Would leave 0 stars if I could, recently opened a shop on etsy but the first hours of opening we where almost scammed, doesn't say much for their security for sellers or buyers. Don't go near them TERRIBLE....

Etsy automatically canceled my purchases, flagged my credit card as fraud and suspended my account for no reason, they gave no explanation or reason. My only "crime" was trying to buy things. And so I began to interact with the prescripted AI "trust me bro we're totally real people" useless and awful "customer service". Their "chat with a live person" option is entirely useless as all they'll do is give you prescripted responses and "elevate you to higher help" which is just making you wait for an email to verify your information. In my case, they said they "resolved the issue" only for me to make ONE purchase and have my account suspended again...and again...and again. Over and over going through their useless and mind numbing process. They did the above to me FOUR TIMES between November 5th and November 30th. 4 suspensions, 25 automatically canceled orders, my card being flagged for fraud 3 times and 60 emails later. They PERMANENTLY suspended me and LIED claiming they "already explained"...they did not and in the 25 days worth of emails, NEVER ONCE explained a thing. They would rather ban you than help you and they're likely to LIE to you and make false reasons to flag your account for literally no reason at all.

I wanted to start selling on Etsy, but it turns out, it's impossible for me to verify my identity. I live in Quebec, Canada. And do not have a drivers license. That's relevant because a drivers license is one of the ID that they accept. I also don't have a passport. I have a government issued Medicare card, it has my photo, my full legal name, signature, and expiration date. Everything Etsy said the ID needed, but they don't accept that. I have no idea why. It's seem needlessly obtuse, they have my ID, they have all this other information on me, but I guess it's not good enough for them. Signing up to a website like Etsy, even to be a seller, shouldn't be this hard. They also waited until I paid the 26$ account setup fee before telling me this. So that sucks too. It's also non refundable. Go figure.

Appalling Customer Service and Unacceptable Practices The customer service on this platform is utterly non-existent. When you encounter a problem, you are completely on your own. They consistently deny any involvement in cases, refuse to respond to inquiries, and offer nothing but copy-and-paste answers that clearly indicate no one is actually reading or engaging with your concerns. Moreover, this platform permits the publication of 100% defamatory content in reviews, which is a blatant violation of their own policies, including the Anti-Discrimination Policy, guidelines on Leaving a Review, Terms of Use, Creating and Uploading Content, and the Prohibited Items Policy. They allow buyers to abuse the Purchase Protection Programme, effectively protecting individuals who engage in criminal behaviour, even when it is clear and proven that the buyer is lying. Counterfeit items are flooding the marketplace, and despite numerous reports, there appears to be no interest in removing these fraudulent listings. Scammers are multiplying their shops, misleading customers with cheap, fake products, which severely reduces the opportunities for genuine businesses to reach their target customers. The behaviour exhibited by this platform is entirely unacceptable. Their customer service is not only unhelpful but also appears uninterested in fulfilling the responsibilities for which they are compensated with your money. I strongly urge anyone considering this website to stay well away.

It has been a super disappointing experience. Etsy Seller support is useless. If you are a seller, you will understand this. Even when talking with "people" from Etsy Support, it is like getting an answer from an IA, 90s bot, or maybe a monkey. They only send you automated and pre-setted answers. You can't solve any mid-complex issue with them, which is super sad.

I was excited to place my first order. $1500 for 5 items from three vendors. All three orders were cancelled, no details as to why, no process to fix. They suggested placing the orders individually, and now my account is suspended - again no reason, no process for fixing, nothing. Worst customer service of any site I've ever used. No way to connect with a real person to resolve anything. I'm stuck emailing individual vendors asking them if they can help or if I can order outside the platform. This is a TERRIBLE site - really disappointed after everything I've heard about them.

Terrible company and Customer service !They sell FAKE Gold !!! The 14 K Gold necklace with My new born Baby has turned black and rusty !!! I paid for scrap gift !!! They didn't help me with anything to return my money back !!! Avoid this company and do not trust to them !!! Very BAD Experience !!!

My experience with Etsy has been nothing short of frustrating. They suspended my account without offering any reasonable explanation. The entire process felt like a waste of time, and their lack of professionalism is genuinely disappointing. I deeply regret getting involved and would caution anyone considering it to think twice before trusting them.

I tried to create a shop and it was a disaster from a perspective of UX and support communication. They took money for opening a shop and then it was blocked with no reason. User experience while creating was non intuitive

Etsy is just an overpriced ebay. Everthing on Etsy is twice the price. Terrible site. Hardly any hand made items. Just the usual items you would find any where else. Terrible customer service.

The outrageously high fees on sold items are the reason why it is not worth selling on etsy. To this day, I have not understood what all these fees refer to. The height of rudeness is that they charge you a fee even when your shop is temporarily paused.

Beware ordering from Petsramp in Poland. My purchase was £231.91. The import fees from Fedex were an additional £63! You receive the fees from Fedex once your order has been delivered so it is too late to cancel the order.

Absolutely disgusted with Etsy's lack of due diligence for their customers. I've been a customer on Etsy for years and I received threatening and abusive messages from a seller. Etsy advised me to report the shop as they seen the messages from my screenshots and stated they were inappropriate and not acceptable by Etsy policies. I reported the shop over 2 weeks ago and chased Etsy every other day but they disconnect my calls and online chat saying someone will email me but it never happens. Disgusted with lack of customer service and care

As an Etsy Seller for 2 years, I have always followed Etsys rules and policies. I was a Star Seller; made all of my products myself; and my business was starting to grow. I had heard for months from several other sellers that they had been kicked off without explanation from Etsy. I thought to myself "they must have violated some rule or policy but I'll be fine because I'm following the rules". One morning I woke up to find an email from Etsy stating my acct had been suspended, without explanation. In disbelief, I filled out the form to try to get the suspension lifted... even though I had no idea why it was suspended to begin with. The following day I was told my shop would not be reinstated and the suspension was permanent. Again, there was no explanation at all. So, I certainly can't recommend Etsy to Sellers and these type of practices imact buyers as well. I suggest you look for other marketplaces

I will never order from Etsy ever again. I used their site for first time today well that was biggest mistake. I order 3 bars of yoni probiotic bar saop for 35.00 that was already expensive. Then after I payed my email said I just Purchased 117.18 didn't tell me anything about shipping 85.00 if I new that I wouldn't have got it. Never again

Please provide option for 0 star rating at least because this company doesn’t even deserves that. Etsy should be named the most horrible criminal company on planet earth. At most it seems like Indian sellers are ensured to thrive on this platform as its management discriminates against all others. The staff behind the suspension of accounts are Indians at most and they allow illegal Indian sellers to operate while legit sellers are banned from the platform. The outcome is legit sellers lose their hard earned money, their investment into the platform, their hard spent time and efforts and huge disappointments further experience the shockingly non responsiveness of Etsy.
