Customer service was absolutely shocking. Every person I spoke to over the phone was incredibly rude and dismissive. Half my order was incomplete on the woolies app, so I asked for a cancellation and refund — and they simply refused. After speaking to FOUR different people, we finally reached someone who seemed like they might help, but she was just as rude and unhelpful as the rest. Now we’ve been told we have to wait up to 7 business days for a refund — if it even comes. This level of service is unacceptable and honestly embarrassing for a brand like Woolworths. Very disappointing.

As soon as they open a credit card for you. Just know you already in debt ,you due already without using their card.

I’m disappointed with the current online returns process. As a niche retailer, I believe Woolworths should offer a more convenient and customer-friendly solution for returns. I ordered an online-only item that isn’t available in stores, yet the dispatch slip instructs me to return it to a physical store that doesn’t even stock this product line. Need to exchange small for medium size. This leaves me with no choice but to request a refund. However, I originally paid R700, and the item now retails for R800—meaning I’ll lose out if I choose to repurchase. This feels unfair and frustrating, especially given the lack of clear and practical return options.

Hey Woolworths why don’t you sell more of IL body wash bottles than your small ones. If you are posturing yourself as an environmental proponent, limit products that use plastic containers even in your Home department OR better yet initiate a recycling collection for all the plastics you sold. It’s a pathetic sales ploy that makes the cost expensive for consumers and contradicts the values you espouse per your advertisements.

Woolworths do not communicate to affected customers the problems they have to reactivate the loyalty programme. Since the change over to a new system in April 2025, customers have not been able to access their vouchers. There is no communication on when the problem will be resolved.

Most useless delivery system and app has ever. Order from checkers anytime before 6 you get it in 30 mins. With Woolworths you can sometimes try to order at 1pm and then all the slots are taken. A joke. Basically you need to plan the day before for the next day if you want to order with them. How is that convenient and of service. Do not understand the point of their 'dash' system

Ordered R1200 groceries through Dash, the payment went through but the app just hanged! Now the order does not show on the app but payment was made. Call center is just as useless as the App, telling me to wait 24 - 48 hours for their system to reverse the payment, but there is no order linked to the payment to reverse the payment? They also did not open a case / ticket with no reference number! Now I have to wait for 48 hours to see if I get my money back so that I can order groceries? This company is a f*** joke!

Woolworths really needs to fix their Dash App. It either hangs or the payment process does not work. I tried twice last night and twice this morning to make delivery purchases on the app. On all four occasions, I approved the transactions on my banking app and the amounts were debited off my cheque account account, but did not register on Woolworths side. So now I have four amounts amounting to R3061.22 debited off my account without any order number or confirmed order. There have been NUMEROUS complaints about your APP and the same issues keep recurring. The Checkers 60 60 app is never down, it works perfectly - Woolworths needs to up their game. I spent an hour in total this morning between calls to Woolworths Online and Absa to try and get this resolved. My air time, my time and a huge inconvenience. There are always issues with the app just hanging or payments not going through. Come on Woolworths, you can do better!

Woolworths your koeksisters the size has gone smaller and the price has gone up but the quality is not as nice at all The koeksisters texture is not nice. Very dissapointing

I am extremely disappointed in the quality of an item that I bought from woolworths. The items concerned was a few long johns and vests. I sent a girl that work for me. When she arrived I removed the items from the packaging and could notice that the material was so thin. I wore it the next day but was cold at work. No surprise, as the material was so thin. I had a old vest and this was much better quality. Even the one I bought from temu was much better. These guys will not see me again anytime soon.

I love Woolworths but dear Lord why are the food prices rising so steeply on a weekly basis. The paper towels used to be 3 for R60 and suddenly it’s increased by 6 rand. This is just one example. People surely will in future shop for more affordable options.

About 3 weeks ago I shopped for cosmetics at Woolworths Fourways Mall. Two ladies Phumi and Mbali assisted me. Their service was outstanding, very helpful and patient with lots of laughs along the way. I highly commend them.

Forgot my woolies card at home then I realised that when I was at the shop that I've got my woolies app on my phone and I was told I can't use it...asked a guy that was packing he didn't know... He went to 2 people, one lady said he should ask customer service then customer service lady said no... Never felt that under valued.

Hello, kindly look at the issue l had Woolies Northgate. I am deeply hurt with the incompetence of the Manager Mpho. I had been waiting for months for the sale only to be denied to purchase because their printer was not working to issue a card. I now had an option to use my virtual card to but denied again because Home Affairs is in the process of issuing me with a smart ID. I am beyond heartbroken. Yet you preach quality and efficiency and treat customers like this. This is unacceptable 😤

[Woolworths] item- o1778111043/12233099 Hi Woolworths, Could you please show me, where in your customer rights policies, does it state that you can send a Muslim person, a Bacon item, that they didn't request or ask for in substitute, and refuse to give them a refund for it ? According to your customer service agent Tevor Yeni, a substitute that I didn't request, can't be refunded due to your policy that allows for you to substitute an item that wasn't requested, irrespective of allergies or religious beliefs.

Placed an order online for a gift. Paid with a credit card. Item was too big so it was to be exchanged for a smaller size , sent the delivery note and tax invoice to exchange at a store. Correct size was available at the store. Was told it could not be exchanged, it will be refunded to my credit card. Why? After an hour, was given a gift card. Made no sense. Took the gift card and purchased same item in the correct size. Where's the common sense.

My son ordered flowers for me online - they were out of stock of the flowers ordered so sent a completely different cheaper bunch! I took them back to a store to swap and had to pay in the difference although he had ordered and paid for the bunch I swapped for. Customer service couldn't assist despite the store manager having the documents - they wanted the order number but he had kept the documents so I couldn't tell them - I did share his details but they were not interested. Overall a dreadful experience for what should have been a happy gift received.
