What went wrong? Should read what went right! Quoted for broadband/landline/phone package. Direct debit charges were wrong, Vodafone informed, charges still wrong. (too low) Phoned customer service and told the charges are still wrong and will in fact be HIGHER than originally quoted....so much for contracts. Some shop staff have undergone personality bypass, others don't want to be there. Broadband service is intermittent, best described as slow to abysmal with fantasy speeds of 75mb mentioned.

Very bad customer service. Since I got this contract with Vodafone everything is just going bad and really don't want to pay this company anymore. I wonder how they still haven't gone bust!

Take it from me - 20 year customer, they used to be OK, last few years customer service is like a bad groundhog day joke. They will pass you on to someone else / say they'll call back until you give up, having wasted hours meanwhile. Much better providers and tariffs on the market - DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND GO ELSEWHERE!!!

Been with Vodafone for 16yrs but now they have gone really bad and I mean bad.. it's gone from trying to keep you with them to "I need the commission" I will not be going back to them. You only get the same deal as if you were a new customer. Never again!!!!!

They are useless. I have different people in the company telling me different information about different things and no-one seems to know what's going on. I've been with Vodafone for about 8 years now and I've had problems almost constantly with their support anytime I've ever used it, and this includes in-store, on the phone and their Live Chat system (which is probably the worst of the lot). My dad and I are on the same account because when we set it up when I was 16, and they are refusing to separate the account unless we both go into a store together which is quite difficult as we now live in different cities. I'm 23, and they still won't talk to me once I was say my name and they realise I'm not the account owner, despite my Dad and I ringing them multiple times to explain we want it separated and despite me paying entirely for my phone. Considering the duel-account is a service Vodafone offer, I find it amazing that none of their staff have any understanding of how it works and as soon as they realise there are two phone numbers on the account act like the information they're reading on the screen may as well be in Chinese. Most recently, the guy I spoke to in-store was fairly helpful, but acted like he couldn't wait to get me out the store, telling me I had to ring up. And then the man I spoke to on the phone was one of the least helpful people I've ever spoken to, putting me on hold for 15 minutes just to come back and say there's nothing he can do (despite the man in the shop saying there is). In conclusion: avoid at all costs.

I have had this opportunity to speak to this gentleman who is currently in South Africa (Cape Town), his name is Anthony Ford, this guy has been an absolute life saver to assist me with few problems that I have had recently, since the problem was not looking to get resolved within a day, he actually called me back the following day as he promised to resolve my query, I strongly recommend every network to actually consider taking someone as Anthony to be hired in their team in order to have satisfied customers!

Customer bad service dept is worse than bad. In October I thought my account had been hacked, complained about additional charges for extra long texts ( texts were 10 words and 5 word). Every month I have complained about extra charges. Charged for using emoji ??? I have never used these in my life! All excess charges were refunded but only because I am a low phone user and noticed them and questioned them. I suspect many customers do not notice a few additional charges each month. 191 service and chat line service useless. Constantly hanging up on me. Not phoning back as promised. I have elected to write to them and charge £25 for each letter. 10 letters so far, no meaningful response. Next step the small claims court. Frank

Oh dear ,where do I start. Changed from talktalk as I was with vodaphone mobile and decided to have a one collective account. Firstly they lost my phone number from talktalk, I was told to have a word with talktalk about recovering my number, one can only imagine what talktalk said to me. I was told at ordering that I would get evening and weekend calls with my plan, this was not the case ,however they did offer me compensation. Regarding my phone I was on pay monthly and when my contract ended I was offered a sim only account if I was happy with the phone which at the time I was, however since then the battery is failing affecting the camera. I was told when offered sim only that I could upgrade my phone at any time, not the case, they claim I am tied into a sim only contract and would have to pay or wait to upgrade. I should never have moved to vodaphone and cant wait to leave them.

Got cut off several times by customer services, was told I was lying about the texts I received from Vodafone. Yet I have proof of my top up with my 'freebies'. Yet they said no messages were shown on there system, so much for being a technical company. Will never recommend or be with Vodafone.

Signed up for a pay monthly sim. Unlimited texts and calls. 2 GB of data. The guys in the store told me it is one GB of data but they would change it to 2 . But 2 weeks later I get a message from vodafine saying that I only have 250 MB of my monthly 1 GB of data left. Contacted customer services etc. They basically are dismissing what I tell them and is written and signed on my order forms by the store reps. I'm over 100 miles from the store when not at work. I work 6am to 6 pm. Yet this is a Vodafone cock up. They don't care or put the effort in to rectify root cause of the problem. Will cancel and advise all to stay well clear of Vodafone. ..for life!!!!

Shocking service for a Vodafone business user, you can complain over and over again but always you get someone in S.Africa or worse in Egypt and the English is so bad they cant even understand you. I would not touch them again even after nearly 15 years with them, since this lot got them it has really gone down hill.

Overcharged me for UK Data. When I queried the charges and asked for a statement that provided evidence for these charges they said they couldn't for security reasons. The customer service support guy's validity for the charges was a repeated statement that 'I'm sorry the charges are valid' - yes but where is the evidence... Not only this, when he read out the charges for my account, the numbers didn't even match the numbers I could see on their website. If that doesn't show they made them up then I don't know what does. Will be leaving the company as soon as possible and spreading the word that Vodafone exploits people's trust in the charging system and outright robs you with no supporting evidence to explains their actions.

Last year I purchased mobile broadband for £8 a month which in actual fact I never used so a waste of money really. I completely forgot about it and carried on paying for it as I agreed to that contract. I had two contract phones with Vodafone plus the mobile broadband so they were getting a lot of money from me a month. At the start of last year my monthly payments were extremely high compared to what I normally would pay but I assumed without checking maybe it was because I was going over my data. I thought nothing more of it until about 4 months ago when I went to cancel one of my contracts. I cancelled it early and was willing to pay the charges I waited for the end of the month and still no cancellation on the contract. I phoned again and finally someone cancelled my old contract properly on the 2nd attempt. When my bill came in for that month which was around £167 I thought it was even higher because of the cancellation of my old contract. Paid it thought nothing more until the following month when I received a bill of £225! I phoned them immediately and asked what is going on with my account to find out they had re-installed the mobile broadband on my account from £8 to £30 for 2gb a month then the last two months £100 a month for 5gb!!!!! I never signed a contract for this and never asked for it to be put on to my account. The £8 a month mobile broadband yes but not £30 or £100 broadband !!!! They told me it was an error and they will refund me for this. Was told I would get a call back but nothing. I called about 7 times about this situation was promised I would have a refund of over £500 plus compensation but no email as requested to confirm this. I phoned again and again and finally after false promises constantly I spoke to a gentleman that kept to his promise and after 4 hours of his listening back to phone calls and chasing up the problem they issued me the refund. Once my last contract ends in December I'm afraid I will no longer use Vodafone. I can't believe for a whole year I never noticed that the money was taken out of my account until they started taking a ridiculous amount of £100 out! Just a good job it happened really. Also the communication with colleagues at Vodafone is appalling they do not write enough notes on your accounts for the next person that you speak to so you have to go through the whole process again and many of the people that work on the phones do not understand English. Waste of time and wouldn't recommend anyone using them also would like to say that the signal can be very temperamental sometimes it's okay in the same location and then suddenly the next day no service.

If you are considering changing to Vodafone DON'T. I was with Orange for over 12 years and regretably changed to Vodafone. The iphone I received was faulty from the start, it was sent for repair and even then it did not work properly. I tried over several weeks to contact them but nobody would speak to me! I was promised return calls 10 times but nobody called me back, nobody knows what is going on. I want to write directly to Nick Jeffrey CEO as ultimately he carrys the can and gets paid top whack for what I wonder. As an update, after 4 weeks of trying I finally got to speak to somebody called Jacob in the complaints department He said that the contractual monthly payment of 31 pounds would be credited to my account and that I would receive a text message confirming this on the same day. To date 2 weeks later I still have not received this. This is an absolute disgrace. I would NEVER treat a customer in this manner.

Unacceptable Customer "Service". I've had a week of their crap customer service regarding a problem with my account whilst trying to upgrade to a new phone and tariff. I called Monday 16th January to upgrade. It was all agreed that I was upgrading to an iPhone 7 Plus 128GB handset on a 24GB per month (half price for first 6 months) tariff. This was all agreed, T's & C's were read to me, the new contract was agreed on the phone and I was told I'd receive the phone on Wednesday 18th January. Brilliant! However. I then got a phone call from Vodafone about 40 minutes later saying that there was a problem with the upgrade and was told that I couldn't upgrade as this month's bill hadn't been paid yet, so I asked to be transferred to billing and paid it in full straight away. Then, I was transferred back to the upgrade department and I was connected to a different person who told me that my account was showing a "promise to pay" on it and they couldn't do anything for me! I had JUST paid my bill and hadn't asked to have a promise to pay set up. The guy on the phone also told me that I couldn't have the tariff I'd been told I could and agreed to, as they don't offer the half price on the 24GB data tariff. He also told me that the iPhone 7 Plus wasn't in stock and I'd have to wait 1-2 weeks minimum for it but he couldn't do any upgrade for me due to this thing on my account. I asked to speak to a manager, but was told they don't speak to customers on the phones (how professional). I then spoke to a senior member of staff who told me they were going to sort the problem and get the upgrade done for me "on the spot". They struggled to get this promise to pay taken off my account, and it is STILL on there FIVE DAYS LATER, and I am still unable to upgrade. I have made about 7 phone calls to Vodafone and logged 2 formal complaints. Neither of which have been dealt with. One of the people I dealt with regarding the first complaint told me she would call me back the following day at 12pm to update me with the progress but never did. The second person cut me off whilst I was on hold and never rang me back. They supposedly escalated the problem on Tuesday regarding getting this stupid promise to pay off my account and I was told that it would take 2-3 DAYS to do and I would get a call back once it was done. It is still on there and I haven't had a single call back as promised. I finally spoke to someone on Wednesday as I decided to call and try again to resolve it and I was told that it was fine, they've been able to work around the problem and my phone would be on its way to me for Friday delivery as I'd missed the next day cut off. Great! Finally all sorted! NO!!! I checked my DPD account this morning to make sure it was all going to plan, and it was showing as no deliveries scheduled. So I called a Vodafone AGAIN and I was told that my order had been automatically cancelled as the account was showing as being in "Collections". I demanded to speak to a manager. Again, told they weren't able to get a manager on the phone and instead put me through to a senior advisor. I was told that I had been lied to by the previous service advisors with respect to being upgraded and with regards to the phone I asked for being sent. I'd also been told false information regarding the phone's availability and that they have no stock of the 7 Plus whatsoever and that depending on colour choice, it would be a 1-2 or a 2-4 week wait. By this point I was seeing red. I have been told lie upon lie by numerous different staff over the last 5 days. I have been transferred to departments that weren't anything to do with the situation. I have been cut off by the advisor whilst being on hold. I have entered TWO separate agreements and had both cancelled. I had been told by a senior advisor that Vodafone HAVE to keep to any promises they've made their customers and I've had nothing close to that. And, to top it off, despite this situation being escalated TWICE to get something I didn't ask for on my account removed, it's still on there and I am still unable to upgrade. I have been told it's been escalated to the highest standard and it will be sorted but not given any time frame. Apparently once they've had a delivery of phones, they'll call me to tell me. But I've been promised a call back 3 times and only had 1 return my call. That was by Gemma today who was rather helpful. I am appalled by the service overall though. I've spent thousands of pounds with Vodafone the last few years and I'm trying to upgrade to an even higher tariff than I'm already on and spend more money, and this is the service I get! I wouldn't have minded so much if I had been told the truth from the start, but I wasn't. The service at this company is the worst of ANY UK network and I wouldn't recommend Vodafone to anyone whatsoever. Appalling company and total sham when it comes to customer service. No doubt this will have been a futile type up too as I can't imagine anyone will even bother replying or helping to resolve this issue and compensate for the trouble of the last week. I would have rated less than 1 star if the option was there.
