“New points system is a joke. They had something decent going and it was the only reason I shopped there. Pure greed and a horrible change. Will bo longer be shopping there”
“I've just looked at the new points system. It's unbelievable, an utter joke!
Spend £165 and that gets you (...drum roll please..) frozen straight oven chips. £700 for pressed apple juice and £780 for a side of salmon.
Oh yeah! So for a 'free' meal of Salmon and chips (excluding the price to cook it) along with a glass of apple juice will only be...£1645.
Farewell good-bye it's time for me to gooo!”
“They pack a different sized product under the "Pick of the Week" banner so that you do not get the price on the banner
Raspberries advertised at £1.49 but the pack on sale is a different size to the offer advertised and you get charged £1.99.”
“I have lived in Britwell for 26 years and have been a loyal customer at the Lidl Farnham Road, Slough store since 2000. Today (27/04/2026), that loyalty was met with blatant racial profiling and harassment.
While checking out at Till 2 around 12:15 PM, Supervisor Ralph acted in a deceptive and aggressive manner. Without asking permission, he physically pulled our trolley toward him and began searching our personal bags. When my wife and I challenged this disrespectful behavior and asked if we were being racially profiled (we are of African descent), he was dismissive and told us, "Next you are going to call me racist." It is shocking that a Supervisor—someone who should be leading by example—would treat long-standing customers with such contempt.
What was even more disgraceful was the behavior of the Store Manager, Andy. He was at Till 1 and witnessed the entire confrontation. Instead of intervening or addressing the distress being caused to my family, he simply turned his back and ignored the situation. This lack of accountability from both the Supervisor and the Manager suggests that this discriminatory behaviour is part of the store's culture.
We even take the step of leaving our shopping bags from other stores in plain sight at the checkout to be transparent, yet we are still targeted and treated like criminals. Being dehumanised in front of our children is unacceptable. We are not looking for compensation; we want to be treated with dignity. A formal complaint has been lodged with the Head Office.”
“No chocolate or egg chocolate that was on 50% offer(offer that started yesterday for eggs and today for chocolate)-Midday went shopping and no products. The majority of the times the products with offers are not in store.”
“I visited Lidl in Blairgowrie recently. They had a gate at the back of the checkouts where you had to scan a receipt to get out. When I discussed it with the checkout operator, she said it was because of thefts.
The man in front of us bought a bag of flour in order to get out of the shop. The scanner doesn't scan your bag so you could have any number of things in it. This is not to stop thieves but just another control mechanism of people. I would love to know how much it costs each store as opposed yo how much is lost through stealing.
If my local Lidl implement this, I will absolutely take my custom elsewhere. Such a horrible way to treat people.
My argument with the company is that they are happy to treats all their customers now as potential thieves in order to try to catch the few.”
“I got fined £90 for taking more than 90 minutes doing my shopping and spending £137- 26p in a large store at Gainsborough when I got my letter I had only 2 days to appeal so I paid the £45 so I won’t be shopping at Lidl and what makes this bad for me is I am 80 years old have disability problems heart problems and having to keep explaining myself again again and again it’s easier for me not to shop at Lidl and advise people to be very weary for shopping at Lidl with this unjustified fines”
“Hi. I have to call this out , as I did with the cashier serving me and the young lady manager who came over.
The lady service on the checkout to the left of me, facing the front of the store, with a Christmas jumper on, went through 5 customers, while I was there, COUGHING into her hand. No attempt was made to sanitise her hands on each occasion, where she immediately handle foods and packets of customers !
I was so applauded by what I witnessed, I swapped over to the right of me checkout, in disgust. It was while I was being served I asked the gentleman serving me if he could call a shift manager which he promptly did. I proceeded to explain my findings to the Manager who seemed to take note, but, from what a friend of mine behind in the same isle observed, 2 people went through, same issue and NO sign of the cashier being made aware of their actions.
I don't think it needs me to point out the current NHS situation regarding Flue and Covid, of which I witnessed hundreds of people becoming infected in much the same way, as I am First Responder. How quickly people forget BASIC hygiene and put others at risk.
I sincerely hope you will take action regarding this by having a word with ALL your staff and presenting each cashier with a hand sanitiser for any such events.
The other issue is being over charged. I looked upon my online receipt when I arrived home, to find I'd been over charged 5 times. x4 on mushrooms reduced to 47p x 4 = £1.88 and x1 on butter/spread Shelf labelled @ 1.99 but charged £2.18. It may seem like a petty amount but its NOT the first time one of your stores has had to be corrected by myself while there. Due to the hygiene issue above, I just wanted to get out of the store.
Can you please rectify all of the above.
Many thanks for your time. Andy Williams A loyal customer.
PS.. Also a VERY problematic time trying to email them, almost seems deliberately awkward so you dont file your complaint.”
“I recently stopped shopping at Lidl. The quality of the products has dropped dramatically. The meats, salami, and sausages are fatty. The salami has a lot of fat that wasn't there before. The quality of the beef patties has also deteriorated. The meat is sometimes overly salty and has a foul odor. The quality of the vegetables and fruit is terrible; they're inedible. Most of the fruit is practically unripe. Peaches and plums are hard, and the apples don't taste good, they just look pretty, nothing more.”
“Bought 2 hand blenders which I had to return. Lost receipt so knew wasn’t entitled to refund But to not allow me to exchange for something else is very upsetting as I am now £50 out of pocket. Will be two days without heating to cover it. No other store does this. Shopped at Lidl every day for years and spent a lot there but won’t darken their doors ever again. So Stupid decision on their part economically”
“Was spoken very rudely to by a tall slim male in Corstorphine branch his manner was absolutely terrible other customers who heard the way he spoke were shocked by his manner I complained to customer service but typically was swept under carpet avoid store at all cost.”
“Today I was shopping in Stratford Lidl store and came across the staff
name Nilesh was so rude I asked for help and he didn't help at all. Also, he was talking about me with another customer behind my back and pointed at me even right front of the manager. I think it was very unprofessional and why would lidl would allow their staff treat their customers like this”
“Satsumas green mould inedible, advocados totally rotten inedible, carrots slimy inedible ,and Lemons mouldy inedible..ALL WENT IN THE BIN . Disgraceful”
“Chef Select family size steak and gravy pie.
Cooked well in Airfryer. Pie looked great.
Four hungry people to feed. Cut open pie and the smell was horrible and odd. I was the only one who tried it, didn't taste bad a little chewy but typical of this price point. Second mouthful was just gristle and inedible.
I gave the rest of the filling to our dog who ate it all happily, but he is a labrador.
Have to say I usually buy the small individual frozen meat pies in Lidl and they have been fine.
I won't buy these again.”
“Peckham store. Usual rude staff but most Dores have rude unprofessional staff, rarely do u get great staff at Lidl. Sainsbury's much much better staff, very professional, polite and happy to assist customers, as their reputation is extremely important.”
“Just purchased a Parkside Jigsaw Table, can’t believe anyone did a risk assessment as it’s dangerous considering taking it back but I’m certain it will be more trouble than it’s worth”
