Balsam Hill is the biggest holiday scam on the planet ! Trust me steer clear of this Christmas tree scam ! If you want half of what you paid for, offer up your credit card number sucker! Prepared to be ripped off !

I would give them zero stars I would give them zero stars if that’s an option. I am in day 11 of what another reviewer aptly named by balsam hell. I received half of my tree 10 days ago (the other box never shipped). I have been speaking with customer service about every other day. I have received numerous false promises guaranteeing my tree delivery within two business days. One supervisor even said she would call me back later on in the day to confirm the progress and never returned the call. The next time I spoke with a supervisor they were rude and uncaring about the situation. Currently I have half a tree, no tracking number for the other half and nine days till Christmas, balsam Hill has over $600 of my money. I am starting the return process now I am dreading the upcoming experience. In short, the over promise, lie and don’t care about their customers. Super bummed because the parts of the tree that I have are beautiful.

Lights do not last and they will not replace. Poor management.

Don't do it. Horrible customer service. "We'll call within 24 hours from our back office" - NOPE! "We'll send an email with your new tracking number" - NOPE! "Your tree is on the way and will be delivered tomorrow" - NOPE! "It's Fedex's fault" NOPE! Of course, they have already charged our credit card. Sometimes problems occur with shipping, etc., but when a company lies over and over to cover their mistakes, it's time to move one. They do not have this e-commerce thing down at all. Take your money somewhere else and put this company out of business.

Lights don't last Lights don't last. Year after year I was getting so frustrated with my Christmas tree lights going out. I decided to pay extra to get a good quality tree that the lights would stay lit if one burned out After doing hours of research, I settled on Balsam Hill. I purchased a 9' tree for $749.00. (Way beyond what I have ever purchased an artificial tree for.) They have a 3 year light warranty. Well, the lights lasted 2 years. A whole section went out and I spent hours trying to get them to work. (So much for staying lit.) I called and they sent me a string of lights. For as much as I paid for this tree, they should have replaced it! Restringing lights was not what I had in mind for such an expensive tree. It was so frustrating and NOT an easy task. The next year (3rd year) another section went out. And the following year another section. So, if you want a tree that the lights DON'T stay lit, shop Balsam Hill. Otherwise, you will be restringing lights year after year. And again, for the price, that should not happen!!!! I also purchased a tree after Christmas the year I bought the tree for my daughter. Her tree also did not last "light-wise." 1/15/2018: Received a message from Balsam Hill to contact them. Tried sending an email to the contact information posted and it came back as not a valid email address. So much for their attempt to reach out.

I ordered a 6' garland on 11/18 and paid for 2 day shipping (it was only $2 but still). My credit card was charged the following day. I still have not received it!! I have called 3 times, opened up two cases (which is all customer service says they can do), and spoken to a supervisor once. In all cases, they are blaming it on either the warehouse or FedEx. I was holding out because the product appears high quality, but I guess I'm done and will cancel my order. Interestingly enough, I got an email to post a review, which said it would take 48 hours. I wrote the same review as this one. That was 5 days ago, and it still has not posted, hmmm...

Do not order Balsam Hill pre-lit trees. Ours lasted 2 years. The warranty support is a joke. They sent us a strand of non-matching lights. Not even the same color! As bad as their product performance is, their customer service is worse. Save your money. You could buy a store bought tree and throw it away every single year, and still come out ahead!

I ordered a 9 foot almost $1,000 tree that arrived last week. One of the sections wouldn't light so I contacted them and they said they'd ordered a replacement (after getting me to troubleshoot) and I would receive an email but it would arrive in 3-7 business days! 2 days later I didn't get the email, contacted them again and was told the replacement piece was cancelled because we didn't do enough troubleshooting. I went through the steps, they confirmed we did, and again put it on order. No email, so I called today and they couldn't confirm where it was and when it would arrive, I'd already destroyed the boxes they were in, so I have to put this tree away (I'm having a holiday party on Friday night), a $1,000 tree, go to Home Depot and buy a real tree to decorate because I have no idea when the replacement part will be coming in. POOR POOR POOR customer service. When I told the rep I'd have to do the aforementioned, she said she understood (including writing a bad review). I also see on BBB they had 164 complaints in 3 years. The tree is also largely made up of (interior) cheaper non-realistic needles with the needles on the outside the one I ordered.

I ordered two of the same tree skirts. They shipped one and not the other. When I called to see if there was an error, they said that they had run out of stock. I received no email or call letting me know of this error. On the shipping form, it made it seem that both items shipped out. I don't know if this company was just going to charge me unless I called.

they sent a damaged tree, would not replace bc it was sold out. We had bought it after Christmas the year before and offered to send a new one and we pay the higher price. Then they lied and said they would end one...the next day they refused when i have proof the chats from customer service saved . Then they ignored our emails and said we could only ship it back for refund . we have to pack and arrange it ourselves. Then they claimed to have refunded an expired card that never processed. if we had not followed up would have never got our money back. They send damaged product refused to replace, lied and then did zero follow up ,i would never recommend

We paid $1,389 for the 9ft tree three weeks ago and were told it would arrive within a week. When it did arrive, there were only 2 pieces to a 4 piece tree. We called customer service to find out about the rest of the tree, but they just blamed it on FedEx. Now after our 3rd call to them, we still don’t have a tree or or any idea when we can expect one. What a waste of money. Apparently this company is very incompetent and does not know the meaning of customer service. I will also be reporting them to the BBB also. If you’re thinking of buying anything from this company, DONT!

I ordered $1399 tree and it states on the website that if you place your order before noon it ships same day and after noon it ships next day. I placed my order on Monday evening so it should of shipped Tuesday. I called them on Wednesday to check on order because when I checked order status it said order number they sent to me on conformation wasn’t valid. Called in morning on Wednesday and was told I would get a call back and they were behind because they were flooded with orders. Didn’t receive a call all day so I called back and got the runaround and finally got a supervisor who was no help at all. All she did was give one story after another till she couldn’t keep up with her lies. She told me it just hadn’t been scanned by Fedex so a tracking number wasn’t available then she said the order was in process. She then proceeded to tell me she didn’t know if it had shipped or was still in warehouse she didn’t know where it was. As a supervisor she really made me lose faith in this company. How does such a large company, with today’s technology not know where a $1399.00 item is. She stated that she was looking at my order in the computer and didn’t know if it was still in their possession or Fedex had it! She then proceeded to tell me that she had no information on when I would get my order or any status. Balsam Hill sure didn’t delay on processing my payment.

Paid $950 for one of their trees 11/14/2014. Put it together last Christmas 2 strings of lights out. Called them to see what the fix was. Rude as hell told me I was out of warranty good-bye. This year 3 strings out. $425/year for a tree is REDICULOUS! I wouldn't recommend Balsam Hill to anyone!

Over the past 3 years I have purchased ~$4000 worth of balsam Hill products, including 3 trees. As of this current holiday season, none of them function properly. Tree lights galore are out and I have tossed the largest centerpiece. I have changed out lights, checks fuses and performed all of the troubleshooting of whIch I am capable...with no good result. And by the way, one needs a “special” tool to extract the lights...God forbid if you can’t find it. Bottomoline, there are much higher quality products for much better prices on the market. Save your time and money...and have some HAPPY holidays!

I’ve had my tree for 3 years. I went to put my tree up for Christmas and the bulbs were 75% out. Balsam Hill said there was nothing they could do because my warranty expired

I purchased a 7.5’ Christmas tree at the end of last year. I purchased a $1,200 tree and when I received it, it was broken. I had branches that were not attached and the base that holds the flip was broken so the tree leaned. No big deal, I had a new one shipped in 3 days and used the box of the replacement tree to ship the old one back. I get this one and I plug it in and things looked right but I did not separate and fluff the tree just unwrapped and plugged in. It was not until I put the tree up for Christmas this year and start fluffing the tree that I see scattered all throughout the bottom half are branches where the lights do not work. Not a light here or there but entire branches that do not light. I find one and though “great” but I will deal with it after Christmas. I continue fluffing and separating branches and there are 8 different branches that have no lights that work. After being on technical support changing fuses and such it is determined that this tree also is damaged and I was told I would receive a replacement. After all for $1,200 you have a three year warrant. But this time, they are saying I need to ship the defective one back, (I have to find a box big enough to fit the tree) wait 30 days for processing before a new one will be shipped. That means I will completely miss Christmas this year. Again I purchased the original at the end of last year and have yet to put it up, fluff it out all the way and decorate it. Do not waist your money on Balsalm Hill. YOU ARE NOT GETTING BETTER QUALITY THAN WALMART!!! If I have to go hunting all over town to find a box to fit a 7.5’ tree and wait till after Christmas to receive a new one forget it. I want a full refund and I will go somewhere else!

I admit that Balsam Hill products look great. The problem comes in if you have an issue. We bought a Tree topper for our tree, Nov. 2017. We used it for one Christmas season and then packed it up in the original packaging for storage. Fast forward to Nov, 2018, when I was putting it back on the top of the tree. The weld broke. So, I called and explained. They proceeded to tell me that there was nothing that they could do. Their exact words were "these types of items are not eligible for warranty claims". They did suggest, however, that I GLUE it back together. AHHHH! I don't pay a premium for a product that has to be GLUED back together after only one season. Note that all we wanted was for them to replace the item, didn't want our money back and we were willing to send it back to them. We will never buy from Balsam Hill again. They will not stand behind their products.

We bought a 7.5 ft noble fur tree in January of 2017 and did not put it up until November. We had issues with the lights not working properly. After spending 2 hour on the phone with the technical department, changing plugs etc. ,they agreed to send us another tree. We got it a week later. The lights on this tree didn't work at all. After another 2 hours on the phone with the tech people, changing plugs etc., they determined it was the Controller box and said they would send another. That wasn't it either. Another 2 hours on the phone and we gave up. We sent the tree back on December 6 and asked for a refund. They promised 3-5 days. It's been 2 weeks and all we get when we call them is a run around. I guess we will need to hire an attorney to get our money back. In the meantime we bought another tree at Home Depot. It's also 7.5 foot fur tree. It looks More realistic, the lights are better and it was half the price! Balsam hill is a royal rip off!!
