I visited this place because of a nail (screw) in my tyre. First of all you must spend sometime outside until someone comes and asks what you want. Secondly, this young lad started checking the tyre to look for the nail but couldn’t see it as it was possibly in the part beneath the wheel. Then this same lad snapped my wheel bolt lock while trying to open the last bolt. All of sudden, it turned out that whoever changed the tyre before made really tight (common sense: if that’s really the case he should have informed me and stoped opening it up not to break it as he did). Next, after managing to get the wheel out while burning some of the tire, this young lad said that they cannot repair the wheel as the nail is on the edge and the whole tyre must be replaced. Because I need the car to go to my job daily I said yes. Finally, they changed the tyres while waiting in the cold outside for over an hour, charged me extra money for price of the tyre (which I checked to be 75£ fully fitted, they charged me £82.5), placed normal bolts in the new tyres so they are not secure from stealing anymore and finally did not compensate me for breaking my bolt key which costs £35. In summary, I visited this shop to pay maximum £20 for removing a nail, I ended up paying £175 for tyres, a broken bolt key, and unsecured tyres. I was simply ripped off!! I rarely write reviews online but as I depended on the reviews to go to this shop, please take this review seriously and avoid at all costs to go to them.

National tyres Livingston replaced 4 tyres on my car this morning. No problems having this done and it was done very quickly. I drove home and took the locking wheel nut key out of the box to remove a wheel for a brake disc to be changed and the locking wheel nut key had been rounded off (stripped) no longer grips the bolt. I can only assume that National Tyres used an impact gun with the lovk key and this has caused the damage. (The locking key was fine beforehand as they managed to change all 4 tyres) I drove back to National tyres (Livingston) and asked the front desk agent politely if they wouldn't mind removing the locking wheel bolts from the car fro me as they were the ones who put them on.... The very rude and arrogant desk agent told me that I had caused this damage myself??? He then told me it's not there responsibility and asked me to leave!! Absolutely shocking service!! I expect to have National tyres remove these 4 locking bolts for me or replace the lock key which they damaged!!

National Tyres in Byfleet recommended over the phone to replace perfectly fine front discs saying they were thinner than the legal limits. My car passed the MOT just few miles earlier and there was no mention or recommendation about the discs. I decided to check the discs with an independent garage and they confirmed that the discs are well within the legal requirements. I don't trust National Tyres. They try to make money recommending to replace perfectly fine parts! I will never go there anymore.

Booked car in at Brownhills for front wheel tracking with a half price discount voucher £15. They went out to start it, came back in within minutes and said cant do it until two new tyres are fitted. Said I needed to look online, order tyres and re book an appointment to have them fitted and tracking done. Within 10 minutes went to a local competitor, greeted with a free coffee, car straight on ramps and tracking done perfect. Wouldn't dream of using them again. Only efficiency to give praise for was dealing with my refund

They are simply rude.took the car to the Hassocks NT, there was no good morning, nothing. They had a look at the tyre and quoted me £320 for a new one! At this point I made it very clear that I was not prepared to be ripped off.Next quote:£180. I will never go back there and I again.

FRAUD. Had my car tracked twice by them within the 30day guarantee, both times the tracking was out, took it to Kwik fit to finally have it done properly. No refund given. Recommended work which was not required as advised by kwik fit. Don't bother with national tyres, they will rob u. Not carry out suitable work and advice repairs not required!!! STAY WELL CLEAR!!!! I work in customer care myself, terrible service by National, go to KWIK FIT INSTEAD! regional manager didnt call and still hasn't. Very rude

THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICES IVE EVER HAD TO DEAL WITH... HAD TO CALL THE POLICE... I went to the Watford branch for a simple oil change.. Booked it in a week before my date... Was greeted with rudeness at the reception.. was told it would take an hour... I returned an hour and a half later to find my car had not been done + my car was sat on the ramp with my engine left ruining wasting my fuel while they sorted other people's cars out... also checked my camer in the car which showed the driver playing with my music starting and stopping songs.. turning the sound up full blast and the sound of then rusting thru my property... DONT LEAVE ANYTHING VALUABLE IN YOUR CAR! I was greeted with serious attitude when I asked if my car was ready yet... Was told it was going to take a further hour for the job to be completed.. I said that's unacceptable and wanted a refund then the man ran off to which I had to walk after him to politely ask him to turn my engine off... he shouted at me and totally ignored my request and continued to ignore me... it was very clear the guys in this garage was completing everyone else's jobs even tho my job had been booked in over a week before... I asked one of the other guys to Please turn my engine off and he said yes but the other man who was ignoring me stopped him and said no don't turn it off and at this point I felt trapped and intimidated being a female on my own and knew they would do anything they could to prevent me from getting my car back so I called the police... PLEASE BE CAREFUL USING THIS GARAGE THEY DONT CARE ABOUT DOING YOUR JOB ON TIME AND DONT EXPECT A CALL FROM THEM IF THEY HAVEN'T STARTED YOUR CAR ON TIME AND THEY WILL TRY AND PREVENT YOU FROM GETTING YOUR CAR BACK AND THEY WILL GO THROUGH YOUR CAR AND LOOK AT YOUR PRIVATE BELONGINGS

I ordered 4 New MICHELIN Primacy 4 on the 18th Nov 20 to be fitted at Orpington branch on the 19th Nov 20. I went to remove the flat tyre and fit the spare so that I could take the car to the branch. I could not remove the wheel nuts so could not take the car to the branch, I contacted them and was advised that they would book me in with a mobile fitter, I was then contacted by the branch to say I was being transferred to the Croydon mobile fitter and that my tyres would be sent to Croydon for fitting on Monday 23rd Nov 20, between 08.30 and 13.00, at 13.00 I received a Phone calling informing me that they were unable to come today as the tyres from Orpington had been sent to another branch and been sold, they could not get my tyres would I accept another make. I told them no, they then found the correct make and size but with a higher speed rating which I accepted, these would fitted on Wednesday 25th Nov 20, after 13.00. The fitter came and I showed him the in my garage and explained to the difficulty in removing the wheel nuts especially the locking nut, he stated that using a air gun on locking nuts they break, he removed the locking nuts with a bar and the rest of the nuts with a gun. He change the tyres and used a gun to tighten them including the locknuts. I decided to purchase a breaker bar and socket to use should I need to remove a wheel in the future on received the bar and socket and tested it on a wheel nut, I could not undo any of the nuts on my car, I was back where I had started, I am aged 77 and not in the best of health and do not need to struggle changing a flat tyre. I fitter did not tighten the wheel nuts to the correct setting of 180lft and did not torque up any of the wheel nuts. He did not adhere to any of the Covid requirements, no mask, no hand cleaning, or cleaning of areas that he had touched on my car. I now have to take my car to a garage to get the wheel nuts dealt with, IT WILL NOT BE NATIONAl TYRES. I hope this helps others.

After having spent lot of money every time I visited the branch in Basildon with new set of new tyres for my Vehicle/s; this time I took advantage while there with a vehicle for another set of new good tyres to have/book an MOT done to another car of mine in the same time. I witnessed my Car being abused by the MOT examiner as to try to come out with faults; it took the longest MOT examination in history that I had been booking / observing for. At the end it failed on tyres for the futile reasons; not to mention a “scroll” list of “Advisories” of defect for a car of 30.000 miles on the clock. I could not believe it. So I was made to pay for new set of tyre as to have the car with a valid MOT. I did show my disappointment about it only to be told that the “Examiner is doing his job”. In short that day I spent a tot of £600 for 6 tyres for two cars I booked in the branch that morning. I think they do not want good costumers. No more National tyres for the rest of my driving career.

Following an advisory on vehicles MOT on Mid Oct and a puncture on the offside rear at the end of Oct, booked the vehicle in Mid Nov for 4x Primacy 4’s. Had absolutely no problems with the tyres or rims up to the booking. Only time the low pressure warning light had come on was when the puncture happened. RAC came out repaired puncture & checked rest of tyres whilst there. Upon arrival at the Dorchester National Tyres & Autocare, I was challenged as to why I hadn’t purchased run-flats, then why hadn’t I purchased a spare. I was offered “free tracking check” but it would cost £30 if it was out by 0.01 When told that I had wear on the tyres I said I knew (hence getting them changed!). The roller door was lowered in my face after being told that the person had 25 years in the business & I didn’t. Short while after sitting in reception was told that the offside front and near side rear rims were cracked and that my new tyres would be flat within minutes if I didn’t get them repaired. I questioned this as the car had been perfectly fine up to that appointment. I live on a farm, my vehicle is rarely clean. When the employee came back with rim & tire to show me, the crack was white, clean and new. He then proceeded to tell me the dust in the tire was a result of the crack. When I pointed out to him that the tire he had was on the offside rear and the dust was the result of the puncture repair. He became defensive & argumentative and vanished off round the back with the rim & tire. After another short while he came back into reception and said he tried to put some paste on the rims. Needless to say I was not happy at all. They put the cracked rims on the rear of the car, set the tire pressure to 60 PSI and I was sent on my merry way home (15 mile journey). I had to stop 4 times to re-inflate the rear tyres. My car is now sat at home with four brand new Michelin Primacy 4’s, two of which are flat as a pancake due to the damage maliciously caused by the Dorchester branch. I am remote, I rely heavily on a vehicle to go anywhere, shops, doctors etc. I never received the “free tracking check”, as it seems they wanted me to fork out for new rims due to the damage they deliberately caused whilst my car was in their custody, which was a large pay check than the £30. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Shocking customer service at the Grimsby branch, was told that the quote we were given, four tyres to be fitted at £10 per wheel was in fact not what we should of been charged and that we must know the manager to get this price, the employees at the garage were rude and disrespectful to us in every way. One of the staff even said he’d rather be at home than be at work.. not happy and never go to National again

I will never come back for any service. I had an appointment at 10am, I have arrived at 9.45am, and asked in how much time should i return, they said they will call me, I have asked for a rough figure, 1h45-2h because they have to finish another car, i've came up after 1h45min they just taken the car to change the oil, i've spent almost 2h30min in a miserable wheather. Worst customer experience ever.

Took Honda CRV in for tracking to be told they couldn't do it and would need to have the bottom arm replaced first as I must have hit something. Told them to just leave it and I would take the car. Following week booked in at local independent garage carbon ramps absolutely no sign of any bent bottom arm and tracking done immediately. Complete con artists. Bridlington East Yorkshire

Dear Sir/Madam, I brought my car YG59NKU for MOT test on 29th September to the Poole Branch. My car failed on: Offside Rear Inner Brake pad(s) less than 1.5 mm thick (1.1.13 (a) (ii)); Nearside Headlamp light intensity severely reduced (4.1.4 (a)); Offside Front Coil spring fractured or broken (5.3.1 (b) (i)). I took the car to a different garage for a repair. I have changed rear brake pads and brake caliper, front coil spring and also changed the headlamp (bought a new one in EuroCarParts). I returned on 1st October for a retest and I was charged 27 pounds and again failed, tester told me that the lamp is not brand new and he is not able to adjust the headlamp aim down. So I took my car to a different MOT station and they did not have any problem with adjusting the lamp. I asked Poole branch for a retest and they said it will be a full MOT now. I told them that they were wrong and my headlamp is completely good and they were cheating on me and I want a free retest or a refund of money spent with them but they said “NO”. So I took the car to a different place and it passed MOT without any issues. I paid for MOT tests 35 and 27 pounds to National Tyres and Autocare in Poole and 50 pounds with a different garage.

Mot last year (Oct 2019) advisory was front brake pads would need replacing soon. Due to family issues was not able to have this done at that time so it got left until March this year. Normally use NT Denton Manchester branch but due to circumstance, used Dukinfield branch Instead. After pad replacement informed me that Rear Tyres Disks and pads were very worn and needed replacement, and gave me a quote well north of £400. Sceptical, I refused to authorise the work and left. Just had my 2020 MoT. Advisories? None! Nothing wrong with Tyres Disks or Pads. We see lots of warnings in the press about online scammers, so a warning to you all about the offline scammers at the Dukinfield branch is appropriate I think.

Absolutely shocking experience with National Tyres Farnborough! I went to get my wheel alignment done there and they made it worse than it was when I went in!! The steering wheel was at the 3 o’clock position when meant to be straight!! They took it for a test drive before giving me it and he said it was perfectly fine, so they are lyes and will damage your Car. It cost me more money to go to another garage which gave me a brilliant service! Avoid at all costs! Staff don’t care and there incompetent at there job!! I hope they get shut down!!!

My car passed its MOT with a reputable MECHANIC , however a month later I had issues with a flat battery and made the mistake of taking it to national auto, battery was installed (£100), however I was advised the tyres needed replacing, booked in for new tyres (£400)advised that the brake pads were worn and would need doing. Took my car to the garage who had initially carried out the MOT only to be told that the brakes had been replaced as parts were already ordered (£200), however, they were half worn, just needed a clean and deglaze, also that had there been an issue with the tyres or the brake pads, they would have picked them up on the MOT. Not to mention the added charges due to the fact national tyres had tightened one of the wheels so tightly, it took almost 40 minutes to get the wheel off.Having worked throughout the course of the covid19 situation, the car is essential so the work was what I thought, essential, I stupidly took national tyres for a reputable company but now see they lie about work required, and take advantage of customers who rely on them to be honest and fair. Stick to fitting tyres...although it doesnt even sound like you're good at that either!!
