Paid for 3 orders with no problem,than made a few others a week later they trying to make me use PayPal or open an account by force, bad business,give customer more options. Will not shop again.

I was on Etsy for at least twelve years. I rarely had a bad experience. Twice, maybe. I spent many thousands of dollars shopping the site. I found the best EVERYTHING and made great friends while purchasing a wide variety of items. Greeting cards, unique and personalized gifts, home decor, handmade leather purses, and on and on. Then I had identity theft. Not necessarily Etsy’s fault. It’s still in the early stages of investigation. I immediately began by switching phone numbers, acquiring new email addresses, changing passwords and user names, securing replacement credit cards, switching bank accounts, and on and on. Traumatic, time consuming, stressful. Do you know how many doctor’s and businesses use your phone number to identify you? I needed to change my account settings, for example, new email address, user name and/or password with Etsy without losing my history of wonderful shops. THAT was a waste of my already frayed nerves and limited time. Apparently this is not possible on the Etsy app but on some nebulous, mysterious, awkward, complicated website that was impossible to navigate. I tried for two days, between working, caring for my family, and trying to assess at the end of the day where I stood on this unimaginable mess. A car was purchased in my name. I found out when I received a collection call that I was in arrears. So I had big fish to fry and no hope of a fast, simple solution to changing info on ETSY. After my efforts were futile, I deleted my account completely. I am not motivated to open a new one. I’m exhausted and defeated. In this inflationary state of the USA with a depression around the corner and our involvement in two wars. I’m trying to hang onto my funds. ETSY has made that easy since I can’t shop there. I won’t go back unless they announce their less convoluted customer service system. Currently, it’s worthless. CAVEAT EMPTOR IGNIS FATUUS

On Etsy I recently bought some dried organic "Yorkshire Lavender" from Craftmoor. Delivery was quick and the lavender well parcelled. However on opening the polybag containing the lavender, there was not the usual scent of lavender, more of a weak, stale smell. I appreciate it's perhaps not the best time of year to buy dried lavender although sachets of it hold their fragrance for three or four years or longer. I feel other customers should be aware of the present quality of this product.

Ordered a curtain rod from Deco Window based on photo of finials. It looked perfect for the hanging I was putting up -- but a different rod/finials arrived and Deco Window refused to accept a return or to refund money. Their photo was wrong -- it wasn't my fault. Shopping on Etsy is very hit and miss. Don't buy anything from these people unless you have it in writing that they accept returns. The Deco Window people cunningly do not mention returns in their product description -- clever, eh?

If you want to pay inflated prices for Chinese AliExpress goods, then this is the place to go. Most of the 'artisan' products are cheap rubbish that are even cheaper on eBay let alone buying direct from China. There are a few genuine traders but most are now junksters.

There customer service is awful, I purchase from a vendor on there web site, I didn't receive it, opened a case, the vendor said they shipped it and showed a shipping label ( nothing else ) so Etsy closed the case and I was told to try PayPal to get my money back! I will never buy a thing using Etsy again ( Amazon ) all the way, if I had used Amazon I would have my product or a refund by now.

My daughter and I attempted to order Christmas gifts for our family from two Etsy sellers. The first seller had something listed but when we ordered it, claimed they could not find the item. They offered to send us something similar instead. Suspecting a bait and switch scam, my daughter asked for a refund. One was given. The second seller caused even more trouble. After 6 days of not even seeing any shipping info, my daughter had to prompt the seller (LovelyLavenderRose) to ship the order, asking if it had been shipped or not. The seller made a lame excuse, that it was still being packaged. Then finally the item shown as having been "shipped." But there was no tracking number included. First the seller told my daughter to use the tracking number provided. But there is NO tracking number listed, my daughter tried to explain, through email. My daughter politely asked three times for the tracking number. First, the seller claimed Etsy would send the tracking info. Well, Etsy did not! All that showed on the site, (which you must create an account to log into!) was "Your order has shipped! We don't have any tracking info for this shipment." Then the seller used the excuse that because it was the weekend, a tracking number would not show. (But that has never happened on any legitimate buying site- there is ALWAYS a tracking number!) When my daughter asked again, now for the third time, the seller sent a screenshot of the tracking number, along with a scolding that "there was nothing she could do at this point" and that my daughter needed to "be patient and wait." Now all of a sudden, Etsy automatically sends an email that the product actually finally shipped, and the email finally includes a tracking number. I suspect that was because the seller finally shipped the order! If the seller had sent the tracking number manually, just given us the numbers as we had asked, it would have saved us all a whole lot of trouble! But it was clear that the seller simply did not want to ship the order, but rather hold onto our money! Finally, we received the order, LATE, after 11 days! The seller, not coincidentally, decided to put her store in vacation mode until "after the holidays" while all this was transpiring. So all we got at first was an automated "I'm away" email response. Scammy! And this is a seller claiming to be from the USA, TN! We seriously doubt that at this point! Long story longer, Esty is never worth this kind of hassle with scammy sellers who do not know how to communicate and a backwards selling platform which also makes no sense! Stay FAR AWAY from Etsy!!!

I think Etsy should take a look at products price and accountability for it. As a customer, I have noticed that products are too pricey (not sure why, perhaps etsy charges the seller) on their site. On the other hand, if you look at other websites it is much reasonable. There is no customer service of Etsy at all. The sellers asking price feels like a rip off. Even though they claim, the products are handmade but I do not think that is quite right.

Had an awfu experience with one of the sellers on here and when I wanted help from the support team, They were less than helpful. Don't be put off because I have had great experiences with other sellers on there but it does make you very vigilant when placing orders. Always check reviews

Ever since purchasing off Etsy, I have begun receiving unsolicited phone calls. At least 3 a day, all from different numbers. They leave no message. All show my area code. This is just sketchy business. I will not do any more transactions with a company that calls me incessantly and for no apparent reason. Scammy!

I just ordered a restraint for a faucet to protect a toddler. Then I discovered by accident that the word "restraint" brought up shocking images of restraints for women during sex. I feel sick. First, that such items are sold on Etsy. Secondly, that these shocking images could accidentally get on my full screen.

Refused to provide refund unless customer paid original shipping cost of $10.90 PLUS the return shipping cost of $10.90, for a total of $21.80. The item originally purchased for $17.00. You lose money dealing with this little company.

Not user friendly too many fees. Extremely disappointed to see it’s not for positive items. Promoting racism and violence against our police is not anything I want to be a part of.

I ordered a mask on The 18th and it said it shipped a week ago still not here after 2weeks . It has never taken anything that long for me to get . Shipment is trash they definitely don't give you the truth on the arrival 🙄
