I brought four fruit trees three year ago not had any fruit up to date.Two weeks ago I ordered two magnolia miniature trees just had a letter telling me cannot deliver till Feb 2016 when you try to phone it cost me five pound just to get a answer utily disgusting business should be shut down Brian shaw coventry 1/10

shockingly bad customer service-plants in very poor state when received & when you complain all you get is an automated email response saying they are busy.i shop extensively online (including live plant purchases from other companies) 7 this company is by far the worst i have ever had the misfortune to deal with & i see frm other reviews i am certainly not alone.

We have used Van Meuwen in the past with no problem. This time, bare root roses were delivered by post four days after posting and arrived in a dreadful state - some may survive, others won't. The date stamp specifically said it was a 2 day delivery but it took 4. I emailed on two occasions and got a pro forma reply, I rang twice and hung on for 20 minutes but no response. The fault probably lies with their carrier but Van Meuwen, who contracted them, is obviously taking no responsibility. We shall be taking this further, We will not be using them again and have warned others of the risk they take.

FIRST and LAST time user. One plant arrived covered in black spot. one collection arrived very shrivelled due to their 'seedling' size ! numerous emails from me…one acknowledgement initially of email…no further contact from them..they have my money…I have their inferior products…should have read reviews first !! BEWARE !

Sent completely wrong plant (white rhodadendhron rather than a dwarf orange azalea), emailed 'customer care' (hah!), got a standard 'we are extremely busy at the moment, you do not need to send your email again' reply fairly quickly, and now nothing. Emailed a follow-up requesting a refund, have even offered them their "wrong plant" back. No joy. I'm not calling any premium rate number from my mobile, the plants, whilst expensive for what I got, aren't worth the very expensive phone call. Would not use again, and will recommend family and friends not to use them, in case they experience the same issues. Next step, letter to CEO, and to trading standards.

Ordered plants. Chq cashed in march . End may....still waiting for plants. Customer service never answer phone. Poor service. Dont bother its not worth the hassle. Go to local garden centre.

from van meuwen purchased a packet of seeds tomato Gigantomo £3.99 six seeds in a packet there was 9 seeds planted per in instructions been gardening now for 46 years there was no germination from any of the seeds I wrote them a letter there was no reply there email system they use is obsolete no one use that system any more telephone 2 times waited 30 minutes each time gave up Gigantomo is new tomato van meuwen brand I would like to know if any body has purchased these seeds and had the same results there is no way you can get in touch with there customer services if they want to use an email service they should use the normal type

I ordered fuschias and geraniums in March and paid for them. I rang up to see when they would be delivered to be told they had been sent. When I asked when no one could tell me. I needed to know as I was going away and needed to make alternative arrangements. In the end a very rude man who was the trainer!!!!!!! Said I am going to cancel the fuschias and refund you. No discussion that was it. Two days later I got an E Mail saying sorry there is a delay in sending out the geraniums!!!!! This is strange the other man said they had been sent. To date I have not received a refund either. I have had problems with this company in the past but was prepared to give them another chance. Never again.

Ordered a groupon for two hydrangeas (£9.99) - I thought "that's a decent saving" as they retail at £13 each normally. After fretting about where the delivery driver would put them etc, I needn't have bothered. They arrived in a small cardboard box and with their roots wrapped in a plastic bag. They are plug plants, I will need to grow them myself, nowhere did it state this. Honestly they worst thing I've ever bought online. I doubt they will survive but I will let you know in 4 years time when they flower for the first time. Shocking company.

POOR QUILITY PLANTS DELIVERED DEAD, CUSTOMER SERVICES NOT INTERESTED, DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY,THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY AND THEN IGNORE ANY COMPLAINTS, BE WARNED!!!

My problem has arisen in trying to get resolution to an order that was of poor quality. Quite simply I am unable to speak to the company to resolve the issue; I have now e-mailed 6 times and rung twice (unable to get through whilst simultaneously paying for the privilege of listening to a recorded message trying to sell me more plants. I agree with the previous post; appears to be bordering on a scam and at the very least exceptionally poor customer service.

EXCEPTIONALLY POOR SERVICE, BORDERING ON SCAM. In March, I saw an add in the newspapers, an offer for a mixed plants purchase. It clearly said delivery in May - so I sent off my cheque. It is now mid May, subsequent 2 emails informed me that delivery is expected in late June. I have tried to cancel the order but my emails are not answered and when you phone customer service - you just wait in the queue for eternity (7p per minute + your own connection charges), so I have not been able to speak with anyone and even possibly swap the order for something that could be delivered now. I strongly advise against using this company, especially having now also read poor reviews of their products. I will also be writing to the newspapers about my experience - I know they survive from advertising, but I'm sure they can find a more reputable company to promote.

one of the worst companies i have ever in 40 years had dealings with, my order from march still not delivered, had numerous texts from customers complaints dept but still no success, and tried phoning them but they do not talk to customers about complaints,,

i ordered the fuchsia collection and they arrived today,what a mess,out of ten plants three .of them looked [with a lot of tlc] like they might survive.i got on the phone to complain to customer care and after 35mins of nobody answering gave it up as a bad job. i carnt get in touch with anybody on computer or phone to sort this out

Okay you have read all the poor reviews, now for something different. What a joy it was to deal with this Company, purchased a Dianthus & Diascia collection from them to replaced older plants purchased some years ago from same Company, which has proved to be a really good buy, producing lots of flowers with a wonderful fragrance. The Dianthus arrived early April & was planted out and have taken well, shortly after the Diascia arrived & after potting on began to look sickly, after a chat with a charming Lady from Customer Service the failing plants were replace without quibble, she prove to me that their customer service was not as portrayed in the many review here and elsewhere. I would purchase plants again from them without any question.

I have nothing but praise for this Company, my first purchase this year was for another collection of Fragrant Dianthus to replace ageing plants purchased some years ago from them, these proved to be excellent (as before) and have taken really well after planting out the plugs. I fully expect great results as they are looking wonderful alongside the older collections. With these I also ordered a collection of Diascia which although arrived in quite early April partly failed after planting on & most looked poorly. Having spoken to a very polite Lady on the phone & explained the problem I was assured that they would be replaced this was completed this week a new plants look good. Now this not only confirms our delight in our purchase, but better still gives the Customer Service Department of Van Meawen top marks for dealing with their customers when things went wrong, a lovely change in a world that often forgets us in times like this.

Do not buy from this company - chaotic delivery service, plants arrive dried out, they do not reply to emails seeking their advice. Worst company I've ever dealt with on line.

DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO WASTE YOUR MONEY, THE PLANTS ARRIVE IN POOR CONDITION AND MANY DIE, THEY DO NOT ANSWER EMAILS WHEN SENDING IN COMPLAINTS, THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH, DISGUSTING!!!!
