I was quoted £1,540 to transfer my warranty to a new EV and told it was a special loyalty deal. I had £965 left on my current policy, so I assumed £1,540 was the total cost, not an extra charge. For context, the car dealer offered a 3-year EV warranty for around £1,500, so staying loyal for £40 more seemed fine. But when I used the company’s own website, I got a quote of £782 — and £1,814 for 3 years. When I said I was ready to go ahead, I was told I had to pay the full £1,540 in addition to my remaining balance. I was never told this upfront. Only after I challenged it did they suddenly offer to price-match the £1,814 quote — making it obvious the “deal” was never real. I felt misled and frankly angry — it felt like they tried to con me out of £1,000. I’ve lost trust and won’t be using them again.

They are more than happy to take your monthly payment, but go out of their way 'not' to authorise pay-out any claims. The reasons they provide are just shocking. The '1' star is only to be polite for the agents who take the calls. The review/assessment process is an absolute sham! I would categorically not recommend to any friends or family. Anyone reading this, please shop elsewhere...You'll thank me later.

I purchased a 10/100 level warranty plan from Warrantywise, expecting peace of mind and reliable protection for serious vehicle faults. Instead, I was left extremely disappointed and misled. My vehicle developed a heavy oil leak, confirmed by a qualified mechanic to be coming from the rear housing area – most likely the rear engine oil seal, a component that is explicitly covered under the Warrantywise 10/100 plan if it is “causing a major oil leak (oil must be dripping)” and “needs to be replaced immediately.” My case ticked all those boxes. Despite this, my claim was unreasonably rejected. The company argued the part was not covered, without clarifying whether they had even investigated the oil seal – the one component that is specifically listed in their warranty booklet. This denial felt arbitrary, and I strongly believe they are misinterpreting or selectively enforcing their own terms to avoid paying valid claims. To make matters worse, when I tried to log a formal complaint, I was treated with hostility and disrespect by staff. They were rude, dismissive, and clearly untrained in basic customer service. I was even discouraged from submitting a complaint, which violates my consumer rights. No accountability, no support – just obstruction. I now believe I was misled and potentially mis-sold this policy. The sales materials and marketing claim comprehensive cover for major failures, but when the time came to actually use the plan, I was abandoned. Their discretionary system seems designed to protect their wallet, not the customer. This experience has caused me stress, financial hardship, and has left my vehicle unusable. I’ve escalated my case to The Motor Ombudsman, Trading Standards, and reported them to the FCA for what I believe are unfair trading practices. I urge anyone considering this warranty: read the exclusions carefully, but more importantly, don’t rely on it when it matters most. A warranty is only valuable if it’s honoured fairly — and in my case, it clearly was not.

I was scammed by warrantywise and paid out over £700 only to be told my basic repairs were NOT covered. They are very good at taking your money and setting up a ‘recurring’ card payment. Just wait till you come to claim on your warranty and you will see what I mean.

I recently purchased a used VW Touareg. I discovered a serious oil leak shortly after taking possession. I reported this to the car dealer, they informed they would contact their chosen warrant provider – Warrantywise - Platinum cover, I was told this would cover almost all problems . I could not find a garage locally who would undertake work on behalf of Warrantywise, Warrantywise found a garage 35 miles from me to inspect the car’s oil leak. After complaining about the distance Warrantywise found a garage close to me, they identified the oil leak problem (incorrectly) and sent a report off to Warrantywise. After a few days I had a reply from Warrantywise , they declined to cover the cost of repairing the oil leak as they put it down to “fair wear and tear”. The only activity this company does with any conviction is to keep contact the customer to extend the warranty. Not fit for purpose.

Edit for 2nd attempt at claiming in the 3 years. Be warned - SCAM COMPANY. My husband had the electric handbrake fixed on the vehicle prior to the mot a few days later.. this company refused to pay out stating we had no MOT failure cover… we had specifically got the handbrake fixed due to the light on the dashboard on 16th December and the MOT wasn’t due until early January. The garage dis the MOT early, before Xmas to return the vehicle to us and keep the mot date the same and now these a**holes have decided it isn’t covered on the warranty! Im going to seek legal advise for this as this company refused to payout for anything over the 3 years we had gold cover!!!! Original review - Charged an arm and a leg for extended cover but wouldn't pay out for work we needed to have done. Took forever to reply to initial email so chased. Eventually replied and refused to pay out. Wouldn't recommend them. Won't use them again in future.

I recently purchased a warranty policy from Warranty Wise, however, my policy has not yet started. Upon deciding to cancel my policy with them, I was met with some challenges. Despite my request to cancel, Warranty Wise informed me that there would be a charge of £50 associated with this cancellation, which I found disappointing. In addition, I found their persistence in dissuading me from canceling to be a bit overwhelming. Given the circumstances and the customer service experience I encountered, I decided to explore other warranty providers. During my research, I came across ALA Warranty, which, in my opinion, appears to offer better coverage and more favorable terms. After comparing the two providers, I am inclined to believe that ALA Warranty might be a more suitable option for me. Reviews and feedback I found suggest that ALA Warranty pays out more claims, which gives me more confidence in their service compared to Warranty Wise. In conclusion, while my experience with Warranty Wise was not entirely positive, I am now considering switching to ALA Warranty based on their reputation and the feedback I have gathered. OMG!! Steer clear of these - Quick enough to want to sell you a policy and then when you have an issue they will do anything to wriggle out of this. We have to pay out of own pocket to have the Turbo dismantled, the garage can then take photos of what the issue is, Warranty Wise will then assess them so called photos and decide if this is covered by our warranty as to weather they need to make payment. Once that Turbo comes off there is no going back. Just off to Martin Lewis, he will have the answers!!! Never again and would never recommend to ANYONE!!

I bought a Fiat 500L, 63 plate and just over 50k miles so my expectations are level headed. The seller was quick to negotiate a better price, agreed to a quick delivery some 60 miles away from me with a fresh new MOT, I have to say his responses were quick, polite and even had a tracker so I knew when he was going to arrive. Unfortunately, this was when the good experience ended I noticed that although the seller initiated text messages, he would not answer any specific questions by them, this was always done by a phone call. The car came with a lot of promise, as does all of his other adverts: Cleaned inside and out, internal engine cleaner added to the oil, brake spray applied to callipers, discs and brakes, fuel system cleaner, forecourt valet using the finest products and a fresh service. The car was also advertised with three service history, the car had none. On arrival the car was filthy inside and out, tried to tell me that it was due to driving here. It was covered in cobwebs. Minor issue really, especially with the speed of delivery. He showed me the paperwork and there was no service history at all, he tried to push MOT receipts in front of me and took them back when challenged, the best was receipt for oil... this is not a full service. The rear windscreen washer did not work, on arrival said he would pay for the repair – again minor issue but I noticed the next day when trying to use the washer the fluid was pouring out from behind the front wheel arch. I agreed to take the car and have a mechanical minded son has since had a look at the car, mechanically it is a good car. However, it has been in an accident that was not disclosed and certainly has not had any service within the last couple of years, all of the filters were filthy. I contacted the seller again and I received what I would describe as a 40-minute ranting phone call from him. All I wanted was for him to pay for the service items as the advert promised it had. He was rude, name calling, overtalked and raised voice was the lowest tone he had. He called me a boy racer! With what I had been doing with the car, now I am a middle aged professional and the car is for my wife whose disabilities prohibit her from driving a manual car. On top of that a 500L is far from a boy racer car, kind of laughable. I asked for a Halfords Service or even stated if he bought the parts I would service myself. Flat refusal. I asked about the 12 day money back guarantee, he actually demanded the car back!. However would come with a delivery charge, collection charge, mileage charge, change of ownership charge, warranty charge, his mechanic to look at it (probably charged) … he stated it was a money back guarantee with T&C’s, these were not disclosed. Despite numerous times asking what the charges where he refused to tell me sounded like I would owe him money to take the car back. It is a shame; the car is ok. It has faults but it is a ten-year-old car. But the seller is a blatant liar and argumentative, loud responses would scare off the faint hearted. He had no need to lie about the car based on the age, just say it how it is. I would not buy from the seller again, untrustworthy and its possible he did an oil change, but I have forked out for a full service myself just to make sure the car is safe for my wife and child. If buying from him beware – car probably good, just get him to confirm in writing and do and do a simple check on the air filter before you part with your money.
