“If there is a NO star rating, I will give it to Hawes & Curtis without any hesitation. The after-sales service is simply NON-EXISTENCE. The delivery was slow and the shipping company was unresponive. (no contact number and the email address provided is not working @ all). I strongly advise you not to buy from them.”
“Worst customer service I have ever experienced. I understand that e-commerce is something the English don't understand, but come on. Each time I order something there is an issue and resolving it is like getting Jesus off the cross. Latest = two wrong shirts have been sent to me, and now I have to run in circles just to figure out how to send them back and get my refund. It is just awful.”
“Today (8/8/24) I went to the store and bought tops. however, the customer service was awful. The security guards are polite. The two women's who serves the customer's are very rude and racist. They did not allow customers to get the size they want. Very lazy to go to the store room. They need training for both communication skills and how to work hard for better businesses.”
“Worst company to conduct business with . They will loose you items and give you a runaround. Ordered a pair of shoes and belt from this company and it took almost two months for just the shoes to be delivered and no one I able to account for the missing belt .”
“Absolutely please with my H&P purchase. I bought a suit a top coat a shirt tie and a pair of socks. Got them in the sale division and they were great prices as well. The suit is especially nice, the fabric, the finishing are all superb. Package was dispatched to the US and arrived within about 2 weeks. I don't know what all the griping is about but I'm very pleased I'm already shopping for round number two.”
“Poor manufacturing quality - I own a number of Hawes & Curtis shirts that have been worn numerous times over the years. I purchased two white shirts in October 2023 and have only worn one of them 3 or 4 times - the seam has ripped on the arm all along the sleeve placket through no fault of my own, I was wearing it under a jumper and when I removed my jumper during a restaurant dinner, I finally noticed the sleeve was extensively ripped after some time. I complained to Hawes & Curtis, especially considering the purchase was within 6 months and the shirt had hardly been worn, under Consumer Rights and the fact the shirt clearly was not of satisfactory quality, I should have been offered a refund, repair or replacement. They concluded it was wear and tear due to my elbow rubbing on the material, and after much distain and continued emailing, I was only offered a 15% refund! Shocking excuse, shocking attempt at a resolve. I will not be purchasing any more Hawes & Curtis and will ensure my family and friends will also be aware of this shameful customer service and diminishing quality. I see there have been a number of recent issues reported in relation to ripped garments - so it clearly is poor manufacturing and find it offensive that I have been fobbed off with "wear and tear" from my elbow!”
“Avoid at all costs. Bought 4 shirts 2-3 months ago, two have already ripped by the arm.
Been buying TM Lewin and Charles Tyrwhitt for 20 years and never had an issue. Check the guarantee period - none is offered here, at the others there is 6 months.
Spoke to customer services and apparently it's been too long. So they aren't built to last maybe 6-8 wears (over Christmas and been on holiday since).
Looking at other reviews, this is clearly an issue they have had multiple times and possibly why they no longer have a guarantee period.”
“I purchased a pair of Large underwear for a Christmas Gift that I needed before the 14th of December. Large shorts are not Large at all, they are more Medium, or even S/M size. Standard male underwear charts on Google confirm this (their website doesn't have a chart for underwear). The letter attached to the order states I can exchange it. Yet, upon following the exchange link - it refuses, saying the item cannot be returned(???). Initially, the Customer Service assured me that my issue will be solved. A few days later they gave me the same link as a good will gesture (?) the link is still not allowing me to exchange it. Furthermore, a few days after my purchase they dropped the price of the shorts by nearly 50%, so I asked the Customer Service for a reimbursement of the difference. They refused, as apparently a discount code in my order makes it impossible. Be aware that their exchange can take up to 10 working days to be processed. Unfortunately, this makes the exchange in my case impossible as the Customer Service said they can only deliver to the initial address. I won't have access to this address after the 14th... Save yourself the time and stress and choose other Male Fashion retailers.”
“Appalling online customer service. Tried to wriggle out of a refund by claiming the returned shirt had been worn and was marked. Untrue. Showed it to one of their shop managers who agreed it had not been worn and was unmarked. He obtained refund. He apologised but not the customer service people. What despicable behaviour.”
“I was charged for delivery AND returns. All in all around £8! I was charged for an item that was out of stock. I have never known such a tiny size 8! Delivery took almost a week! Awful shopping experience.”
“Very poor customer service. I have purchased quite a few items from them recently. I had an exchange request, handled in a slip shod manner, no information, no telephone contact, only an annoying message inviting you to send an email? I am certain there will be a charge for connection. I will not be purchasing from them again.”
“The sizes of the clothing were not consistent with other brands of clothes. I had Covid and was also moving house shortly after receiving the clothes which led to a delay in returning two of the items of clothes. I booked a Royal Mail return through Hawes and Curtis website and they failed to collect the return so I had to drop the return to the post office which caused a further delay. Hawes and Curtis are Now refusing to refund my money despite being in receipt of the items of clothing. Avoid at all costs - terrible customer service!”
“Absolutely dreadful customer service. I purchased a pair of black brogues (at over £100) for my teenage son (for use at school) in July - he started wearing them on 4 September at the start of term and within three days one of the heels had come off. Both the Westfield store and their online customer services team have refused to help in any way whatsoever due to the fact that it is more than 28 days since purchase (although the shoes had only been worn for three days) and I no longer have the receipt (although the store have a record of my purchase and I have a credit card statement showing the purchase). Genuinely shocking treatment of customers - I would absolutely not purchase anything from this brand ever again. I would suggest going to somewhere like John Lewis where they actively try to sort issues and take pride in their customer service experience.”
“Beware.......Hawes and Curtis will not accept any responsibility for items that go missing within their delivery network.
I ordered 2 shirts and when I received the box on first sight it looked ok but as soon as I started opening the box it became clear that the box had been tampered with and one of the shirts ordered was missing. The complete side of the box opened rather than me having pull the "open" strip and the receipt in the box was stuck to the adhesive strip between the opening flap and the main box as if it had hurried replaced after removing an item. I immediately raised this issue with Hawes and Curtis Customer Support providing them with photographs of how the box had opened and the receipt being stuck between the opening flap and main box.
The response received was that they had packed all the items and hence they would not be responsible for anything after that, upon attempting to query this further Hawes and Curtis are now not responding to any emails.”
“Have to wait a long time for a refund, now three weeks and still no refund. Just received an email saying it is being processed. Won't be ordering again”
“Please Let Me Define Express
Express is not over 2 weeks.
Express is not sending via US Mail.
Express should not cost $20
Truly a horrid experience. Will never order from this company again. Terrible customer service. Supervisor (who apparently reports directly to the owner?!) cannot read a message. Company cannot send an email.
Return process seems to be in place to dissuade returns as does the rude employees.
Stay away from this company.”
“Never use this company for delivery. Takes 0% responsibility for items being securely delivered and then evasive when issue is raised. Am close to £200 out of pocket and they refuse a refund or re-delivery. Avoid them.”
“Returns process is truly awful, any lost items are just blamed on the customer. My item is not even lost and they blamed me and charged me.
DO NOT USE - AVOID”
“The best shirt you can get for the money
Honestly, for that price (I only buy on sale - so for 20 GBP a shirt) the shirts are fantastic and look like shirts for 100 GBP.
Details are great, everything looks upmarket, I cannot find anything that spoils these shirts.
Let the others buy more expensive shirts - they will regret it.
Please keep the quality up as it is !”
