"Bad experience" is a laughable understatement. As with previous reviewers, my mother, a long-time Hobbs customer, has been requesting for months to be reimbursed when Hobbs claims that reimbursement was made. Since that one response telling her that she was already reimbursed, no emails are being replied to. This is fraudulent practice, pure and simple, and leaves us no choice but to follow a legal route. Is it really the case that customers have to recruit lawyers in order to be reimbursed by Hobbs? This would be stressful enough without the fact that our mother is caring for our terminally ill father. Customers should never be left out of pocket like this.

Having returned an online item to a store and receiving a refund receipt, I have not been credited after 14 working days. The staff at the store have been very helpful but said they could not take the matter further and that I should contact customer services. Having done this I am left frustrated and feel that I am being given the run a round. Very disappointed 😞.

Still waiting for a £349 refund. Can’t seem to get any response from customer services. It has been almost a month now and I am very concerned about this.

I have been with Hobbs for more than 10 years, but in the last two years, the company has undergone significant changes. I have the same experience as the customers below; the customer service is non-existent. You cannot just contact them. But there is another problem - returns. If you send the return to them, in many cases they don't register that - so you need to contact them, which is impossible :), and you need not to lose the proof of sending it back from the post. So many of my returns were never acknowledged and I have never received my money back. Today, I have discovered another problem. I returned a dress in April , and I received an email confirming my return and the return of the money with the special bar code of the transaction. So I had the feeling of success. I tracked everything well and made sure the return was successful. But I have just discovered I have never received the money back into my account. Today, I finally managed to get somebody via chat (on the phone I have been disconnected) and the lady just apologised that they forgot to transfer the money despite the e-mail. So I can advise only on in-shop returns, as postal returns are hugely vulnerable to "mistakes", and this is quite common practice. I have now identified four items which I sent back and never received confirmation of return and money back. My life is busy, and I cannot track every position of my order - I will just stop buying with them, unfortunately. However, it is just so sad that such a respected company in the past turned to such scam methods on their clients, unthinkable.

I placed order with the expectation that it would arrive in early July, in time for a mid-July vacation. That timeline has long passed, and despite spending over $1,600, I have received neither the order nor any meaningful support. This experience has been deeply frustrating. I trusted this company to deliver on its promises. This situation is unacceptable.

I would give no stars if I could, can't get thru by phone to speak with a real person and then have to spend ages on pointless AI web chats. Thoroughly frustrating!

Ordered dress for next day delivery on 7/5/25. Checked 'tracking' information on 8/5/25. Still showing 'Awaiting pick up by courier'. Contacted Hobbs via online chat. Apologies given promised delivery following day 9/5/25. Checked 'tracking' again this morning status exactly the same 'Awaiting pick up by carrier' contacted Hobbs again via online chat same apology informed they would escalate to the carrier Evri to locate parcel & ascertain delivery time?? How can the carrier be responsible for the delay if the tracking states they have not picked the package up yet? Clearly still in the warehouse? I wish I'd read the online reviews for this company before ordering as this is not an isolated case but appears to be the norm? It is also reported that customers face long delays for refunds of orders not received after having to repeatedly contact the company for a refund. Appalling customer service please avoid ordering online from this company!

Dreadful Customer Service I ordered £426 of clothes more than 3 weeks ago. The courier EVRI claimed to have made an attempt to deliver and then tracking indicated that the parcel was lost. I raised online queries with both EVRI and Hobbs, which were acknowledged, but never updated. After more than 20minutes wait, I eventually spoke to someone in Customer Care who said they would recall the parcel from EVRI and refund the money, as they could not apparently send out another order (so I would have to reorder). I sent an email to the person who had sent the email, as some of the items had sold out, but no response. I did not receive any notification about the refund in more than a week either. Yesterday, I tried to phone again, but 2 calls were not answered after more that 20 minutes and neither were emails requesting an immediate refund. Eventually, I was able to contact online chat (also long wait). It appeared that no action had been taken and I was again told I would have to wait 3-5 days for a refund. I asked to speak to the manager, as this was not reasonable. The manager did not call back, but I do now have my money back. Hobbs customer care is the worst I have experienced and I don't believe I would have got my money back without extreme persistence. A total waste of time. I have been a loyal Hobbs customer over many years, but will never order online from them again. Ordered a dress online 5th April, 12 days on dress has still not been despatched. Contacted customer services numerous times. All they tell you is there is a delay in despatching my order. Useless I have run out of patience. Will never order again from Hobbs.

Your in store service is amazing - the staff in your Edinburgh store are suberb. Unfortunately your online service is shocking- i have now been waiting 6 weeks to find out why my order was shipped and then cancelled. Unable to speak to a person to resolve this and need to reorder the item with some urgency for a wedding.

I placed an online order on the 16th of Feb ‘25. The expected delivery time was 3-5 days. At the time of posting this review, I am still yet to receive my delivery. When I tried to ring customer service, the line advertised on the website as being open till 18:00, was closed at 16:45. When I tried the online chat function, there was no connection with an agent. The chat bot isn’t able to help with the query. My emails, have needed chasers before an apologetic response was received but with no clarity on when I would actually receive my order. Today 26th Feb, I rang customer service again, I was on hold for 47minutes, awaiting connection to a customer service agent. Once we connected, I got cut off twice and prior to an endpoint being reached. The agent did her best to be helpful but seemed to be reliant on a system (that is clearly not working). For now, I don’t have my order and there appears to be no clarity on when I can expect my order to be delivered. Clearly, there’s bigger problems afoot at Hobbs and this is unravelling through the organisation.

Will never order from them again. Stock issues meant the suit I ordered was not actually available but they sent one piece. Refund took a month to process, emails go unanswered and acknowledged. And while they promised to waive return shipping charges they did not and I’m back in an endless cycle of emails that go into the ether with no response. Awful customer service all around. Spend your money with anyone but these incompetent idiots.

The next day delivery service did not deliver. Only if a store dispatches the item does it arrive on time. However, orders coming from the warehouse take longer, making the next day delivery unreliable. The customer service team is responsive, but eventually my order was not delivered on the next day

APPALLING customer services. Have lost the will to live whilst waiting to speak to a real person and not be on a frustrating looped response. Ordered by mail and had awful trouble getting a full refund. Am still owed. Avoid mail order unless you're absolutely certain that you know the fit. No longer like the Hobbs of the past that I used to deal with.

I visited the new hobbs store at Blanchardstown. Peppi was amazing at helping me choose clothes to suit me. She was so kind and i l am delighted with my purchases. They are tailored so well

I visited your Horsham store and received the most outstanding service from your staff. Angela was particularly helpful. I had visited Shrewsbury in September and seen a plum coloured Ashley top. Angela went out of her way to help me find one in my size. She found one in a store at Lakeside then she telephoned the shop and asked the lady to see if she could find it. She then handed the phone to me and I was able to pay over the phone. The next day the top arrived at my address less than 24 hours later. I am totally overwhelmed by the service I received. Horsham is 40 miles away, however I will be returning there very soon because the customer service you get there is exceptional.
