LEARN FROM THE AWFUL EXPERIENCE I HAVE HAD WITH THIS COMPANY AND THEIR DELIVERY SERVICE AND LOOK FOR AN ALTERNATIVE SUPPLIER, PARTICULARLY IF YOU PAY IN CASH. I will detail the reasons below. I ordered a three door, 2 drawer mirrored wardrobe on 4th July. I opened an account and paid cash. It was meant to be delivered in three sections with an assembly section. As scheduled on 19th July the driver arrived and was in a hurry as he was late. He delivered one section, I said there should be three sections, but he said no that was everything. There was no time to check the goods as he was out the door before I could turn around. I asked about a signature and he just said. No. That was the extent of his vocabulary. There are no contact details for PANTHER DELIVERY SERVICES despite multiple text messages. I received a text saying they had not been able to deliver my goods as it had not been received in the depot, please email. I emailed 11 days ago, received a reply about 6 days ago asking me about the order, I REPLIED AND HAVE NOT HAD ANY RESPONSE. As there was only one section, I phoned customer Very Customer Services which are located in Johannesburg, South Africa. Their representative said that they would check it out with the supplier and phone me back in two hours. I waited and now over the last 12 days I have made 6 PHONE CALLS TO CUSTOMER SERVICES at VERY.co.uk and 2 phones to CUSTOMER SERVICES SHOP DIRECT (which are also in Johannesburg) trying to resolve this issue. All I wanted was the rest of the order delivered. I had paid for it. Customer Services are polite, working from a script and I have found out that when they tell you they will contact you by email or phone that they are not allowed to do this. I have wasted over 8 HOURS ON THE PHONE speaking to 8 different customer service representatives from VERY.Co.UK AND 2 FROM SHOP DIRECT just asking them to COMPLETE THE ORDER. I have been taken around and around in endless circles. When they say they will contact you they don't do this. No action is taken although they say they are dealing with it. The only solution it seems as I paid with a cash account is either a) for me to REBUY the product again and they return my original payment which will take up to 14 days. SO I PAY TWICE FOR A PRODUCT I HAVE NOT RECEIVED with no guarantee that I will receive it. OR B) To cancel the order, arrange for the section of the wardrobe to be returned and they refund the money over the next 14 days. I have chosen second option. However, they cannot confirm by email if and when this money has been refunded. I must keep checking my account to make sure it has been done. IF THERE IS A PROBLEM AFTER 14 DAYS WITH THE REFUND I MUST CONTACT CUSTOMER SERVICES. THIS IS A TERRIBLE SERVICE AND UNACCEPTABLE TREATMENT OF CUSTOMERS FROM A MAJOR SUPPLIER. I wrote to the COMPLAINTS DEPARTMENT four days ago and although they say they respond in 24 hours, I have yet to receive a reply. I AM A VERY DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER and I feel sure this service fails to meet Trading Standards. M. Usher-Patel

Within days of receving my washing machine from Very it had a error code on it. I contacted Very to exchange the appliance but they insisted I had to re order and this going to cost me a further £107 more. After numerous telephone calls to their very incompetent customer services I decided to just have the faulty machine collected. This proved to be a nightmare and after many costly telephone calls to Very they finally collected the faulty appliance after 6 week. It was extremely inconvenience and difficult trying to store a very large bulky appliance in my home whilst waiting for it to be collected. I would strongly recommend that people avoid this company

Very (Shop Direct) took a direct debit payment that put my very account in credit because 'they say' their system did not recognise that I had paid off what I owed and my account was clear, and that it would take 10 days to be re-credited, not a happy chappie, would not recommend then, very POOR customer service, difficult to understand their call centre operators, seems like the are in a different country

Bought a Hoover a few months ago which has broken. Customer services says they can't access account as it's been closed but bad says they should have it on file for at least 2 years. Customer services are diabolical. Had phone put down on me twice as they couldn't help.

Supplied damaged goods. Picked up goods but have never processed the refund. Having to go to the credit card company to get money back.

Ordered two TVs. One was delivered with broken screen. Numerous phone calls and still have not replaced the damaged TV or refunded the money. They have had our money for over six weeks.

I ordered a car seat which was due for delivery in two weeks. After two weeks had passed with no sign of the order I contacted Very. They said to ring back in 48 hrs for an update. Called back but still no sign of the order. They could not tell me how long it would take as they had no contact with the supplier of the set. I couldn't understand how they could sell something they don't have and have no way of finding out where it is.

I have shopped with Very for the last couple of years or so. I have always found it really convenient, particularly with the Buy Now Pay Later & the free Collect+ service. I have spent hundreds of pounds with them and intended to continue to do so until last night when an item went AWOL & the service I received was beyond belief! The gentleman I spoke to told me he couldn't help me until tomorrow, said that the Collect+ location was closed so couldn't call (they weren't), told me he can't do anything because "people make stuff up" so he had to check and said it will probably be delivered "tomorrow or something". After almost an hour I gave up and had to wait until this morning to attempt to resolve the situation (which is still ongoing). He told me he was the best person to speak to, he was the one to help me - yet he was doing nothing to help me! He told me there were no senior members of staff I could speak with, only him and his colleagues. No team leader, supervisor or manager as "they don't work that late". He also told me that he and his colleague had no access to email when I asked him to confirm in writing that he can credit my account. Needless to say, nothing was credited and I was back on both the phone and live chat this morning. These guys are not only rude, they're incompetent. I refuse to EVER shop with you again....I hope you go into administration! & looking at other comments on here/social media, it's a possibility with all the negative reviews! Thank god!

Not enough space for me to go through the list of phone calls, emails, non returned calls regarding my faulty tv. Even trying to return was a nightmare!!! Do not deal with, support centre is someone walking round a building g site with a laptop in Africa!!!

Don't get me wrong the set up in terms of pricing, sales, returns and even deliveries (for the most part) is very good and actually shopping is very easy and straight forward. HOWEVER hit an issue or require simple answers that aren't available in the FAQs/Help section then you might aswell suffer with what ever issue you are having. Terrible terrible customer service, should never have gone non-UK based. Sometimes have to call 3/4 times just because you get cut off when agents don't know they have answered or don't like the sound of your query. When you don't get cut off questions or explanations are required to be said over and over again. Call backs are never adhered too, if a connection is lost you never get a call back out of courtesy, YOU have to call them back and sit on hold all over again. Just very very poor basic customer service. I dread having to call them, I have to make sure I'm comfortable and prepared for an emotional rollercoaster every time!!

Very started well especially when the customer service was based in UK. I have been with Very for about 5 or 6 years now and my experience with the South African customer advisors is nothing to write home about I can see Very going into administration very very soon . I will NEVER buy from them until then . Stay away too

i bought a hp laptop that included 12 mths free macafee. two months after purchase i had an e mail from macafee telling me my subscription had expired & asking me to pay for a renewal. i phoned very, after explaining to the very agent she gave me another number to call. i called this number, turned out to be hp support? the lady on there also gave me another number to call, that happened to be macafee. i told her it was not for me to ring around as it is the retailer (very) who sold me the item & up to them to sort this out. i phoned very again, explained the situation to their agent, he asked me to hold then transferred me to hp again?? i chose to buy this particular laptop, not just for the price but because it included the 12 mths free macafee that came with it.

Ordered an "in stock" 3-seater sofa on 6 June, spent a month waiting for it to be delivered and it never turned up. It's now out of stock until September, according to the website - nobody from Very has ever bothered to advise me of this directly or apologise for the inconvenience and botched delivery process so far (2 failed attempts at delivery it from the third party courier, as they phoned to tell me on the day that Very had failed to give them anything to deliver on both occasions). After hounding customer services every day for the past week to cancel and refund the order, I have had to escalate this to my bank to get the money back, as each Very representative consistently lied to me saying "the person you spoke to previously didn't cancel the order, but I've cancelled it for you now." My online account still says 'order dispatched' while the tracking info says 'order cancelled by customer'. Truly unbelievable and dreadful experience. I've complained to Very directly but have had no response on that either. I can only hope that sharing my story will help others to avoid the same weeks on continual hassle. To add insult to injury, I received an email from Very this morning titled 'Have your say' urging me to review my recent purchase and share my shopping experience. A joke of a company that really does not seem to have any concern for its customers or their feedback, so the only way to stop this is to boycott them and encourage as many people as possible to stop reliving experiences like this over and over. Buyer, beware.

Does not even deserve one star! Was on hold for about an hour as very cocked up our order and tried to get us to pay out more for there mistake! Customer service hardly speak English And had an attitude problem and changed her story about 100 times! will not be ordering from very again and will be advising people to cancel there account

Archaic, innefective, untimely inefficient customer services. Takes fatmr too long to receive a reply to your online customer services form. Thought premium customer services numbers were confined to the last century.....abviously not. It's taken two months but I've finally managed to have my account closed.....good riddance.

TERRIBLE customer service provided from start to finish. I have been trying to close my account down with this company - now on week 4 and having no luck! This is apparently down to the fact they owe me £4.20,,,,, and it takes them up to 8 week's to get payment to me!!!!! I would highly recommend that you avoid this company!!!!

Where do I start with Very, it started when we were looking to purchase a new sofa, found a brilliant deal on very ordered on the 18th April delivery date given was before the 29th which we thought was perfect so come the 29th nothing no contact from very or the delivery company arrow xl after calling arrow xl they advise that they had a fire in one of there warehouses, and that they informed very to contact and customers and let the, know that there would be delays but nothing off very. We finally go a delivery date of the 6th may confirmed text the day before with a time slot, so we got rid of our old sofas (which proved to be a massive mistake) On the 6th may after booking time off work to wait in for our delivery nothing arrived or no contact from very or arrow xl, I then had to do all the calling round after finally get through to arrow xl they informed me that they couldn't find our sofas in the loading bay now this continued on 2 further occasions 15th May and then the 8th June and the same issue again arrow could not find our sofas in the loading area, at this point we contact Very to complain they did not seem bothered that we had been without anything to sit on since the 6th may, they did advise that they would cancel this order and re-order the same sofas but the price had gone up over £400 more they advise not to worry and once the order had gone through that would discount the diffrence, sofas finally arrived but now we have contact Very 4 times each call lasting over 40 minutes and still not had the diffrence back! I would recommend no one to use this absolute joke of a company customer services are a complete waste of time and very difficult to understand! DO NOT USE VERY !!!!!!!!

Loads of hidden chargers . They robbers.. When I buy now pay 3 months interest free. It's a load of crap my bill is massive. £25 interest. Rang loads and I never get rang back .. stAy away
