“Extremely bad experience! Buyer beware. Ordered Volumio Primo Streamer/DAC on 1/04/21 for $849.00.USD Received unit. No ON/Off switch, No power Led light. Plugged it in, waited 5 minutes for the auto set up “hot spot” nothing happened; tried numerous times, still nothing happened. The unit would NOT connect (wireless or Ethernet cable) to Modem/Router that works perfectly with all other home equipment. Contacted Technical Support (TS), they connected (remotely) to my computer, took control, connected to the Primo. It worked briefly but Volumio did not have my Kobuz account and I could not add it (although Volumio advertises it supports Kobuz). Unit stopped working. Numerous emails to (TS) and attempts did not fix the issue. TS suggested another remote session (that I would have to pay for) in addition to the $849.00 I had already spent on a non-working unit; I declined. After many more attempts of trying to get the unit working, I found out that the software the Primo came with was OUTDATED (2020 version) current version is 3+. Suspect it was the reason the unit would not automatically set up and support Kobuz. TS did not mention the obsolete software, nor did they install the current version; I had to and did install the current version. It worked briefly but now Volumio (wireless or by Ethernet cable) is not recognized by the Modem/Router and is not working. As of today 2/07/22, the Primo is dead and unusable. I finally decided to not spend any more time and money on an expensive unit that should have worked from day one without the drama. I requested to return the unit for a refund through Customer Service.. Volumio’s return policy is the customer pays freight and VAT charge for returns. Bottom line: • Ordered an expensive unit $849.00 USD. Should have been plug&play. • Unit did now work upon receipt and still doesn’t work now, over a month later. • Cannot use my entire system now. • Will have to order a new unit (that works) from a different company. • Requested a refund, NO REPLY. Buyer beware”

“It's fantastic. Really easy to use, once set up. Network shares can be a tad fiddly if not shared from a Windows based server. But, it's really nice to use. Only down side is the lack of tag support for .wav Not enough of an issue to not give a 5.”

“The software needs to be tested and hardened more; two reboots and you can reinstall and setup the whole stuff again. Besides that: when starting up after a new install, set the volume to 30 instead of 100! Attaching a NAS-share need to be documented a bit more than what is mentioned in the software at present (foreward of backward slashes in path for instance)”

“Easy to set-up, user friendly. I built 2 network streamers based on Raspberry Pi and Volumio and couldn't be more satisfied. I use one with a headphone amp and one with a Denon amp and a pair of Monitor Audio. Mostly Spotify, sometimes internet radio and music stored on my network. Always up, clean sound. If I managed to make them work, anyone can do it.”

“I am surprised to find everything I need working properly with volumio. I tried heos and blues, both failed reading my ssd card. Since I made up my mind to leave Amazon hd and give Qobuz a try, streaming sounds better than cd. Though I have no idea how computers are handled, till now I never needed support. Overall I am very happy with volumio, thank you.”

“I install it on a old Acer Iconia Tab and use it with external amplifier. It is very stable and works flawlessly so far (touch works only on half of screen - driver problem, not an Volumio issue).”

“Volumio utilized an old raspberry pi from 2012 (the first model with 256 ram). I use it to stream Spotify to my hifi. Happy with this. Sound quality is nice.”

“It is a great program. Have it installed on a few RPi 3B's in my hobby room and in my son's shed. Easy and cheap solution to have a) internet radio b) Spotify and c) stream music. Connect the RPi to an amplifier and you have a great system”
