suspect that they are keeping hold of the cumulative "pot of government money" paid for by taxpayers, to accumulate interest, which is disgraceful and should be investigated by the energy Ombudsman.

Please stay away from this company thy must be the worst company i have ever had to deal with in 40yrs you will never get though to them on the phone it was 4 days before someone answered the phone its terrible also thy ate not paying out the government £67pm payments thy are also under investigation and just been fined 800k Please stay away or i promise you will regret it and also if you gas or electricity supply goes of your in big trouble thy never answer there phones bad bad bad company bunch of plums

Worse company. Never get through to them. I am disabled and I can not top up. I was left with no gas for three days. All they did was change the metre not even sorry. They put in prepaid meter and when I top up it does not show on the metre. Am left in the cold for the third time this year with no gas.

Worst company in the world, saying they're going to switch off my fathers supply due to him being in debt as they said he uses £326 electricity a month!!! He lives in a two bedroom house, and only watches the tv, he doesn't even have the heating on due to the prices they make up! My father can't work due to not being able to walk, has heart and lung disease. Which they clearly couldn't care less about as they send threatening letters and texts to a 60 year old man everyday! Can't get no help from online or through phone, all rude. That's if you can even get through. Having to get help from citizens advice due to the stress there are putting my father through, even Utilita have been told we are getting help, they still continuously threaten my father. I put a complaint in about this company over a year ago, and have heard nothing from the complaints department - wonder why. Never go with this company. Reviews on Google tell all.

The smart metre is completely pointless and useless. It doesn't read the gas at all and the electricity never shows the right balance. Complete waste of time. The app never matches the metre amount. Nobody ever EVER answers the phone. Overall a sh*t company.

This energy company is a joke .They do not help there loyal customers when needed.The cost of Gas and Electricity is just ridiculous and they cant say its because things have gone up in price its there doing on there prices.I have put a complaint to them since june 2022 and up yo today they have still not contacted me or dealt with my issues as same issues are still happening. I have been with Utilia for 9 years and they were ok in the beginning but now they are atrocious and i think they need to be investigated by the correct regulation team. They just do not have any care or consideration for there customers they just leave them stressed, worried and frustrated well that's my personal opinion on this horrible company.

It is now 15th December and I have had no payments of energy support for November & December after almost a dozen calls I have had nothing but excuses this has made me very angry 😠 and My wife and I are getting fed up. I intend to take this to ombudsman as we believe we are being conned out of our payment's and Furthermore I will be leaving this company in the new year and going to someone more reliable.
