What is the use of paying the extra cancellation protection when it does not work ??? As a terminally ill person who cancelled within a period to allow them to re-sell the room have been told they will hold onto the £300 + until they book again.. basically they need that money for the sake of a little quality of life that they have left.. never have I dealt with such uncaring disgusting money grabbing people such as these !!!

Looking sad, needs new carpets, stuck down with a lot of black tap. Swimming pool has no heat, we were told hasn’t worked for the last six weeks, had my nails done on the Wednesday, started to chip the next day, if it was our first visit to warners it would be our last, come on you can do better.

The actual site at Gunton Hall is OK, as is food and accommodation. Just don’t use the spa. On entry there is a sign warning you to be quiet! This gives you an idea of management style. I booked the facial/manicure package. My nails take ages to dry, so I requested my manicure first but their ‘protocol’ is to do your facial first. I just had nails done and yes, they smudged, although I was extremely careful. They were removed next morning and I felt disinclined to take the facial as the atmosphere was so difficult. I requested a refund which has been denied. My word against the manager here. Whatever happened to customer service? Be warned! Don’t expect a refund if you are dissatisfied!

Booked 3 nt break 2022. In hospital cancelled. Money put in holding acc for 12 months. During that time diagnosed with incurable lung disease. Not advised to mix for fear of infection which could prove deadly for me. In fact our lives are now the same as shielding permanently. Have to wear masks when with people indoors etc. and cough a lot. Unpleasant for other people. Supplied Drs letter as they requested which gave name of disease and reasons I shouldn’t go. Dr wrote she supported my request for refund. Still refused. Write to MD at head office with full info - still refused. Didn’t even send written reply and explanation. Got his sidekick to ring. Read T and Cs in detail - nowhere does it state about refunds for incurable diseases or a terminal diagnosis. In fact they never give a refund. It’s all rebook or gift your holiday to a friend. If you are able to rebook they then charge rebooking/ cancellation fee plus the updated price of the break you booked initially so you end up losing most of the money they put in a holding account anyway and it costs you a lot more. What they put about their protection plan on the back of the confirmation of booking is just a few lines but it’s written in a way that leads you to think you are fully covered. You have to really dig into it online to find the exact facts which are ‘you’ve been a sucker mate!’ So here I am with an incurable disease I didn’t ask for losing out on the test of my life and some so and so is keeping my money! £472.01! What a way to treat people! Disgraceful!

We have been many times to Warner hotels but this was our first visit to Alveston Hall. 8 in our group all disgusted by the dirty stains on the chairs in the dining room. FILTHY. 2 of our group had upset stomachs and we heard of other people taken Ill. The sound system was awful from our table position, just heavy bass. Nobody was able to do anything about it not did they seem particularly sympathetic. The man in the room beneath ours was smoking on his patio which meant we had to close our window and with no air conditioning it was stifling. Come on Warner, your standards are slipping.

I haven’t been yet but booking for a group was a nightmare. I called the help line a couple of times and got different answers. Also only the lead guest can make amendments and then it isn’t straightforward. Warners need to streamline their online booking and train their customer are advisers better. I had paid an extra £10 to have a room allocated but when I tried to change I was told that the cost is £15. I’ve been to Warners before but this will probably be the last time if they don’t get their act together. I think they are slipping in customer care and I would only give a two star, my friend also was very frustrated and such a waste of our time!!!! Kate Neale

I have been a long standing customer at Warners for over 25 years, however, this will no longer be the case as Warners have declined in every aspect!! and they honestly do not give a damm about this!!! They just always seem to write the same answer of which is just expressing their disappointment in your bad experience and then stating that they do hope you would visit them again in the near future......such unprofessionalism!!! Sadly I will not be returning, as there are now far too many issues of which are not trivial but very very serious, but have obviously not been addressed, so goodbye Warners with you extortionate prices, but lousy cheap tacky breaks

Norovirus sickness bug in the hotel before we arrived (and subsequently while we were there ... reception staff were wearing masks!) which we should have been told about BEFORE our break. Absolute disgrace! We eventually cut short our weekend (an 80th birthday treat) without an apology or any offer of compensation, and my wife was ill after our return. Weekend completely ruined. Queuing to enter the restaurant with a different table at every meal. Awful change of policy. £25 to reserve a tiny table for the entertainment. Total rip-off when we had paid well over £1,000 for the weekend. All about money grabbing with no consideration for the customer. Duty of care: Zero. One star above is incorrect. It wouldn't accept my review with no stars! NOTE to Warners: Don't bother to reply with your standard response, ie "we are sorry you were not happy with some aspects of your visit, and we look forward to seeing you again soon!" And by the way, I won't be taking you up on your "welcome home" offer of £15 pp off our next holiday!

Just home from a 4 day break at Heythrop Park. Got off to a bad start from arrival. Our room had not been cleaned at all, we told reception and they asked if we would wait in the bar for 20 mins as housekeeping were cleaning room straight away. We went back later and they still had not cleaned but someone had been in and left a spare toilet roll !.. The bathroom bin was completely full, toothpaste in the basin, glasses with white powder on inside, hairs in shower and basin, only one bathrobe and we comlained again and this time waited in room and 4 people came and faffed around and left and still the bin had not been emptied. Later on we had a shower and the towels were very damp, I shudder to think that they were from the people before us and folded and put back on the rack, hand towel had make-up on it. The bottom sheet had a stain on it, the bed not made just quilt pulled up and pillows left with dents still in from sleeping on them. The sink plug did not fit so would not hold water. Room glasses not washed, tea tray very dusty, cobwebs in room, carpet never hoovered. Really disappointed. Always some food options missing on menus, the Market Kitchen restaurant was quite nice, very pleasant waiters, however the speed that the food came out made you feel as if you had 15 mist and then you had to leave, I was still chewing my starter and the main appeared, at breakfast one morning a lady ordered porridge and eggs benedict and the chap brought them both out at once ! She made him take the eggs away. I booked the break because you advertised a Motown evening and that is the only reason we booked but in the end it was Soul sounds and the singer made all the songs sound like pup music, really disappointed. We were expecting luxury break and we have had better room stays in Premier inns as they are always absolutely spotless. This was our first Warners stay and I can assure you that it is our last. Disappointed does not cover it.

Booked for Nidd Hall arriving on the 21st October, but earlier in the week began to get ill, left it till the 20th hoping that I would get better unfortunately I had to call Warner holidays to cancel my break .I explained the problem that I didn't feel well enough to travel and asked if I could move my break to next February. I also was willing to pay any extra incurred with moving the dates, only to be told that I hadn't taken out their insurance and could not move my dates. I hadn't taken their insurance out as I already had an annual travel insurance. So I had to cancel my holiday with a loss of £653 ,I think it is ridiculous that I couldn't change the dates.

After many wonderful breaks at Warner's our last one to Alveston Hall was extremely disappointing. Facilities were OK as usual but the service very poor. We had a Royal Suite together with a VIP Experience. The suite was very nice but poorly serviced - we had to ask for clean towels/tea facilities and our bed to be made up. The VIP Experience was none existent to the point where they agreed and gave us our money back. The poor service I believe was down to lack of manpower. We were informed that staff was down by two thirds. Apparently its under some form of new management - which appear to be failing. Everyone has suffered over the past two years but if Warner's are unable to supply the standard to which I and many others have become accustomed, then costs/business plan/staffing/etc need to be seriously reviewed! We have complained by letter to HQ and email and not had a response! Still waiting.

Warner Leisure Hotels are a disgrace .We booked two , hotels for March and May. The March holiday was fine, but 8 days before the May 20 holiday, I suffered a heart attack and went into hospital and had to have a Pacemaker fitted, (a painful three hour operation). After returning home I telephoned Warners to say that I would not be able to come on friday, and could I transfer to a later date. I was told that my holiday would be cancelled, and I would lose my money. Warners do not know the meaning of COMPASSION,as this has happened to other guests. Every body that I have spoken to says this is a disgrace, and will not book holidays with them in the future

Entertainment was great,Gavin Elllis, very talented, made me laugh,Garden room well equiped but could do with a repaint. On the whole food was very good , only probs. cod and chips, cod was awfull, and breakfast sausage could do with a better quality. My main problem was getting in touch with your customer services, terrible service and very very long wait too speak to a human, you must be aware how bad this service is, has put me off coming back again.

I will keep this very short. If you are reading this then you probably have read other reviews about Cricket st Thomas. I agree with all the other negative reviews and it would be pointless to add mine. Do not bother to book this hotel - please save your money and choose another hotel experience where you can have value for your money

My husband wanted to celebrate his 80th birthday in Bembridge because of the indoor bowling facilities available. The holiday was a family gift. He was not allowed to play in the bowling hall not even once as it was taken over by bowling clubs from Essex. Why weren’t we told this when booking? If it was mentioned on line when we booked we would have avoided that week. Such a disappointing birthday. The situation was reported at reception and they stated that this needed looking into. So Warners Leisure will you address this misleading information?
