“bought an item for E70 but when i used it a couple of weeks later it was not very good. i could not find my receipt so called their customer service team. the lady was polite and very helpful and after i gave her the relevant information she said she would send a letter confirming that i could take it back to the store for a refund. the letter arrived the next day. wish other companies customer service were so helpful and prompt.”
“Disappointed, went to Lidl to try and save some shopping charges. I tell, you Tesco is no worse and offer a more comprehensive choice. Most of Lidl foods are Ok but nothing special, in fact the reason I am writing this review is due to a purchase of “chef select Nasi Goreng rice”...absolutely awful, the bits of egg, ham and leek had no flavour, had to add sweet chilli sauce to give it a bit of a zing, it still needed up in the bin.!
Having been to Indonesia several times and eaten rijstaffel in Holland (where it came from)I can tell you any Indonesian chef would be ashamed..my advice is don’t waste your money.”
“Lidl, Coventry
Rude staff, no eye contact, they never make you feel welcome.
Rude, stupid, and unprofessional security guard.
The bakery section is absolutely disgusting, dirty tongs, and flies all over.”
“Appalling customer service. Why do you not publish all your reviews especially the poor ones? I posted one, you claim that you will send an email to verify the email address but don't and so the review is not published appalling behaviour. Sadly as you wont send an email to verify this review this one probably wont appear either!”
“I’ve been shopping at Lidl’s sometimes very bad customer service no eye contact they don’t greet the customer at the till the scan you items like robots they don’t give you time to pack your shopping and no please and thank you not even a smile they don’t even ask the customers do you need any bags customer service should be better than this they need more training there’s always long ques only 1 or 2 tills open you are waiting longer queuing up than be served at the tills . They looked miserable customers wants to see happy smiley faces a smile can go a long way”
“I shop at Lidl, Aldi, Tesco or Morrison’s. The nearest store is Lidl. Good value but the fruit and vegetables are shocking. Avocados - will never buy again as always bruised / inedible. I’ve just thrown away a mango as bruised / brown skin (wasn’t cheap). Carrots thrown away. Whoever is in charge / buyer / QC for this section needs to be moved on.”
“Your fresh vegetables don’t have much of a long life when I get them home
Just how long after you pick them do they appear in stores?
Why do you sell stuff that is only while stocks last ?
Can’t you get regular supplies”
“Prices are good but then you get to the till and every single cashier practically throws your shopping at you! Last visit an elderly lady in front was struggling to keep up and the cashier starting scanning my shopping whilst the poor lady was putting hers away. Cashiers are like robots, no personality, zero customer service and treat customers with contempt. Every store I’ve been in they are the same. Is this really the price we should pay for a few pence off our weekly shop!!”
“Pop into the Salisbury branch on the 27/04/2019. There was large pallets of food on shop floor , staff moving pallets around the shop floor and the floor area around the back of the tills had water and dirt on the floor. This’s all looked like a very dirty unkept shop.”
“Prices are good and they have interesting food sometimes. The minced beef is full of water whereas the frozen prawns have very little compared to a lot of shops that have loads of water and very little prawns. A few of the staff at Broadstairs are helpful and polite, one of them even says hello to regular shoppers but there are many that are very rude to customers. They talk to each other while serving customers; I have witnessed one arguing with a customer over whether something had been discounted or not. The way to do it would be to ask a colleague to assist the customer, for the colleague to go to the shelf where the customer saw the discount and deal with the issue politely. Lidl's training must be awful!”
“Not UK Lidl but Slovakia doesn't have a review site for Lidl.
They sell rotten parmesan cheese. This happened few times already. Well under the expiry date. Once the package is opened, one can immediately tell this is what is happening. And it's not cheap either. If they are capable of selling rotten cheese to people, I'm not certain what else they are capable of. I don't trust them anymore. Slovak state food regulatory body should pay them a visit a impose a hefty fine on them for such practices. MINUS 100 STARS”
“I’ve been to Lidl near Blackpool yesterday and I’ve got a bone of lamb I’ve opened the packet and it didn’t smell good so we’ve cooked it thinking nothing about it and we had it in the oven between 2 to 2 and half hours and after pulling it out the oven letting cool over night came to prepare it today for dinner and it smelled Evan awful so we looked at the packet and and it was covered with terminated blood so we went to take it back explained to the lady at the till and blood spilled on the cover belt so she had to stop other customers from putting anything on the cover belt as it’s terminated also the manager came out so we got hour money back for it so I’ll never again shop at Lidl or Aldi”
“Love the bakery at the new Lidl at Town St. Stanningley, and it is my reason for going. However, the last two weeks the shelves at the bakery have been almost empty. No croisants or pastries. Limited bread rolls. No paper bags to put bread in so they supply rolls of plastic veg bags - (for the past two weeks )
Come on Lidl, this is a new store. Pull your socks up or we won't be back. No fresh bakery then no customers!”
