Customer service is shocking bad. Nobody at all on them phones know what they are doing at all. I’ve had to call them 7 times to speak to a supervisor then the phone just went dead. Please don’t bother

Utilita threatening to take my debt to collection agencies and take legal action to recover it, although this debt is entirely their fault. The amount of debt is being disputed, the complaint had been escalated to the Ombudsman yet they keep sending letters about it which contain threatening and intimidatory wording. This company must be put into special administration immediately, the amount of failings throughout my brief time with them makes Utilita the worst company I have had to deal with in the UK in the past 10 years. Do not recommend it even as a last resort

Took me a long while to find who provided the energy after buying flat, otherwise would have swapped provider straight away. Then many hours on phone, being cut off, being on hold, and emails sorting out proof of ownership...partly ignored emails with readings but managed to set me up on app with estimates ( also they apparently can't read your previous emails when you phone unless you send it there and then) and their ridiculous demands for money. They "calculated" I owed them over £940 (2 months empty/just renovating it, 2 months living there). Guy on phone said we can read the metre remotely, not true. We worked out all the units etc and contested and bill was just £140. They gave me £20 'goodwill gesture' on complaining. They say no standing charge but rate is high for first units each month. Not good if you're a low user. Glad to see the back of them with their lies and terrible customer service and app is not user friendly compared to Octopus which is so simple.

I would greatly appreciate it if I had the option to give a score of zero or below. As the landlord, I wanted to split the bill with my tenant. The estate agent sent them the contract, but Utilita refused to accept it. Despite having landlord licensing and OVO accepting the contract, Utilita rejected it. We provided them with all the rental payment invoices, but they still declined. I spent three hours on the phone with them yesterday. Today, I have spoke with a representative at tel: 01962891164. The representative stated that they only deal with me and don't care if I have a management estate agent or a tenant. This has become a problem for me. I explained that this is a buy-to-let property, so there is an estate agent assisting me. To my dismay, the estate agent is now advising me to seek legal assistance in resolving the issue of splitting bills with Utilita. Their service has been extremely poor. What an easy task but they cant do it. DO NOT USE this company - this is my advise.

I cannot believe that what this company is doing is legal. It feels like dealing with scammers. I’ve been in my new property for 3 months now and was charged £746 for electric alone. They explained that this is because the meter is wrong. After multiple complains and countless hours on the phone they replaced the meter and now the tarif is even higher. In fact, they claim that it’s me who still owes them. I went to the Ombudsman and created the case, but they have somehow managed to add evidence proving that everything is correct. I believe they are formally trained to evade direct questions and steal money. Customer service always randomly hang up the phone after 40mins on hold and live chat keeps getting closed before responding. When they do respond, they say they will raise a query but there is never a note about you ever having contacted them when you speak to the next person. Advisors claim they cannot access or send emails directed to them. Complaints team is very dismissive as well. I can’t stress enough how much stress I’ve been through due to them, avoid at all cost

Iv just phone utilita to get my meter changed and the person on the phone called John just put me on hold after 5 mins I put the phone down .DISGUSTED I WAS BEING CHARGED FOR THE CALL

It's taken 2 weeks and many regular phone calls with Utilita to determine that an engineer needs to be sent to fix my meter. Moreover, the electricity was randomly shut off on the day I moved into the property 2 weeks ago. It has taken about 3 hours of being on the phone with Utilita to turn the electricity back on. Later, when I was on a live chat with someone from Utilita, they randomly left.

STAY AWAY FROM THESE BUNCH OF USELESS INCOMPETENT BUNCH OF IDIOTS. I had a smart meter install on the 11 may the engineer changed my gas meter went to pick up the key from my housing office which was ready for him to pick up and only a 3 minute walk away. He never came back and didn’t even have the decency to call. I waited a week and Utilitarian had not contacted me to say they were sorry. I tried to top up with the card that was left and it didn’t work. Called utilitarian and explained everything that had happened and they told me that the useless lying idiot couldn’t get access to my property if that’s the case then how did I get a new gas meter. They sent me a new card which was for the old meter. After hours on the phone these passed 2 days explaining myself over and over they said they would send out an technician to top up my meter. When he arrived and looked at the meter he said it’s in dumb mode and it won’t turn off and I can’t top up until the electric meter is installed so I am now going to be in debt. How many times can they get it so wrong. Avoid this company don’t be tempted you will regret it believe me.

My best mate is going through hell with this cowboy energy supplier, stay clear from them or change supplier at all cost! When my mate moved into a property which her electricity is supplied by this lot. She was unaware of the endless hassles they've been putting her through. They're only interested in taking her money without providing actual bills, keep sending her threatening text messages ... Just wish someone can do something to take down and remove this greedy firm from the market for the sake of these helpless consumers like my dear friend

Made a complaint again regarding my GAS meter not receiving an update signal after paying via the app. I then have to manually input a 16 digit code using buttons 5 microns in size. I get no reply and strangely my Electric meter now needs to be manually keyed in. Never requested these smart meters and they're dreadful, just like Utilita. Avoid at all costs!

The worst company ever. I have a 1 year old and they keep disconnecting my top up even when I've topped up, absolute rip off, money grabbing div's, they never answer the phone they just put the phone down and if you eventually do get through it's always someone extremely ill mannered! Would highly not recommend!

Everything was working OK in my new home for 9 months, until my gas metre stopped sending its balance signal. 3 weeks on its still like this. I've phoned, emailed, tried utilita s own links.... left my phone number in emails...... NOBODY GOT BACK TO ME AFTER 4 WEEKS OF TRYING NOW AND MY PROBLEM IS STILL ONGOING. IVE MADE 9 ATTEMPTS TO NO AVAIL. THIS IS EXTREMELY POOR AND A NEGLECTING CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT IS NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE.

Utilita are utterly dreadful to deal with, very difficult to contact them by phone or email. it takes a long time to get through, you get someone with an asian accent that is hard to understand and then they hang up on you. No other company in any other business could get away with it. Countless emails and phone calls and the problem still has not been sorted out. All energy firms customer services need a complete overhaul.

sorry to say but i have had all the same problems that a lot have had, they are dam right rude and do not care about your circumstances, they also rip you off with the tariff, we have disability problems and should have been placed on economy 7, we were told we are already on the lowest tariff, 8 years down the line its not the case, nor do i like talking to someone who i cant understand, its like phoning a SCAM centre in mumbai, in the words of anne widdecombe, were OFF.
