Dudley River Island so rude when Thursday with granddaughter I asked if she could use changing rooms try some clothes on item didn't fit her so when she get a smaller size for her to try on one of the staff room passed me saying she needed help because somebody was acting suspicious by the counter felt like she was talking about me made me feel so uncomfortable as I asked if I could use changing room and showed her what I was taking in there if she wasn't talking about me she shouldn't have been shouting that in the first place on Friday I have to change one item as granddaughter change her mind the lady who said me didn't smile didn't greet me just stood there looking miserable also coughing and sneezing also cleaning lady was there mopping the floor should have done that when shop was shut avoid Dudley river Island's so Rudy me he they don't like your job then leave

OrderEd a bag on hear for a secret Santa present, was suppose to be delivered to store on 15th dec, still not delivered and it’s the 26th dec, monies been taken from my account, every time I contact customer services there answer is it’s Christmas we’re busy, when logging onto my account to track delivery I can’t. This is the 1st time I’ve ordered from River Island and will definitely be my last horrendous service!! One extremely unhappy customer!!!

I have ordered a lot from river island on line, and have been very pleased, however this Christmas has been very very bad , I ordered a dress for Xmas day when received there was a big rip down the back of it, the second dress was suppose to have pleats in it but was like a rag, and to now I don’t know how to return it as no return sheet or recipes were put in delivery, no t at all happy this time and will let it be known 😡

I worked in River Island for a whole year and I would DEFINITELY NOT recommend it whatsoever. I worked in the Cardiff store in St Davids. Managers (mainly the higher up managers) were extremely rude on shifts. I came onto shift the one day and two of the managers stood on shop floor at the front of the store in front of customers and other staff and made me cry. They shouted at me for not taking overtime on a certain day and made out that I was lying that I had agreed to do it. I started to cry and they told me to carry on sorting shoes. I went to the back stock room and told a manager I trusted and cried to her out the back, the one manager that made me cry then came and told me that it wasn't just me and that they expect all staff to pick up extra shifts during the sale period. Two other managers that I walked past looked at me crying and turned a blind eye. I continued to cry on shop floor and the one manager that made me cry at the beginning of my shift pulled me to the very front of the store and told me to stop crying because "nobody died" and that she did not agree with me saying no to overtime because I was meeting a friend that evening and said that my priorities should be with River Island, even though I had also made these arrangements beforehand and they expected me to cancel on my friend. I didn't do this and after that I went home crying my eyes out wishing I had quit on that shift. My mum was absolutely disgusted with how they treated me and wanted to complain but I thought that would make my shifts awkward and even worse so this is the first time I am telling this story now that I have quit. On shift, managers would be rude, handing you rubbish they find on the floor and demand you to put it in the bins with no please or thank you, they would favour other staff and get you to do the worst jobs, there was constant bitching and snide comments done about staff that I sometimes over hear. They bully you into overtime and say that you must pick up overtime, and even have suggested of "getting rid of" the staff that "aren't pulling their weight" and "shipping out the bad" because of this, this was said right in front of me and another member of staff at the time, to suggest that they were talking about us. I have spoken to other members of staff and the majority feel exactly the same and are fed up of being treated like this, it is mostly the quiet ones who aren't gobby and feel too scared to stand up for themselves, like me. I would have loved to speak with head office about this and especially about the incident I spoke about at the start, but was too afraid that the managers would make my working life even worse. I really would NOT recommend working there or even buying from the shop, the amount fo clothing that comes back because of rips and bits falling off is insane, the quality is terrible and the prices are a rip off. Go shop somewhere where they treat their staff well because this shop does not deserve to even be open.

River island customer services are not helpful at all. I ordered paying extra next day delivery for my parcel. On their delivery page it does not say if you are not in they will not leave parcel I do understand policies but the driver took a photograph of my front door maybe he could have taken a photograph of my parcel in a safe place himself. However he took it away I contacted DPD as soon as I had notification they booked it for the following day guess what unexpected error you parcel is being delivered in two days time. GREAT rang customer services in River island I did say it was an emergency but they were not prepared to help at all. An excuse for everything !!!!!!Very disappointed and very annoyed. So please when ordering even if you are in, please state an option of safe place because if you dont the driver will not leave your parcel.

Sent me a voucher via email but instore they wouldn’t accept it because I did not have driving licence or passport. Email and bank card wasn’t enough.

I ordered a size 11 shoe. They shipped a size 10 and ignored my request for a return shipping label. I think they did it deliberately because they probably lied about stock. Completely inept company. Don't do business with them!

River Island use to be one of my favorite international shopping stores until recently. I received merchandise that was damaged. I was told by more than one representative that I would be refunded for shipping costs when I return it. Now, the company is stating that will not refund me for shipping costs. I received damaged merchandise and they think I should pay for it. They are out of their mind.

Definitely would NOT recommend ordering jeans from here as its false advertising, the jeans i ordered were supposed to be ‘short size 8’ they were more like an extra long size 6. Very disappointed and wont be ordering again.

Took a jacket back my daughter had already returned because too big brand new tags intact and original receipt but was refused even an exchange so have wasted £45 because of new refund policy fuming

Returned items to River Island on 28th July, still waiting for a refund, have spent time on unhelpful online chats, sent my proof of posting by email to be told to attach it again. They seem to be doing everything possible to get out of refund you money, don't buy online or if you do return it to a shop where you might have a chance of getting your money back.

The sales side is fantastic but if you have a problem, they have absolutely appalling customer service - phoned, emailed, tried live chat and still no resolve to a query. Can't even find an address to write to. Terrible!!

After spending over £100 on T-shirt’s, one of the T-shirt’s in the rack was in the wrong place and I picked up the wrong fitting. Tried to return it and it was 2 days out of the 28 day returns policy window and they refused to swap it for the correct fitting. The same day I was collecting another £50 online order. Suffice to say, I will now be buying my t shorts from Next. A bit of common sense would have kept me as a loyal customer

Purchased a matching neon green bikini before I went on holiday for a few days. Tried on the top and it didn’t suit so kept the bottoms instead. When I wore the bottoms on my 4 night holiday, the quality of the bottoms were poor - the material had frayed and the colour of the bottoms had faded!! Rather than neon green they were pastel mint! Within a week of purchase took the bikini top back into the Bradford store and the member of staff took the top to a manager out of my sight and she came back saying the manager deems this to be unsellable so we’re not returning it, DESPITE the fact I hadn’t worn it and you could tell it hadn’t been worn, tag was in tact perfectly and I had the receipt. It was quite obvious the quality of the material was lacking and I said that to them and it’s clear that you are liable for items that are faulty at RI! I even said I need to write a complaint because I haven’t worn this and I’m not paying for it so I asked for their first names so that was possible and they refused to give any name whatsoever - I wasn’t asking where they lived or their surname just a name! Surely they would have provided it if they had a point! They didn’t even advise me what to do next either they just let me take the item without an apology. Now I managed to get a refund back from the CEO by it took my two months to get it which is absolutely disgusting and no one should go to those lengths. I will never shop at RI ever again completely lost a customer for life.

Shocking and disgusting customer service. I purchased suit trousers which turned out to be too short. All I wanted was an exchange. NO, No, No. you can ONLY have an exchange if it is within a month and I am two days late. Tickets still attached, till receipt for two suits and several shirts but still NO. Disgusting.

Wanted to change delivery to my new address 2 days before the order was dispatched . River island said I couldn’t even though the order was out in a few hours before. I changed my new address on the system but when I paid my old address popped up for delivery and I couldn’t change it ... Joanne on live chat cut me off mid chat .. abysmal. I will never order from this firm again

I made an online order. I received it on 20/06/2019. I have returned 23 items via Hermes courier using River Island Parcel collection. Which means I use this service through River Island's website. I sent one parcel on 22/06/2019 with 23 items with the value of £285. I have been waiting for ages to get confirmation about the returns. I ring the customer service several times and I have been advised to wait. On 4th of July 2019, I got an email that only 5 items are returned. When I contact the customer service about my issue and sent Hermes courier receipt and I filled a form again with my returned items. I received an email that "After looking into this with both our distribution centre and our payments team, we have concluded that we will not be able to refund you for these items. Due to us not knowing the weight of the parcel being returned, as the Hermes courier collection do not offer this" Thus, I have been penalised for an error with their system. Hermes courier is running through River Island and the items are lost through the return by its courier. Thus, River Island is totally responsible about the returns not me. If Riverisland has a dispute with Hermes, this should be managed by River Island not me. I sent all my returns in one parcel and I filled in the returns form with 23 items. Thus, if you received the parcel, all items should be refunded not only part of it. This is the first time to have such bad and unfair experience. Actually, I am very unsatisfied and I am planning to take legal actions.

I went to Riverisland store in ST JOHNS SHOPPING CENTRE PERTH yesterday at 15:20pm, the guy who is working at the cashier is really not professional at all. He checks his mobile phone all the time, I've been standing there for 2 mins, he has totally ignored me, only focus on his mobile phone, until I'm trying to make cough sound, he starts doing his job!!! and before this, I'm already waiting for other 10mins on the 2 customers before me!
