“Barely stable, needed to be restarted 2 or 3 times to just work. Nothing worked as expected. The remote function was unusable. It was slow, messy, too complicated and not even beautiful.”

“Starting a test resulted almost in a disaster for my speakers. Output 100%!!! My audio “chain” is: audioplayer like volumio directly connected with fiber to an active dali system. The volume is controlled bij a browser interface to the player. You assume that the volumio player is always connected to a preamp or amp with volume controls. Bad idea and therefore i found an exellent solution - with some more benefits - with Moode.”

“Use it for Spotify Connect and is stable for the weeks since I installed it again. When Volumio was new it was very unstable. Still know there was a RuneAudio fork that died quickly. That made me switxh to Picoreplayer, but the LMS spotty Plugin is not supported anymore. So I'm back again 😀”

“it’s a fantastic product with such easy user interface. I bought it to control a hi-fiberry DAC. It sounds amazing at the four bit rate Spotify server allows. It’s easy to set up. I will probably use the software to do a smaller build with a pi zero I have used Volumio for at least eight years plus. Strong recommends. 4/5 because there are times when it just doesn’t want to connect as a headless Spotify server, and it will be unpredictable. I had a period of over six months where this was the case and the current build seems to be much more stable.”

The android app as well, and am still learning features after all those years lol It could have a little better search, and maybe a option to edit tags in the future?”

“My opinion is related to the only feature I need and that is no more available. Rendering for tidal connect. I don't need volumio as streaming service for tidal because I have an external streamer (innuos) with proprietary app perfectly working. So if I use tidal connect I from my smartphone and I would like to connect it to my raspberry p4bi for sending the signal to my dac ... I really don't understand why you changed the rule and stopping this feature. So ... in my opinion 2 stars are right.”

“I’ve been using Volumio lately on a Raspberry Pi 4. I remember the first version I ever tried on my old Raspberry Pi 3; it was flawless, responsive, and quick. Now, it’s a slow, buggy mess. The Bluetooth connection often suffers from micro-disconnections, the web GUI sometimes takes an awfully long time to load, and my Raspberry Pi overheats and hangs even with a decent-sized heatsink. I think Volumio has just enshittified itself over the years. It was a good project, though.”

“I used to have Volumio running for every stereo in my house, but stopped using it once they not only pestered me for money but required personal info and account creation just go download a touch screen plugin. I use moOde now, not that impressed with it but on principle it's better.”
