This website is a total scam. Three weeks to get my order. Got sent one wrong item. Another was hemmed up so it was not a tall (BTW, if you brave the site when browsing items in pictures make sure you see the tag to ensure it is a tall as they have a lot of items posted as tall that are NOT). $4 "restocking fee" per item and then they want you to take shopping credit for a return and when you say no, they sack you a lot for the return label. And the quality of two of the items I bought certainly did not match the description of "new/tags attached" or "exceptional". Stay far, far away from this business.

I was a faithful customer with this company for many years, probably since around 2015 or 2016. Despite all of the negative reviews, I tried to support this company as much as possible placing numerous orders. I had a couple of different accounts with Thredup from not being able to remember passwords. Nonetheless, my daughter who is currently in college decided to open her own account and placed an order. She used the discount code to place her first order. Now mind you, she is in college and I allowed her to use my PayPal account not to mention she lives 45 miles away from us but will use our address to get items shipped to our home (it's safer than using hers and getting them stolen) from Amazon and all the other companies that she has ordered from. Thredup went and canceled her order because she is using the same household address and payment method. They didn't even provide a reason in the email, she had to contact customer service service so that she could get an answer. Apparently, they can't afford to have someone using a discount code with the same shipping address or payment form. Really?????? They bottom line is that they are getting paid but apparently they can't afford allowing a discount when they are making a huge amount of money off of everyone else who sends them clothing that they don't even have to spend a dime on. I'm disgusted with this company and decided to delete my account and my daughter also deleted her. I will not EVER give this company any business nor will I recommend them to anyone. They lost a customer.

I found some nice things but forgot to type in CHEERS. It looked like it was already discounted. It is not. I spent a lot of money. It is not possible to get help from this company. They have no real customer service. It lists websites and phone numbers. NONE of them allow you to ask for help with a purchase. They may say otherwise but it is not possible regardless how many times you try. Save your time and shop at a legitimate store with access to customer service when you need it. They do not value the individual customer regardless how much you spend. I am done with them as is my family and all my friends and clients. Bad will travels fast.

Terrible!!! No customer service, no phone numbers for help, very sketchy business. I just received 3 shirts and they are all pulled and snagged- if they were mine I wouldn’t even donate them. I can’t find any info on the company except that I have to pay shipping and some other costs if I even try to return. I started the process but hit a wall when it said I didn’t have the correct shipping number. It is exactly copied from their email. Never again.

Can not believe how this whole thing plays out, but miss understood somethings. Hey here's to the smart ones who came up with this money maker for themselves. I sent in 3 very full bags of clothing, shoes, purses. I made a whole $6.25 for HUNDREDS of dollars in clothing. People read everything carefully and keep in mind for every bag you ask for cost $14.99 a bag, So really I did'nt make a dime from my items at all I just paid for the bags, so they are making butt loads of many from your items and you windup oweing them in the end. BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My merchandise is pending and noone responds but the bot. They say they shipped and shipper says they did not. I have no idea if it is actually coming and suspect now it will be late and no longer needed. Service is horrid. I will dispute the charge.

Thred up sold me clothes that they say are in very good or excellent condition. When I received them, one had a hole in the fabric, another blouse had thred hanging off several places and had small rips. One pair of denim high rise women’s pants was maternity wear and a pair of jeans they said were women’s were clearly men’s jeans. Of course they wouldn’t accept a return because it said the sale was final. Even though they didn’t send me the product they advertised. I would stay completely away from this company!

I've been using ThredUp for over six years and, despite recent updates to their website, their product listings have gone downhill. Here is my experience: Shopping - Browsing their website used to be difficult but they've since updated their listings and search features so you can better find the things you're looking for. That being said, whoever is doing intake and listing of these items needs to be fired. In the past month I received two pairs of pants labeled as black that ended up being blue and SEVERAL tops labeled as women's that were men's and one even boy's. It's ridiculous that I've ordered items that I cannot wear because they were listed wrong. Credits were issued for these items but for my last complaint I didn't even receive the full amount back in a credit. I won't be using that credit to shop any time soon. I have gotten some items I like on there but prefer now to buy from individual sellers on other platforms so I know I'm getting what I expect. Selling - After sending several quality items and making no money off of them, I no longer send my nice things to ThredUp. I sell my items elsewhere and only send them stuff I wouldn't make any money off of. If they can't sell it then they claim to responsibly recycle them. Besides that, I have apparently reached my limit if clean out bags so I can only send donation bags. Oh well, I guess it makes a donation to a good cause and I get to clean out my closet. TLDR: don't send them your good stuff unless you expect to not make money. Customer Service - Fast and efficient if not a bit "bot-like".

Consignment and customer service is horrible. I sent brand new shoes and kids coats that after sell my so called profit paid for the shipping cost of sending the bag. One pair of brand new pumps came up missing and never found nor listed. I wished I would have read the reviews first. I would have donated to a good cause. Only ThredUP is making big money.

If I could give negative stars I would! I sent a giant bag of great clothes. It took 3 months to list! Half the items, some new were not listed. Very expensive items disappeared! You do not get the selling price, thredUP does! You get less than $1 per item if you are lucky! DO NOT SEND clothes to THREDUP! I made less than $9 for 8 pairs of jeans 2 new dresses, sandals, 8 tops, 2 shorts, 3 skirts! And let’s not forget half my items which were in excellent condition didn’t even get listed! I guess the lister liked the items and kept them for themselves!

Be cautious of what you buy and be sure that you really love it. Each piece is charged $3.99 to return plus postage. The pictures are small and do not necessarily reflect what you are getting. Go with a company with a better return policy. Had to return 3 out of 3 items. Wasted money!

**ThredUp Review: A Frustrating and Misleading Consignment Experience** I recently had the misfortune of using ThredUp’s consignment service, and I can confidently say it was one of the worst customer experiences I have ever encountered. This platform presents itself as a convenient way to sell your gently used clothing, but the reality is quite different. In fact, it feels more like a scam designed to extract as much merchandise as possible while giving users next to nothing in return. **Misleading Service Structure** The issues started from the very beginning. I purchased an *expedited kit* for $35, thinking this would make the process quicker and more efficient. Additionally, I paid an extra $11 to have any unlisted items returned to me. However, despite paying these fees, I never received my unlisted items back, and ThredUp made no effort to explain why. This in itself felt deceptive, as they claim to return items but clearly do not follow through on that promise. **Hidden Fees and Unclear Policies** The entire service is riddled with hidden fees and confusing policies. ThredUp does not allow you to set prices for your items, which is particularly frustrating given that they frequently run deep discounts to attract buyers. These discounts drastically reduce the amount you can earn, and you have zero control over it. Even worse, the platform doesn’t start paying you until each batch of items meets a $15 earnings threshold. Only after that threshold is met do you begin to earn a mere 3% commission. After shipping 27 high-quality items, including designer handbags and clothing from well-known brands such as Madewell, Topshop, Nordstrom, and Neiman Marcus, I earned a grand total of $45. The payout system is insultingly low considering the value of the items I sent, making it clear that ThredUp profits heavily while consignors get next to nothing. **Non-Existent Customer Support** Perhaps one of the most frustrating aspects of ThredUp is the abysmal customer service. There is no phone number to call if you have an issue, and the live chat system is consistently broken. When you do manage to open a chat window, it’s just an automated bot that says they will email you, but they never do. You are left completely stranded with no recourse or help, which makes resolving any issues nearly impossible. **Poor Reputation and Lack of Accountability** A quick glance at ThredUp’s Better Business Bureau (BBB) rating should be enough to make anyone think twice before using the service. They are not BBB accredited, and they currently hold a shocking 1.1/5 rating, with over 1,000 complaints filed against them. This is a clear red flag and further evidence that their business practices are not only misleading but potentially unethical. **Final Verdict: Avoid at All Costs** In conclusion, ThredUp is a thoroughly disappointing and exploitative service. The platform’s model is clearly designed to benefit them, not the consignors. The fees are excessive, the payout is dismal, and their customer service is virtually non-existent. If you are looking to clean out your closet, I strongly recommend avoiding ThredUp. You would be far better off donating your items to a shelter where they will be put to good use, and you can receive a tax write-off in return. I cannot believe this company has been in existence for as long as it has, and I truly hope others can avoid the frustrating, time-consuming, and frankly insulting experience I had with ThredUp. Save yourself the hassle and look elsewhere.

I sent in a group of very nice designer clothing. One shirt I sent was by Worth. It's a very expensive brand. The way Thredup has its pay makes it not worth sending in your clothing. It's better to just donate to a worthy cause and take the tax write off. I do not recommend sending your clothing to Thredup.
