I got a marketing letter from Very.co.uk. I have never provided my details to them. At the bottom of the letter there is a number to call if you don't want to receive further communications. I called that number. The "gentleman" said they didn't have any of my details... he then hang up the phone on me. I called back - after going through 25 options confirming that I do not want to make a payment to Very.co.uk - I got through a person, and this time a took his name, he is called Ali (I have the suspicion that it was the same person as before). I tried to explain the situation to him but when he asked for my address and then wanted me to spell out my name so he can open an account for me I lost it and asked to speak to his manager. Why would I want to open an account when I'm calling to get my details (THAT I NEVER PROVIDED!!!) removed from your system??? Anyway, he puts me on mute for 5 minutes instead of transferring me. I know this as there was no hold music, so I know he was still on the line. When I started talking to him he did actually put me on hold and the hold music started... for another 5 minutes. Eventually, after being on actual hold for another 10 minutes, I gave up as it seems Ali was just messing around with me. Terrible company, appalling customer service at their call centre. I would never order anything from these people. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!

Ordered a garden set and had a confirmed delivery date of bank holiday Monday!!! 8:45-10:45am half way through my 2hr delivery slot I get a phone call from the company due to deliver saying they only received the order @ 11pm last night therefore it has not been able to be quality controlled and could not deliver until next week now!!! I had the day off work to take delivery I could of got double pay, I had to cancel my birthday BBQ that had been booked for ages it wasn't only embarrassing it was sickening! Absolutely not one apology from the catalogue or delivery company!!! I am fuming I will never spend another penny with very!!

after clearing my dues and closing my account, the rep who helped me close my account forgot to cancel the direct debit on my account. so i at the end of the month my DD wa charged. when i contacted very to return my money back they were unhelpful and said they cannot do anything and that i should contact my bank.

wow, where to start, by far the worst online company I have ever purchased from. Cancelled my order without informing me after taking the money from my bank because they declined me an account which I did not ask for, did not want and did not need. Why did I have to open an account when I paid cash (debit card, money was taken straight from my account). Oh and the reason the account was declined was because I tried to purchase the tv earlier in the day and their website crashed halfway through the order and I was then apparently flagged as unreliable..... Seriously!! if something is available anywhere else then use whichever company but avoid these bunch of clowns (thats actually not fair on clowns) and buy from someone else.

Why can't I leave less than 1 star. This company is a seriously terrible joke. Tried to buy a TV, had to open an account (even though I was paying via a debit card with cash ready in the bank) which was incorrectly declined (they apparently used my wrong date of birth) nobody bothered to inform me even though delivery date had been confirmed, a days holiday had been booked to enable delivery and money was taken from my account. I asked for a manager to call me back to explain and to assure me no credit rating would be affected...... guess what, no call. Currently chasing my bank to reclaim my money. Words cannot explain how terrible this company actually is, be warned avoid at all costs, this is just a small description of the total mess they have made of a very simple process.

Ordered a bedside table and it arrived broken. 5 separate occasions we have phoned to get it replaced. They came and picked up the broken furniture and we are now out of pocket and missing furniture we paid for as they are not in any rush to replace it. Every member of staff we have spoken to have been rude and unhelpful. Outrageous customer service. We have been told there are no managers to speak to and despite them assuring us we would receive a new bedside table on the 26th it never came. Again phoning to question why and we were again pushed aside and spoken to in a rude manor. Disgusted with the service and appalled that such a big company are unwilling to refund or assist for their mistakes. Do not shop here.

The worst company I've ever dealt with! I created an account on their website about a month ago. I've passed all my credit checks etc. A couple of weeks later I ordered a pair of sunglasses. They were due to be delivered on Saturday. On Saturday morning I received a phone call and was asked for my passport number. I was then told that my passport number was not valid! I go on holiday at least twice a year and I've never had any problems with my passport. I assume my passport was rejected because it's Lithuanian! I have never had such a bad and racist experience. A couple of weeks later I tried to place an order and pay in full, however my order was rejected!!! I entered my card details etc.,but was unable to complete payment. Thank you for your 'excellent' customer service. You have today lost a customer who was willing to spend £180! I assume it's not a lot of money for such a big company but if you keep treating your customers like this you will lose more!

Absolutely unreliable. I ordered a barbeque, which their courier dropped off outside my empty house and still reported it as being signed as received. The pieces were faulty and damaged. I called them and got told that they could not replace them but I had to return the whole item. Contacting them is a nightmare. They do not appear to leave notes and you have to retell the whole story every time you call. The courier they use left me waiting twice (one of them all day) at home and did not turn up or provide info. I then had to call Very again and they had no information on the status. I filled an online complaint through their site and submitted it twice only to get an error message an everything deleted. A real true nightmare. Never again will dream of buying anything from them.

Very have terrible customer service, I once ordered a microwave which was delivered to the wrong address 3 times and was on the phone for a total of over 10 hours in one week on hold and trying to speak to a manager who was based in South Africa. Their staff email addresses are personal email addressed which they promise to get back to you on but don't and they have hung up on me numerous times when they clearly could not be bothered to deal with the issue. Second recent issue was I made a payment 7 days before it was due and they emailed to confirm payment. They then emailed 5 days after the payment was due to say I have not paid and when calling up, they explained that they did not take the payment and do not know why, but I have now been put down as a late payer with nothing more than an apology still with the possibility of having to dispute any charges that may now be added. Please listen to these reviews, do not shop at Very every aspect of them is awful. They are still trading due to the company size and the fact they do credit, it won’t be long though people will learn and stop shopping with you. VERY NEED TAKING OFFLINE.

I ordered an ornament for a birthday present, it took the order but didn't ask me to pay - put it on credit instead (I didn't ask for this, nor did it give me an option). so I tried to cancel the order, which didn't work, so instead I paid the credit. Then I got two emails - one to say they'd taken my money, the other to say that my order was now cancelled! So they took my money, but wasn't going to send me a product. Could have been £27 id lost, but fortunately (on the plus side) customer services were helpful.

I really would prefer to give just one star, they are an awful dreadful poor worthless company. Shop with another catalouge and take these reviews as a lesson VERY ARE POOR AT EVERYTHING. I HAVE LOST NEARLY £200

I had a Voucher for £40 from Weight Watchers, which I used to purchase some sandals, when they arrived one pair was too big, another broken, so faulty, I then returned them. I phoned the number supplied by W.W to get the credit applied to a suitcase I brought, which on taking the order, over the phone, the lady said she would do. This has never been done. I have lost the voucher and Very will not honour it! THIS EMAIL FROM VERY....Thank you for your email. According to the terms and conditions of the code it states that it is a single use voucher and you can only claim it once. Therefore we are unable to apply this voucher to your order again. THIS ON THE LETTER FROM W.W....The credit will be reversed if the order is returned and the value falls below the £40 minimum. In this instance, please ring 0344 822 2321 and the £40 credit will be reapplied if you place an additional order of £40 or more. So Very have kept my £40 voucher and I have nothing. It is almost impossible to get in touch with Very and none of the link's are for any type of complaint other than returns or deliveries???? I hope the above number will be useful to someone! take my advice and steer well clear if you value your money!!

Catalogue of errors from start to finish. Left on hold for an eternity then language barrier when eventually get through. On line chat not much better, cancelled wrong item and still waiting for refund update on an item I returned a week ago. Useless. Spend your money elsewhere.

I ordered 2 chairs from VERY on 26th April and on 3rd May I received an email from Lydia Hudson (VERY Customer Manager) who informed me in writing that my 2 chairs were 'on track' and would be delivered on or before 11th May 2017. Additionally the email stated 'don't worry, if there are any changes we'll let you know straight away'. Needless to say the 2 chairs DID NOT arrive on 11th May as promised and there was no warning of any problems or delays. After trying to chase up VERY over 11th and 12th May for an explanation (about 3 hours on the telephone), I was eventually put through to their Customer Services Department (in South Africa) and informed that the chairs were out of stock (in stock when I ordered them) and that my order was now cancelled (by VERY) and if I still wanted them, I would have to start the whole process again. You really couldn't make it up and will anyone reading this will not be surprised to hear that VERY are now VERY VERY low on my potential suppliers list. Ordered two items. One item was returned by Very, but I wasn't informed and another item apparently there was a fire in a warehouse so that wouldn't be delivered. No one from Very contacted me to let me know. I had contacted Very and their courier on numerous occasions to be told different stories every time. If you ask for a manager apparently they are in the meeting or they are no managers on their floor. When you ask for the complaints department you are giving an email address request information. This is becoming a nightmare.
