On, 29th July 2019, I had a very bad experience at Poundland, Lewisham (London). While I was paying at the counter, one of the staff (who assists customers) asked me "From where did you purchase the frisbee?" I said "ASDA" and then she, with a very big smile asked if she can cross-check. I asked if she thinks I stole it then she with the same smile said "MAY BE". I do not understand how a staff can even think someone would steel an old frisbee. And what does she mean by "MAY BE"? I was so upset with the words she was using with a BIG SMILE. She did not even respond properly when I asked "What would you do if that is not POUNDLAND'S property. And the worst part was she did not even APOLOGISE. I really don't understand why customers are treated this way. I wonder how Poundland can treat customers like theives. THE ONLY THING I EXPECTED WAS AN 'APOLOGY' BEFORE EVEN ASKING ME IF SHE CAN CHECK MY FRISBEE - WHICH DID NOT HAPPEN.  SO UPSETTING.

Bought a jumpsuit on Monday to big, retuned on Saturday told I couldn't return or exchange with no receipt. When outside the store found the receipt in the bag, went back in told by a very rude assistant that I couldn't have refund has they don't put money on card! Ok. Had to purchase goods I didn't want. The sales assistant or cashier was very rude and in need of some training. When outside the lady in the queue in front of me asked if I were ok has the assistant were rude to her also. Will never shop Bridgend poundland again. Very poor customer service.

Great! About time!! Good for Morrisons. Don't hold your breath for Poundland to follow suit though. Read below from Daily Mail. Just a tiny bit of a big article...........Now, one of the big four supermarkets is bringing back staff at 1,000 ‘express’ checkouts in response to shopper anxiety about using the self-scan tills. The move is part of a drive by Morrisons to improve personal service and win back shoppers who have deserted to no-frills budget stores like Aldi and Lidl.

Poundland ARE responsible for your frying pan. I GTEE you this 100%. No need for legal advise really. The best thing to do with Poundland is never to go there. Seen all their self service checkouts? Still the same prices though. One thing about Poundstretcher is that they do not use self service. Go there instead. Put your feet down people and demand a discount for serving yourself.

Purchased a £1 saucepan and £1 frying pan purely for their small size, ideal for 1. The saucepan worked no problem. The frying pan melted and has ruined my cooker. I rang Poundland's head office, sent photos and everything else they asked for. The label on the frying pan did not say not suitable for induction, which cookware always does. But they said they are not responsible. I will be seeking legal advise. Not happy with 'not our problem' attitude and how come the saucepan worked no problem.

Went to the Burton on Trent store today, horrific checkout service and obnoxious staff. Half a dozen checkouts, one operating, self service monitored by one member the other in the one operating checkout. Made comment reference the lengthy queue, greeted by shoulder shrugging and couldn't care less. Management should be ashamed!

Imagine sacking someone after 12 years of service, suppose to be a family store and a great place to work. We'll please explain the dismissal of my mother after 12 years over a carrier bag. The appeal will take place, and we will be seeking legal advice, this is a disgrace and one that want just go away.

Stay away from this company with their new policy of self service checkouts. We do NOT pay to serve ourselves and the queues are horrendous to do so. Mostly rude staff who think we have no right to ask to be served by a person. What a confounded cheek. I, and others I know, have stopped going there and go instead to other similar stores including Pound Stretcher who sell similar products.

The store manager whom left the branch at Peterborough Hereward Cross, when putting my interest in supervisory, because that was the work ethic I had put in in the 4 years of loyalty and hard work I had put in, whom promised me training and the next supervisor Job would be mine, - nothing happened, and other staff r employees were trained on the job, this knocked my confidence down, and the manager who fleed, treated me like I was nothing, but just a colleague who had to work fast and carry everyone else whom were incompetent of the jobs. I was relied on to get the jobs all done. In my career, I didn't get no training on the job and the manager made up misleading facts to fiction.

I went into the Bingley branch in West Yorkshire and selected a can of coke, price marked on the can in print at 55p. When I got to the till, I was told I had to pay a pound for it, or could have 2 at that price. I got told by the store manager they don't sell at marked prices. The price was marked very clearly, in print, not stuck on, as 55p. YOU HAVE TO SELL IT AT THAT PRICE YOU THICK IDIOTS, IT'S THE LAW YOU DUMB THICKO'S! Don't you just hate it when some American company tries to flout UK law?

Very rude staff at the Plymouth branch. We went to do our shopping and my partner left the store as he needed to use the toilet. They accused him of shoplifting. In the meantime as my back was turned one of the staff walked off with our shopping. I asked another member of staff he denied anything. When my partner returned he asked to see the manager. We were escorted our of the store by the staff. We are very angry to be accused of shoplifting and treated this way as we have been shopping in Poundland for many years. We will never be entering any of their stores again!
