My husband wanted to celebrate his 80th birthday in Bembridge because of the indoor bowling facilities available. The holiday was a family gift. He was not allowed to play in the bowling hall not even once as it was taken over by bowling clubs from Essex. Why weren’t we told this when booking? If it was mentioned on line when we booked we would have avoided that week. Such a disappointing birthday. The situation was reported at reception and they stated that this needed looking into. So Warners Leisure will you address this misleading information?

Having read all the terrible Warner reviews I can empathise. But we solve the problems by taking our own sheets and pillows and cleaning materials. I always clean every surface before I can settle down. Takes only a few minutes. I do not trust the cleaning staff.

I stayed at Gunton Hall in 2023 and 2024, both times at the end of January/beginning of February. The staff are generally very friendly and helpful and the food (which is buffet-style) is good but I would suggest that menus be displayed each day as this did not appear to be the case. The first time I stayed there was a fridge in my chalet but unfortunately not the second time and apparently this is according to the grade of the chalet. On my second visit I had some problems with the heater in my chalet and needed reception to call a technician in to explain how to work it. This was helpful but even when the heater was working it could still be quite noisy!

Nice hotel great room very poor dining choices for someone on a gluten free diet. Why are you vegetarian and vegan diet catered for which is a choice gluten free is a medical condition. I don't think I will return to a Warners hotel unless they up their dietary requirements. Not impressed.

We have been many times to Warner hotels but this was our first visit to Alveston Hall. 8 in our group all disgusted by the dirty stains on the chairs in the dining room. FILTHY. 2 of our group had upset stomachs and we heard of other people taken Ill. The sound system was awful from our table position, just heavy bass. Nobody was able to do anything about it not did they seem particularly sympathetic. The man in the room beneath ours was smoking on his patio which meant we had to close our window and with no air conditioning it was stifling. Come on Warner, your standards are slipping.

We stayed at Cricket St Thomas. The room was beautiful and we loved our location. We would like to comment on one particular member of staff who was outstanding in her performance and customer care and that was Jay the singer. Unfortunately there was a couple of other things that quite spoilt our holiday. One was the dance theatre was far too cold in the evening. We complained a couple of times to the bar staff but they said they need it cold because they are busy. I must point out that they were not busy at all. Most people did not stay long because of the temperature. Most were elderly and did not drink much. It would have been helpful to have a toilet on that level. We had to climb two flights of stairs. We were disappointed with the service in the restaurant. There did not seem to be enough waiters. We had to wait a long time for our food and drink. The buffet plates had pools of water in them and had to be emptied out and wiped before use. My husband and myself had to help several people with their food. We had to reach food for them carry it back to their table and get additional condiments for them. This should be the waiters job. I am meant to be on holiday. We also had a lot of dirty crockery left on our table. We had to move it to other tables in-between courses. We usually have such a nice time and feel quite spoilt. We have got another break booked in December. We are hoping with all your cutbacks we will enjoy it and book more in the future. One last thing is we were not sent a feedback form as you normally do. I had to search the Internet to find this form. I am sure many people will not be able to do that.

Stayed for a 4 night break at Corton this August bank holiday. Lovely setting overlooking the sea. Chalet ok, a bit basic, but no fridge, which is unusual at Warner hotels. Plus could hear next door. The food was not as good as previous Warner hotels, some items missing from the Asain night menu which was disappointing, as normally love this menu. Chef said they have been without the dish for weeks. Not good when pre-printed menus. Entertainment was superb, especially the resident band. Best in all Warner hotels we have been to. Breakfast was good until the last morning, changed the bacon from back to very under cooked streaky. Horrible. Staff very friendly in all departments. Have done many Warner breaks at different locations and always found to be great. Just hope the food standard is just a blip on this occasion, as love the entertainment and the fact it's adult only. Will try one more break as had more good than bad.

Gunton hall grounds very nice entertainment team and band very good food not as good as it used to be deserts appalling trifle looks like it’s come from Iceland in a plastic tub rice pudding each Evening lumpy custard no ice cream small little pieces of desert on bigger than a petti four cheese and biscuit squashed tiny dish with cake and pickle ! You used to have well presented deserts with tiny jug of cream or custard made the meal special the experience was just like school dinners

We have recently come back from Alvaston Hall for the weekend, the Fleetwood Mac band was brilliant. The staff the same, But the food for us has gone down, why have the hotel decided not to fry eggs for breakfast but put them in the oven, seriously they look like joke eggs. Many people complained about them. The food especially at breakfast was warm at best. Why when asked for a pot of tea also was refused, l could have one if it was decaff or earl grey, the reason being because they were short of teapots. We have been coming to your hotels for many years and have seen lots of cutbacks although your prices paid by guests has gone higher. We know your turnover for staff may effect the service but if you want returning customers then think again your main management.

Husband and I came on a coach holiday to Alvaston Hall. The bedroom was lovely and cosy, warm, lashings of hot water but the problem was its situation. We had requested when booking, a low floor close to amenities as my husband has walking difficulties. We can well understand that requests aren't always possible but we never expected the long walk (along an uneven floor) to the lift and a further two long corridors to room 604 on the second floor. We were seated to the right hand side of the stage in the dining room which was quite a distance from the buffet. Food and plates were cold by the time they reached the table regardless of whether it was self service or by waiter. It seemed pot luck whether plates or food was really hot to start with. On the plus side there was a good menu choice. Before Christmas we had holidayed at Hayling Island and in comparison the day time activities did not match up. However the evening entertainment was very good with Lindsey Norman an excellent host. Alcoholic drinks way too pricey, and hot chocolate was weak watery, and luke warm. We battled the long trek to our room just to have a decent HOT drink. We would like to try more Warners this year as the pluses appear to outweigh the negativeòs

We have had 2 Warner breaks this year, chosen because of our excellent previous experiences before. But I’m sorry to say Warners are not what they were in many respects. Our first stay was at Bembridge where we have been twice before. The accommodation is always lovely and the rooms beautifully kept so that aspect was fine. The disappointment was the menus which are all preprinted so that exactly the same food was offered on day two as day one with two extra uninspiring dishes described as Chef’s Choice. The Asian menu that appeared two days in a row was very mundane - not even as good as from your local take-away! The starters were the same every day, Our next stay was supposed to be at the new Heythrop Park with some friends who had booked for us to go from there to Stratford to the RSC. A week before we were due to go we had letters saying that our rooms were ready but certain facilities would not be ready and, if we proceeded, we would receive a 33% discount. We agreed but, just a few hours before we left home, we were told the holiday was cancelled as the rooms weren’t ready. Since this was part of the Stratford break we wanted to go somewhere so we were offered rooms at Thoresby Hall, putting many miles on our intended journey. As usual the rooms were beautifully kept but we were faced with exactly the same menus as we had at Bembridge but, whereas the restaurant service there was satisfactory, it was appalling at Thoresby Hall. It seemed to be staffed by untrained teenagers who were completely unaware that tables needed clearing and orders taken - they just dreamed about so that the people at the table next to ours gave up after their first course and left without a dessert- their table remained uncleared as we left. There was simply no-one in charge of the dining room. Combine this with the same food once again so our experience was not a happy one. We had become reliant on Warner’s for a place which suited our needs as older people but we will not be returning until Warner’s sack the bean-counters and listen to their clients.

Just returned from Norton Grange 16/09/2022 disapointed as we went in 2021 with Majestic coaches as was impressed . This time we were put in the chalet the fatherist away from main buildig with very poor lightingoutside The outside of the chalet was was dirty and needed a good clean eg widow sills, soft and gutter. Inside was spotless but you needed a set of steps to get in the shower. My wife and I both over 70yrs helped each other in and out of the shower as the bath was so high of the ground. The pillows on the beds had been used so much they were so flat we had to ask for two more. We also found that although the entertainment was good it was far to loud and I mean loud. The group to me seams to be playing music what they liked and also a routine as they keep saying come down and dance but only a few eg 3-4 only would try to dance it was totaly the wrong type of music to dance to with to high a tempo. Food was excelent and so was the cleanlness inside the main building. The staff were also very helpful and kind

Three night stay at Thoresby Hall. Had room in the old hall with lovely views of parkland with white deer and bird life. Fabulous building with many rooms open to guests. Spa and treatments very good. Only let down by evening meals. Main courses inedible with poor quality meat and horrible "thrice cooked chips". Staff working under pressure due to understaffing.

We have just returned home from our 3 night stay at Bodelwyddan Castle. The hotel ,staff were very friendly, our standard room very clean and comfortable, the food was good (could have been a little hotter) the Entertainment was good. Our only complaint was having no waitress service for drinks during the entertainment. This we found very difficult because the lighting is dimmed which made it impossible for my husband to see so I had the job of fetching a drink. Also many people were complaining about the long wait to be served at the bar. Lack of staff seemed to be the problem. I hasten to add we are NOT big drinkers but many people do like a few drinks during the evening. Also you certainly know how to charge for drinks the prices were outrageous.

Holme Lacy Hotel. I Chose help yourself Carvery Restaurant , on arrival "Table service" only available . Less food "portion control" ( 3 small roast potatoes with everything) Less choice of menus . Usually given "Table for entire stay " now it's "Musical Tables" for every meal , ridiculous!. Meals timed and takes 90 mins ( by design not chance !) . For "Every meal" for some ridiculous reason ? staff couldn't find our name and room number on their list ,more delay and incompetence !. So after 30 years of going to Warner's this is the first Complaint from us , and if this is how the "Dinning Experience" continues , then our Holidays with Warner's will cease .

Our stay at Bodelwyddan. Breakfast was good but we didn't think that the dinner choices and quality were up to the same standard as previous visits when we had rated Bodelwyddan as the best for food. Although our main waiter was efficient, others were not, resulting in me having to clear plates from our table when he wasn't on duty. There seemed to be a shortage of trained staff. There was a comedian appearing on the last evening in the Mulberry lounge and our party had to stand throughout his hour and a half performance because there was insufficient seating. Not impressed. Hope things have improved if we visit again.

Our fourth Warners break and unfortunately, not the best. The spark seems to have gone from the operation. Very good breakfasts with plenty of choices but the evening menu is much more limited than it used to be and now repeated every two days. Some of the staff need more customer service training and to learn to smile.
