Don't use National tyres ,took my car to the Bolton branch for wheel alignment before I went checked all tyres. All ok took it down to the branch left it with them came back 1 hour later was told I need 4 new tyres I had a buckled alloy all due to a side wall impact I had no damage when I left it with them I do know they took it out for a test drive. So I blame a fitter it has just cost me £206.95 to get it back on the road as for the wheel alignment don't think it was done. here's some photos of the damage. J Shields

I went to National Tyres, West Bromwich yesterday at 4.15 p.m. to have a tyre changed. There was absolutely nobody there, all the bays were empty. Two members of staff were eating their McDonalds lunch in the reception area and the manager who was standing behind the reception desk spoke to me and told me I couldn't have the tyre changed there and then but had to make an appointment due Covid19 and social distancing rules. What a joke, social distancing rules, and yet they had no screen at the reception desk claiming it was because it had broken. I made an appointment for the following day, i.e.today at 4.00 p.m., I got there at 3.55 p.m. and waited in the reception area with another lady who told me they couldn't do her job because they ordered the wrong parts so she had to come back again. At 4.10 p.m. I went to one of the bays and reminded the person about my 4.00 p.m. appointment and he said they are all working and I had to wait. At 4.20 p.m. the chap came into the reception area and spoke to the other lady, gave her car keys and totally ignored me and went off somewhere. Five minutes later he came back and asked me to drive the car into the last bay. This was at 4.25 p.m. As I was driving slowly into the last bay I asked him if that was the bay he wanted me to be in and then he asked me whether its the front or the back tyre. I again repeated whether I was in the correct bay and he repeatedly asked me, at least three times, if its the front or the the back tyre. I said to him "can you please answer my question" "am I in the correct bay"? He said rather angrily that depends whether its the back or front tyre you want changing" "the front" I told him, so he tells me to carry on driving forward. There were an awful lot of tyres strewn half way across this particular bay and there was very little room to manoeuvre forward so I was going ever so slowly to avoid driving over one of the tyres. As I stopped and tried to get out of my car I noticed my door would not open as it was catching on the metal pillar post on my right, so I moved the car forward a couple of more inches at which point the guy raised his voice because I think he thought I was about to hit one of the tyres lying on the floor. I gave him the locking nuts, told him which tyre needed changing even though I was there the previous day and the manager knew which tyre needed to be done, and asked him nicely to balance the wheel too. He said that he would as that goes hand in hand with a new tyre. I waited outside and when the manager came into the reception I went in to pay. The guy who did my tyre came in eight minutes later, sat down, stared at me and started eating something. He told me the car is ready and mumbled something about the locking nuts. As I approached my car I saw the locking nuts lying on the floor by my car. Being as they are following the Covid19 rules NOT, I would have thought they would at least offer to wipe down the locking nuts compartment after they handled it, apologise for starting my job half an hour later, or at least drive my car into and out of the bay instead of speaking to me in an almost aggressive manner as if I am some sort of idiot. As I drove my car to pick up a learner driver which I was late for, I noticed the car was pulling slightly and the wheel seemed as if it was not correctly inflated. Later I looked at my camera and found the guy did not go anywhere near the machine where they normally balance the wheels, therefore he lied about this being part of the service and I shall check the tyre later as I am sure he has pumped it up past the 30 lb limit probably to teach me a lesson simply because I reminded that I had in fact had an appointment with them at 4.00 p.m. and not 4.30 p.m., and because I kept asking him if I was in the bay he wanted me to be in. I have used National Tyres for at least 10 years but will from now on go to ATS tyres around the corner.

WHEEL ALIGNMENT SCAM, CHARGE YOU BUT DON'T DO IT! THEY CHARGE YOU FOR WHEEL ALIGNMENT AND DON'T DO IT, EASY £30 A CAR FOR THEM Car was booked in online at the Horsham branch for two front tyres and a wheel alignment due to the old tyres wearing heavily on the inside edges causing them to be changed. When dropping the car off i made sure to let them know the alignment needed doing due to the heavy wear on the inside edges. Upon picking the car up i asked how far the alignment was out to which the Technician replied, "it was out by 3 degrees and its now been adjusted for you" when driving home the car was still pulling all over the road, once i arrived home i checked the tie rods to see if the alignment had not been done and to my surprise there was no evidence of spanners being anywhere near the adjustment rods. I reviewed my vehicles dash cam which showed my car driven into a bay with the 4 poster alignment ram to the left, the front tyres were replaced and then it was reversed out back into a parking space, never went near the alignment machine. To add i took the car to another garage to check the car to which they found the alignment to be miles out of spec and the tie rods seized in place showing they hadn't been touched in years. Customer service is useless and the regional manager just palmed us off saying its being investigated, it was just a mistake and i have received a goodwill gesture not a refund of £25!!!!!! wheel alignment is £30. DO NOT USE THEM, this is clearly a scam they carry out to increase profits, bonuses and figures at the branches. I worry about how many people they have charged for wheel alignment and haven't touched it. I have progressed onto Trading Standards and The Insolvencey Service and will being speaking with the papers along with BBC watchdog

Total rip off. I was quoted £140.00 to replace a front coil spring I got the part from a shop at a cost of £15.99 and phoned another garage I've got the same job done for £55.00. And the garage was not a back street garage.

Had oil change done at Reading branch. It was still dirty and dark after they changed the oil. It would seem that they did not empty all of the dirty oil out. The oil does not look much different than before the oil change. It should look like a light transtudent colour when new oil is replaced. Would not recommend them for any oil changes. I paid £54.75 which is cheap for an oil change so I guess you get what you pay for. I asked for a refund but they denied any wrong doing and was not prepared to refund me and we're very rude when I challenged them over this.and vertually put the phone down on me.

I dropped the car off at 8.30 at the Bishop Stortford branch on Saturday, just as they opened up. I was second in line and was told it would take about 45mins, which even then I thought was quite a long time to change one tyre. We went for a coffee and returned at 9.15 to find them still working on it. I eventually got my car back at 9.50! How can it take 1hour 20mins to change one tyre?! The garage was not even busy and we sat and watched two mechanics standing chatting while we waited. I received no apology or explanation for why it took so long. I will need the others changing at some point but, sorry, it won't be with National Tyres. I also had an email through asking for my experience but strangely twice it was unable to be delivered?

Went in to get some new tyres put on, that all went fine and the tyres were put on without a fuss or issue. When they brought the car back out I noticed they hadn't done the tracking on the car, so they took the car back in to do the tracking. When the car came back out, it had 3 DENTS IN IT AND THE BACKLIGHT WAS BROKEN!! I pointed this out to them immediately, and they claimed they didn't do it and they had no CCTV to prove this either. I was told I needed to write a complaint email which I have done and have been told I will be contacted by the regional manager, which hasn't happened and I receive no call back when I try to call them.

I had MOT done and failed on a rear droplink. I was advised to have it replaced as well as have the tracking done as it is a new part. I waited for it to be done, never saw them do the tracking although they said it was done. I phone Honda and asked them if tracking needed to be done and they said it was not nessesary if replacing the drop link. National do MOT for half price, but make up for it in repairs. Droplink is only £20 but to fit is £85 and £30 for wheel alignment which was not required.

Got 4 new tyres - prior to this my wheel alignment felt completely fine, no shuddering, even wear on the tyres etc. so I didn't pay for it to be aligned/have the tracking done. After having the new tyres fitted, anything over 60mph felt like I was sitting on top of a washing machine. On top of this, I kept getting a flat tyre warning on one of my new tyres so I called and the car was taken back in, with a faulty valve being the culprit. I also decided to pay for a tracking check, which I was assured was done. However yet again, as soon as I went over 60mph, the shuddering started right through the whole car, to the point that the mirror for the child seat fell off. AVOID AT ALL COSTS - I will be taking my car somewhere else to have the tracking done, I got scammed out of £30 as I'm sure they didn't even look at it. Don't fall for good prices - go somewhere and pay for a decent service.

Entered registration online to get the right tyres for my car. The site stated options from which I chose from. Got to the Norwich Dereham Road branch only to be told that this was not appropriate tyre for my car and I should have understood what RF (in small type) was that had been put next to the botom of the page description. I as not offered similar price tyre but only offered a tyre twice the price. I asked for a refund that I am hopefully going to get processed. Wasted Sunday afternoon without much service. I am now at a competitor tyre service and getting what I asked for. Can't give more than 1 star and that is based on hoping that National Tyres can process a repayment right online.

Absolutely horrid service. The staff members are extremely rude and lazy and the manager could not even be bothered to show up for work. The staff could not even carry out a simple tyre replacement as they were not trained to carry out the paper work. Had to pay extra because the employees were not properly trained on the guarantee procedure. Reported the issue to customer services but the issue still isn't rectified. Definitely do not recommend going here.

Pushy, pressured, argumentative. Tried to sell me four tyres when I needed one. The technique is so well worn you can see them running through it. When I say 'no' to junior guy he says I'll have to talk to the manager (why?). 'Manager' (joke) wants me to go to the shop floor so he can show me that the tread on my tyres is well above the required limit. When I disagree and cite government guidelines, he points at a chart to show that they recommend replacing them. Finally gives up saying he won't argue with me. Too late, you already did. Why oh why can't mechanics be honest? Never again. Felt quite sick afterwards.

Reception Staff member was abrupt and unwelcoming, especially at check in. If I hadn't paid upfront via Tyre Shopper I would have walked out! A welcoming smile costs nothing, but it cost them a £5 tip!! This is the second unwelcoming experience during the course of a year that I have had at the Bexleyheath Branch, if they are that unhappy in their job they should leave.

Had my tyres done 4/5 months ago and wheel alignment in the Croydon/Purleyway branch when I went for an mot I found out the front two tyres where way below the legal limit! On the inner side!!!! i couldn’t understand how Bridgestone premium quality could worn out so quickly went to a different National branch the guy there said the alignment is really bad and that the branch where I done it hadn’t done a good job.complained to head office about the poor workmanship they logged in a complaint five minutes later received an email they do not except any Responsibility, they might have competitive prices but they are rubbish at what they do. NEVER USE THEM AGAIN

Poor service, rude and overly pushy. Tried to push me into replacing 2 perfectly good tyres with lots of life left in them. I'd just had mot done and replaced a track rod end. Was only there for a wheel alignment. Complained to head office and they said they were sorry. Rubbish experience. Avoid.

My 2006 Agila was making an awful noise from the exhaust. Took it to my nearest National Tyres. They jacked it up, looked at the exhaust and said the bolts holding the exhaust to the engine were corroded. The mechanic said I needed a complete new exhaust? There was nothing wrong with the exhaust it was the bolts. They said It had to be a complete exhaust. The mechanic then phoned round to find the exhaust but could only find the back part but then found the front part from another place but delivery would take 48 hours. If it came in two parts why did i need the whole exhaust? He then said it would cost £248 (after 20% off) I asked him if he could do a temporary repair till the parts came in, he said no. Five minutes later I drove into another garage nearby. There a mechanic replaced the bolts for free. It took him ten minutes. I then looked on line for the exhaust parts for my car. The average price was around £70 for the complete exhaust. As National told me it would take less than an hour to replace the exhaust that meant an hours labour would have cost me £178. The moral of the story is...dont use National!!

AVOID AVOID AVOID. We took our fiesta for an MOT and service at Cambridge branch 17th April 2019. Left overnight in their care only to find a massive scratch on the drivers door (18th April 2019). They are denying all knowledge and saying it was already there!! They won't do anything. oh and they also overpriced a quote for tyres compared to a local outlet (approx 15%-20% mark up). They use a 'price match' as an excuse but clearly go in high the hoping people just don't check. Not nice. Partner is 7 months pregnant and I assume they thought she was an easy target. You've been warned.

If there was a option for giving them 0 stars I would. The branch I visited was in Borehamwood.I went for oil change and MOT.I had appointment and when I went there I waited for 2.5 hours to finish the MOT.Then I was told that MOT is failed and they can't change the oil as they don't have it as well as the filter which I bought online with the booking and they supposed to have it(what if the MOT passed). The MOT was failed apparently because I needed to change front arm of my car.I went to garage for repair which cost me 150.The mechanic said to me that the part he replaced was in very good condition so no need of replacement.Next I went there again and told them that I have replaced the part which was totally fine. The guy there said just OK.He made me appointment for next week for oil change and MOT.I went there again and left the car with them. Then again 2 hours waiting and when i asked them how long for oil to be changed they said that are still waiting for it and should come any soon(two weeks already).Three times booked appointment and never got the job done. This place is total waste of time and money and very poor customer service. So definitely I would NOT going back there.
